Granger

Think twice before doing business with this company. As of the writing of this review, they have a C- rating with the BBB. An upstanding business in the community, they are not. I was a Green Valley customer, and they were bought out by Granger. Granger’s service had become unreliable, so on March 4, 2024, I canceled my service with them. On March 25, 2024, I had what I thought was my last invoice from them auto deducted from my bank account in the amount of $6.11, which made sense because I had canceled one week into my 3 month billing cycle. On April 25, 2024, another bill was auto deducted from my account in the amount of $78.34. $60 was for “cart removal”, which I was never told that there would be a charge for, not to mention it’s completely outrageous. I was also charged $18.34 as a “remaining contract obligation”. When they automatically deducted money from my account, I hadn’t been a customer for nearly two months.

I have used Grangers for 33 years. I have always bought tags for my bags as this is a single person home and I'm often out of town so a container is too much for me. Until Covid, I went to the business on Wood Road and bought and paid for my tags. During Covid I understood why the tags would be mailed and I paid with a check. After Covid, they didn't open their office and I continued to call to order tags and pay for them by check plus the surcharge for gas they added. Today I called to order tags and was told that I had to pay either by credit card or access to my bank account. I asked if the office was open and was told it wasn't. I was also told that one of the reasons they required immediate pay was they are thinking about stopping using bag tags. That sure leaves Seniors who don't need expensive containers in a bind.....as does the request for bank or credit card payments. This makes life very hard. Do any of your trucks have the quote "the least you do unto your brethren, you do unto Me"?

My parents recently had their trash company changed to granger and since they’ve started (1 of January) they have had nothing but problems. Twice the trash can was out and ready for pick up and was not, trash has been left out all over the road multiple times and they want to use the arm to pick the trash up so they don’t have to get out of the truck. Well my parents live in the country with a small mouthed driveway and a creek on each side so they can’t put the trash can in the mouth of the driveway as it gets knocked into the creeks on each side. So they have been leaving the trash can a foot away from the mouth of the driveway on the side. Well granger is mad because they have to get out of the truck to pull the trash can A FOOT away to their arm thing. So they keep leaving orange slips on the trash can and we’ve explained multiple times to them that their arm doesn’t work for people in the country because we have different driveways than the people in town

I had my yard waste out there the night before pickup [a single waste bag]. Granger did not pick it up. When I contacted customer service rep Denise, she accused me of lying by saying it wasn't out there. She never agreed to come get the yard waste. They were never shy about charging me extra when I had extra bags along the curb, but would not provide the basic service I paid for. I canceled the service and went with Waste Management.

They do a good job and I have never had any problems. They come once a week. I don’t have to worry about things not getting done. They do recycling but I think you have to take it there. They send little communication letters and that is nice.

The price stood out. They're the best price around here. They're always here every Tuesday.

They can't bill. The only thing they can do is pick up the trash you put out in the can.

If you see them, they're friendly. They're always timely. We had a problem once with our trash cart having a broken wheel. They replaced it immediately, rather than saying that they'd get to it. A long time ago, when we were using a different company, they would raise their prices every couple of months. Granger may raise their price once a year, if that.

They are always timely and reliable. They typically send the same guys, so they know your house. If I am late getting something out for some reason, they will gladly stop to collect it.

They do a very good job of picking it all up and they don't leave anything on the lawn. They are also a very eco-friendly company.

I like their services. You can change out the size of the container very easily. They are a very easy service to use, and I would recommend them.

I would recommend them to others.
