Jacks Vac Shack

I had a short on my Wahl Swedish - Style Massager. My wife enjoys back and neck rubs and I ran into problems trying to repair it. I was intimidated by the small soldered connections that I would have to make in the internal connections. I purchased another massager but it was too powerful for some uses. I called one of the small appliance repair providers on Angie's List and was told rather abruptly that since I only paid about $60 that the cost of repair would be the same as buying a new one and they would not repair it. I did not have a chance to say that this model is no longer available - but I realized that he really did not want to be bothered. I then called Jacks Vac Shack realizing that this was a long shot. I talked to Jack - he listened and understood the problem and said that he could help. I bought the disassembled massager in, Jack looked at it and said he could fix it. He said he could put a new or used cord on - I opted for a used for $5.00 . He said that he could make the internal connections and seal the cord to the unit. Labor would be $10. He said it would be ready by 3:00 PM that day. It was now 12:30 PM. I came back at 3:00 PM and the massager was ready. The workmanship was perfect and it worked! Total bill was $15 (the cord did not look used). What was refreshing was the way he responded to the needs the customer - he was there to help me - not intimidate or rip me off. Hard to find these types.
