These guys were awesome. They were a tiny bit late arriving (about 15 mins) due to construction in the area, but called ahead to let us know what was up and when they would arrive. We hired a three man crew, and these guys hustled. We were moving out of a 5 bedroom, 2 story house with a full basement - all of it pretty well packed with stuff, and I was amazed at how quickly and thoroughly they got things taken care of. So far, I've found no damage to anything they moved, which is especially impressive given that it rained for about a half hour in the middle of the day as they loaded. I don't think I ever saw anyone come downstairs or go outside without something in his hands. They took a couple of breaks during the day, but nothing unreasonable, and were extremely polite, respectful, and responsive at all times. They did not charge me for their lunch break. They even were able to disassemble and reassemble my daughter's custom-built loft bed. It took two truckloads to get everything, but none of them complained - they just pitched in and got the work done. At the end of the day, despite the move taking 10.5 hours, they didn't charge me for the drive to or from either address (only the time between), and they didn't even charge me an overtime rate - just the straight hourly rate, which was $40/hour cheaper than anyone else I talked to. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough!

Description of Work: Moved my three bedroom, finished basement ranch home into a similar home environment. Very friendly, punctual, responsive to needs of our family. There was damage to one bookcase and some walls as items were moved into the basement. Granted, it was a tight corner to turn at the bottom of the steps. Overall, I would highly recommend.

The move went flawlessly even though the temperature was a balmy -10 degrees at move start and only warmed up to -6 during the move. Move was to have begun at 9:00 am but they called about 8:30 to say they had trouble starting the truck and had to pick up a mattress set at Sam's Club for a later delivery. They arrived at 9:15 and promptly began to work. I had many boxes of books, packed in too large of boxes. The movers (both named Matt) didn't complain but quickly brought up hand carts to move the boxes. They loaded the 32 foot truck quickly and efficiently, stacking the boxes no more than 4 or 5 high so the boxes wouldn't fall during transport. They had plenty of furniture pads and wrapped my mattress set so it would not get dirty. My 42" plasma flat screen TV also received special handling and cushioning. One thing I noticed was that they never made a trip to the truck without something to be moved in their hands. They were very efficient and had no wasted motions. They asked to follow me to the new home, about a half hour trip through town. No problems there. When we arrived, I went in to turn off the alarm and secure the cats. When I came out, they had positioned the truck in the drive and had shoveled the 3 inches of snow from behind the truck to the garage as well as clearing the sidewalk to the front door. I thanked them for doing that, and they said they were glad to do it as it was also for their safety as well as protecting my stuff. The move inside went very well, with many boxes and furniture going down a steep stair to the basement. Again, no complaints, but fast and efficient service using the hand trucks. The movers even helped load a bed coming from the house into my stepdaughter's now ex-boyfriend's truck. A very pleasant surprise came at the end of the move. They only charged me for the actual time they were on the job sites, and didn't charge for driving the truck a half hour back to Lansing (unlike other moving companies in town had quoted). They even prorated the last hour, charging me for only a half hour. At $80 per hour, the 3.5 hour move only cost $280. Well worth it in my mind, considering all the stairs to be navigated. No items were broken or even scratched during the move. I had spoken to Gus, the superviso,r a couple of times to set up the move and he was very helpful and a no-pressure kind of guy. Overall, I was extremely happy with the move and would definitely use them again. Any guys that can keep in good spirits and work so efficiently in bitterly cold temperatures deserves repeat business!
