Everything went smoothly. The salesman answered all of our question. The installer was pleasant and efficient!

When the fall maintenance inspection was done, the service technician told us that the heat exchanger was cracked. He showed me where we could actually see through the crack. The cost of repair would be high and the furnace was old so a new furnace was in order. A sales representative came to the house and explained the options. There was no high pressure and he did not press the higher priced models or optional equipment. He just explained the advantages and disadvantages of each. He gave us the cost of each option. We compared their price with another vendor and found Hager Fox's to be lower for a similar system. We decided on a high efficiency model for economic and environmental reasons. The installers were punctual, professional and friendly. The job was completed in a timely fashion and they cleaned up the area when they were done. We are very pleased with the service, the product, and the price. We will use them again and would recommend them to others.

Larry, the salesman was very informative, friendly and efficient. The installer was very efficient, did a very good job for us and took the time to show us how everything worked. Everything was done in a timely manner and we are very pleased with this company.

A service call to have my existing furnace cleaned and tuned-up revealed that the unit needed to be replaced, and was unsafe. Hager Fox had a new unit available and ready for installation within a short time. The old unit was removed and taken away (included in the price of the new furnace). The installation went smoothly, and only took a few hours. The installation technician was friendly and careful to protect carpets, etc. with drop cloths. He did an excellent job, and completely cleaned up the area when he was done. The sales person, Larry Pittman, was extremely helpful and had all the information I needed to make my purchase decision, including calling their office to verify that the unit I needed was in stock and could be installed immediately.

My furnace stopped heating on Wednesday evening during this last cold snap. I called Hager Fox to relight it. The technician came as soon as possible, about 10 pm and identified the problem - the inducer had seized up and would not turn. I had already done my research on Angies List several months ago to find the best Heating/Cooling company and had set aside funds to replace my old furnace, so I made the decision to do just that. I called Hager Fox the next morning, Thursday, to see how fast that could happen. He scheduled an appointment for me for Friday morning with the Comfort Consultant. He arrived promptly at 8:00 with two space heaters to get my house warmed up, calculated the size of the furnace I would need, told me about the rebates and even prepared those requests. The installers arrived at 8:00 sharp on Saturday, tore out the old furnace and had the new one in place by 2:00. They answered all my questions, cleaned up the work area, removed the tarps, collected the space heaters, and left me with a thermostat registering 70 degrees! The new 2-stage furnace is very quiet and keeps the house much warmer than my old noisy wind tunnel furnace did.

We have used Hager-Fox for several years for our heating and air-conditioning needs, so when we needed duct cleaning, we had confidence that they would do a great job. We can always rely on them to be punctual, professional, and very person friendly. They have always done an excellent job, and will not hesitate to tell you when they think a certain job would not be feasible. As an example: We inquired about attaching a humidifier to our furnace, but after one of the technicians explained the problems they would encounter due to the location of our furnace, we decided to wait. We definitely recommend Hager-Fox.

The most difficult part of this job was with Angie's List itself. I was a tad confused about the "coupon" which was really just prepaid diagnostics work. I proceeded to pay in advance for the "coupon" and then received four--count 'em--FOUR e-mails in my Yahoo In Box, thereafter. I then called Hager Fox directly because I did not know what to do with Angie's List's so-called "coupon." Hager Fox was also confused because dealing with this "coupon" was also new to them. But I gave them the invoice number and they are supposed to be reimbursed by the List. Whew! The actual job itself went much more smoothly. I wasn't at home to see the job through, but my husband was. He later told me that the guy got right down to business and explained everything in good detail so that my husband would understand what the problem was. As it turned out, our furnace only needed routine maintenance and it has been running much more smoothly and, I believe, less often, after this job! The representative also inspected and cleaned the thermostat. (I didn't even know that there was such a thing as cleaning a thermostat!) But, anyway, as I've stated previously, our furnace now seems to be running better than it has in at least the one to two or more years it has been since last being inspected and maintained. We will definitely hire Hager Fox again!

They are always arrive withing the scheduling window with a call before hand as a heads up. They're very professional, courteous, and wear shoe covers whenever they come inside to keep the floors and carpets clean and they are happy to answer questions. (I can't comment on the cost as my wife handles the bills.)

I got three different estimates and decided on Hager Fox. Called the salesman, accepted the offer and set up a date to have the furnace installed. The furnace was installed. I was happy with the installation.

.Came home from vacation to a cold house , looked at reviews here and called Hager Fox. They had a repairman out 1st thing next morning , repaired the issues but showed us potentially dangerous rust in our furnace. We asked for a quote , were given a quote same day , and they altered their schedule the next morning and installed a new furnace. As a manager in a service department , I recognize and appreciate great customer service and start to finish hager Fox is a first class operation

The installer was prompt, polite, and professional. It seemed like he completed the job quickly, and when he was finished, he showed me what he had done and explained how to use and care for it. Since the weather had turned cooler, I have not turned the unit on, but he assured me that they would be available if I have questions next year. I am satisfied with this company--they also installed my new furnace two years ago.

I got a feeling of confidence that they knew the job that they were doing. They were very good working with us. They managed to work on a plan that all of the combustion air would go to an existing vent. It was a pretty decent design work. They gave us good prices. They were there on time. He took a look at my air conditioner and cleaned it without extra charge.

It went great. The repairman arrived when I was told on the phone that he would. He was professional in appearance and expertise. He explained and walked me through what he was going to do.. He worked quietly and wasted no time. When he was finished and got our A/C/ back up and running he showed my wife and I what he had done, i.e. the work done, the parts changed and gave us some insight into our furnace which was nice since we are new home owners. We had had no problems since the work has been done. Hager Fox has an excellent local reputation here in Lansing ad we heartily endorse them and will call them first if/when we ever need anything in their field of expertise.

I have been using Hager Fox for several years and I have been pleased with their service. When I had my air conditioner repaired on July 4, I didn’t do any price comparison but their price was reasonable. They came out the same day I called them. I got three good quotes for my new air conditioner and I did not choose them to put in the new air conditioner. Now that I’ve gone with another company to install my new air conditioner, I probably won’t call Hager Fox again.

As explained above, it went well. We have had multiple dealings and all were positive.

We met Joe at Hager Fox and he was amazing from start to finish. He was very courteous and encouraged us to call with any/all questions. Eve2 though We received multiple estimates and Hager Fox was not the lowest. However, they were the most local so we called Joe and told him that we would like to go with them and asked if they would match a competing estimate. Joe told us that the estimate was so low that if they matched they would probably lose money, but told us to wait to see what he could do. We expected him to come back with a price on the replacement that was slightly higher than the other estimate but assurances that they would do the job better. Joe called us back and told us that his boss thought that the estimate from the other company was a mistake, but he didn't want to lose our business and they would match the competing offer. Then, not only did he match t1e offer but with the rebates that we received the actual price of the furnace ended up being lower than the previous estimate! After deciding to go with them, the installation and inspection were a breeze. We couldn't be happier with the end result! Joe is a sweetheart of a guy and if you do go with him you will not regret it. Thank you Joe and keep up the good work!!

I thought they did a very good job. They took care of things really well. They even came late in the day and in the weekends as well. The price was fine.

After not calling when they said they would, and missing an appointment entirely, I was very apprehensive about doing business with them. When I called about the missed appointment, no excuses were given. The manager acknowledged that they had "dropped the ball", apologized, and asked how they could make up for it. I appreciated the sincerity, and another appointment was made. They were on time (early actually) for the appointment, knowledgeable, and professional. Compensation was given for having missed the prior appointment. After having two other companies out for estimates, it became apparent that Hager Fox was the best choice. The two companies were graded well on Angie's list, and sold top ranked equipment. That being said, one still has not given me an estimate, and the other was unable to work on our house because of the complexity of the zoned system. Hager Fox performed the work two days after the initial estimate. Everything looks good and works great.

They are very courteous. They have uniforms and it is very clear who they are and where they are from. They are very considerate of keeping my house clean when they are walking through it. They explained to me everything very well. I have used them for years and I’m always happy with them.

I called on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 to request service on my home A/C unit. I'm unsure what the exact issue is. I was told the next available time they had was the following Tuesday (6/26/12) and they said sometime between noon - 5pm. Now it's Thursday, 6/21/12 and my place of employment is in need of a service call and, amazingly enough, Hager Fox can come to my work tomorrow. I understand that there is more money to be made fixing a larger sized piece of equipment rather than a residential one but I just think it's bad business. Also, the charge for them to come out and diagnose the problem (could just need a tune-up -- which their flier I just received in the mail states is $79) is $95. The highest of any of the A/C companies I've since called.

It cost us $95 to be told by Hager Fox it would not be worth it to fix our combination AC/Heater unit in our condo. Hager Fox said it would be less expensive to purchase an entirely new unit at a minimum of $4200. They were also rude to my husband on the phone after he questioned their assessment after doing some research. We joined Angie's List to get other options. We read so many things about All Star Mechanical that we decided to schedule a consultation, careful this time to make sure it would not cost us anything to get an appraisal of the situation as we found out the hard way with Hager Fox. When All Star Mechanical came to assess the situation, they not only fixed it, but the charge was about $550 and completed in 2-1/2 hours. I actually teared up because of what he was able to do for us. There are just no words. In this struggling economy it is refreshing that there are honest, wholesome people out there. We are on a fixed income and working to make ends meet. We are indescribably disgusted with Hager Fox and will tell everyone we know to choose a more honest business to do their repairs.

They were fine. They came and checked my furnace. The service was okay. I was not familiar with their work. They got in there, and they did the job. It was kind of routine. The staff was friendly and punctual. The price was fine. The only reason I rated them B's was because the person that came was not very experience. They were young and naive. They were showing in their experience and professionalism. I thought it was better than average.
