 + -1 moreWhen they came they discovered they did not have the right plug replacement - they were great and came back the next day with the new plug and the unit was able to be installed. We were leaving for vacation and needed to do laundry before leaving. They were so accommodating and responsive - we will definitely have them do any electrical work in the future.
Description of Work: when installing our new washer/dryer combination unit Best Buy discovered that the plug needed replacing. Called several places and none of them had openings for a month. Called Hager Fox and after hearing that the new unit was being delivered the next day said they would send someone out.

He gave me confidence that he understood the electrical issue that was occurring and could resolve the problem. He scheduled an electrician to come to the house and gave me an estimate for the work. The electrician arrived on schedule. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and resolved the issue within a short period of time. The cost was in line with the estimate and reasonable. I am very pleased with the service.

 + 0 moreThey replied very promptly to my request for an estimate. The salesman was very knowledgeable and patient and answered all of my questions. The generator was installed the next week. Everything went well with the installation, and they cleaned up after they were finished. All of the workers were very polite and also answered my questions. The price is high, but is similar to what other companies are charging. I consider it expensive peace of mind. We lost power this morning, and the generator started right up. I was thrilled!

 + -1 moreDuring the week of December 23, 2013, mid-Michigan was hit by a massive ice storm. Approximately 40% of the households in the Lansing area were without power afterward. Our entire neighborhood was dark for a week. Because of the massive damage, I had trouble getting any electrician to come look at the mast for the power lines to my house. Most electricians said they had 1-week waiting lists. Mr. Hager was able to come to my house the day that I called. He told me what he'd do to repair the mast and said he could do it within a couple days. He repaired the mast within 48 hours. Eventually the power company restored power to our neighborhood. This included attaching the power lines to the mast that Mr. Hager had repaired. We encountered no problems. And Mr. Hager's bill matched his estimate. I was grateful to have found Mr. Hager. It was one of the few happy outcomes in a frustrating week.
Description of Work: The mast for power lines to my house was ripped down during a massive ice storm. Mr. Hager arrived earlier than he said he would (a good thing!), gave me an estimate, and later repaired the mast.

I asked for an air conditioner for my upstairs bedrooms. This house has a hot water heating system. They were able to install a system in such a way that the whole house felt cool. This was the hottest summer on record. I appreciated their expertise and professionalism, and their ability to help me have a cool home.

Description of Work: They did three jobs in my house within the past two months. I first contacted them about an electrical outage in an upstairs bedroom. They sent someone out the next day and got it working and advised me of options to avoid further problems. The upstairs wiring is old and couldn't handle all of the appliances/devices that were in use. I decided to have them install a dedicated line for an electric heater and was very pleased with the work. The electrician talked through the pros and cons of bringing the line up through interior walls or outside along the siding. I went with the exterior option and he ran it along the gutter so that, once painted, it won't be noticeable at all. He was attentive to those kinds of details. The third time, I had them install some light fixtures. I have been impressed with their service: very professional and clean, work completed in a timely manner, attention to details, and everything works perfectly. I think the price is very reasonable for the amount of time it took to do the work and the quality. The cost of installing the light fixtures isn't included since I haven't been billed for that yet. I will definitely use them again! I got an answering machine when I called for service and they called back within a couple of hours.

Description of Work: They came out and found the problem and fixed it, I was very satisfied. They went to my fuse box and found a short on the buff and it had been shorted and was all corroded. They took that out and put a new one in and I was fine.

I asked them to re-quote it at a higher BTU rating. They were willing to do that, but I was concerned that they hadn't done that in the first place.
