INNOVATION CONSTRUCTION

They were quick to come out to give me an estimate. They were on target. They let me know when there was something additional that would change the estimate and get our ok to move forward. There was always one person as the point of contact, so communication stayed with one person. Their work was fast, yet thorough. I would to recommend them to everyone.

Our original contract was signed with Innovation Construction then a second contract was created and signed for the siding under a second company, Window World (at the same Pennsylvania Ave address). They did not start upon the agreed date nor did they notify us of date changes. These companies did not perform quality work. The employees are day laborers hired almost daily and did not know much about construction, carpentry, electrical, etc. The entrance doors were damaged during installation. The side entrance door was no longer usable after the workmen installed, removed and re-installed it twice. The first group of workers did not use shims to level the door but rather just used large nails. When it was replaced it was not with the same door that we originally had. The main entrance door had to be re-installed also. We finally gave up when we realized that two different groups of laborers did not know how to install. The superintendent & owner would not return calls.

Overall, I'd give these guys a D+; the quality of their work was, at best, merely adequate. On the other end of the spectrum some of the work was done half-baked and some not at all. The plumbing for the new kitchen sink is wrong; both sinks drain VERY slowly, and running the disposal forces water into the adjoining sink. The cupboard above the range was placed too close to the adjoining wall, which prevents the microwave's door from opening all the way. Yes, they had more room on the other side of the cupboard! The front door's screen door return anchor was placed in the wrong spot, preventing the door from opening all the way. The interior trim for the new front door was reused from the old front door, which in and of itself wasn't a bad idea except for the fact that it was removed hastily and the section that tore off in the process was poorly patched with spackle and then NOT repainted! We did get a brand new toilet upstairs because they broke the old one.

They were not allowed to finish the job. They came to our home with the wrong sized windows and began to destroy the walls while installing the first one. We noticed this immediately and had them stop what they were doing. They not only had the wrong sized windows, but it seemed from what we observed that they had no idea what they were doing. I told them to put the old window back and get off my property. They left and after some litigation based on non- responsiveness, we had our money refunded to us. Lastly, the price was off by thousands of dollars because it was the wrong type windows.
