Land Visions

I have lived in the White Hills community for almost two decades and during this time I have had a reason to see the company vehicles tending to various properties. A few days ago I was out riding my mountain bike since I retired I enjoy the solitude of my journeys. While riding My bike that day I had the absolute misfortune of peddling behind one of the company vans. Now I have to be honest and say once again I had always thought they seemed like a good company. The van passed me on my ride and the exhaust was spewing noxious fumes that almost looked like it had blown a head gasket. I was quickly literally enveloped in fumes that took my breath away. I had to stop let the van continue and wait for my head to stop spinning and my lungs to stop burning. They obviously have no pride in the work vehiclees and I will be telling my neighbors about my experience. Word of mouth is the best advertising.

Before beginning, Brian and Kyle and Roberto came out, when promised, to discuss solutions to the problem. Brian gave us the estimate and a start date shortly after. Roberto and Kyle are the best! They arrived as scheduled, discussed the plans, requested approval before changing anything, and were extremely intelligent, polite, hardworking guys. The job took about a week, working between a few rains. They arrived promptly in the morning and worked long days. They coordinated electrician and plumber visits. They always answered our questions very completely. They had a lot of dirt to transfer to the back yard with a Bobcat, and, at the end of each day, they cleaned up the yard and driveway. They replanted grass and laid straw wherever the Bobcat had made tracks. They raised my flower bed in the back, replanted the flowers, and actually transferred plants and rocks to make it beautiful. They finished the job two days ago, and Brian already called to make sure everything went well. Roberto and Kyle set the sprinkler timers to run twice a day to encourage the new grass growth, and said they will be back to see how things are going. We have great trust in this company and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Land Visions sent out Josh Wilkes to talk with us, get our ideas, and draw up the plans. We had contracted three different companies to compare pricing and final plans. Josh's ideas were by far the best. His drawings were very detailed right down to each and every plant. The price was also the most reasonable. Land Visions was very busy, so we knew there would be a little time before they could start. The only problem was that since we had absolutely nothing but dirt, by the time they got started, we started getting a lot of rain. It felt like their work was constantly being washed away at the beginning, but they kept coming back and redoing it at no additional charge. The hardscaping was amazing. Our lot is slanted toward a drainage ditch, so there is a definite elevation difference between the front of the house and the back. Josh installed a raised flower bed up in the front of the house that wraps around the side, and blends into some stone steps going down towards our patio around the walkout basement. The plants and flowers he planted are mostly maintenance free. The irrigation system helps in that regards too as Scott installed it so almost all of our plants get watered along with the grass. We have a partial retaining wall in the back of our house that was installed by the builder, but was in no means long enough to prevent the collapse of the ground in the back from burying our walkout basement door. CVE did this work, not recommended!!! Josh extended our retaining wall with a very cool boulder wall that blends well with the surrounding woods and land. He used the same boulders for the raised gardens. There are still a couple issues with washout, but Brian, the owner, has come over and met with me personally to say they would continue fixing the problems until they're correct and holding. I would recommend them to anyone. When they finished, I took out the old drawing Josh had done, and it matched perfecting to the finished product. We plan on using them for Spring and Fall cleanup as well and yard treatments for weeds in the future.

All of it went well. They brought in a backhoe and about four young men and they got the job done very efficiently. I was there to give them my comments as they went along and they did what I asked.

I pay them too much. They do a good enough job. They mow every week and they trim it every other week. They are very good but we have to watch what they do. We have to make sure that they do it the way we wanted done.

They work quickly, get the job done and go. They are good for mowing but not so good for other things like landscaping.

Nothing to report, as the vendor never returned my initial request for an estimate.

I contacted numerous landscape companies for a quote and Jeff was the only one who responded. He came out and quoted the job shortly after contacting me. The job itself was done within a few weeks of us putting down our deposit. Once they got out they were in and out in around 6 hours. They were careful and courteous, being sure not to disturb our neighbors yard while working. We honestly couldn't have been any happier with the work done. This is a top rate company and I highly recommend them!
