The piano proved to be a beast as it is apparently a large upright and is very heavy. Mr. Jones was willing to coordinate a move using folks in the Detroit area. Due to the weight and difficulty of the job, I cancelled it. I would highly recommend Mr. Jones as he demonstrated eagerness and was great to work with. I am sending him a check to offset his costs in traveling to Dearborn to assess the situation. I appreciated his efforts.

Sorry this review is so late, but EJ and Sons did a great job for us! They arrived on time and were friendly and professional. They moved very quickly and got the move done fast!! I was quite impressed. Nothing was damaged, and they didn't take any breaks. Thanks guys!!

The movers took brakes every hr.

ED and James were my movers. They were fantastic. I wasn't certain how the cupboard could be dis-assembled. They carefully examined it and gently removed all removable parts. When it was time to re-assemble, they were equally careful and attentive to both the dollar value of the piece and the emotional value of the piece. They moved it from a house to my small apartment and maintained a pleasant attitude even when facing unexpected obstacles.

I phoned EJ and Sons moving on Tuesday and spoke with EJ. EJ wanted to come out to our home to visually inspect what would need to be moved. He came out within two days and told us he thought that his company could move us in a single 24 ft. truck with a single trip in about 5 hours. I questioned him about the time and load since a much larger and national competitor was estimating 10 hours. He felt confident that he was within about an hour accuracy in his estimate. Given the method in which he presented himself as well as price we decided to use EJ's company but didn't have a firm date when he was onsite. The following Monday we learned that we would be closing on Friday and wanted to move on Saturday. I feared that being only six days they would be already booked. However, upon calling EJ he asked me what time I wanted to start moving on Saturday and then confirmed the time and date with me. I requested to begin moving at 9am on Saturday morning. On moving day two men, Les and Gus, showed up in a truck and began by me showing them everything I wanted loaded into the truck. After that they began promptly loading the truck. They used plastic wrap on the furniture with drawers like the dressers to keep the doors and drawers shut. Then they used blankets to cover them to keep them from getting scratched. Both men continued to load items for about two hours before they took a five minute snack and water break after which they went right back to work. After about 3.5 hours they had filled the truck and after confirming with me noted we'd need to come back for a second trip. During the unload of the first load at the new home they asked often where I wanted something put if I didn't have it marked. It took them approximately 1.5 hours to unload but they worked straight through the entire time. We then returned to the old residence, finished loading everything I requested and then unloaded at the new residence. All told it took about 7 hours from start to finish and I believe the extra time above the estimated time was due in part to having to make a second trip. I did help on getting items out of the old home and into the new home but merely as a time (and money) saving aspect. Overall when all was said and done I was charged for 6.5 hours of time and felt it was definitely worth hiring this company to move my home. After unpacking about 95% of everything moved I found only one small $10 picture frame broken so far and that was only because it wasn't packed well by me. I would say that EJ and Sons movers took great care in moving my home and I would definitely use them again. I'd also recommend them to anyone.

They were very good-natured - despite a job that I felt was difficult. Very carefull of walls when moving. Extremely fair with the charge asked- we paid them extra.

The job went very well. The movers were professional and careful in moving the furniture; took care not to mar the walls.

It was really non-stressfull time during what could have been a nightmare with another moving company. Both individuals (Elvis and Prince) did a remarkable job. They took the furniture off the truck and placed the items in their designated places as if they were moving into their own home. No bumped walls, floors or furniture. Everything that needed to be put back together was done correctly, and they always showed excellent professionalism. Can't say enough good comments, they just were the best. They came a little early, were extremely trustworthy, charged what they said they would charge, and the owner (father) came over to check on the progress. Would highly recommend their services.

My reasons are as follows. My wife called them (on Sept. 1, 2009) about moving our refrigerator to the basement for storage. They quoted a price of $40.00 and a date and time of Sept 2, 2009 at 11:30am. About an hour later I get a phone call from Valerie Saying that they would be running late on the 2nd. And could we move the appointment to 12 noon. I agree to this. Sept. 2nd comes, so does 12 noon, and goes. Along with 1pm. At 1:30 I call to find out if I had made a mistake on the date. Valerie tells me I hadn’t and they would have someone there in 30 min. She then proceeds to tell me that the original price quoted was wrong and the price would now be $75.00. I told them to forget coming out. I would find someone else to do the move.
