Description of Work: The tech was actually a bit early and called ahead to see if he come. He was very good about explaining what he was doing and answered all my questions. When he located a part that was starting to fail he again explained what was wrong and the benefit of replacement during the check up.

Description of Work: Purchased the online tune up for $94. When I ordered, I was asked when I would like Doty Mechanical to come. The scheduler app showed he following day and the day after as available. After I purchased, I received a call from a lady in the main office who indicated they are several weeks out from being able to perform the tune up. When I suggested that they look into this issue (that it appears they have more availability than they actually do), she became very confrontational and defensive. I would not use this company based on my interaction with this individual. I have requested a refund of the tune up.

Description of Work: My 2-year old high-efficiency furnace stopped working on one of the coldest days and evenings of the horrible 2013-14 Michigan winter! Temperatures were forecast to drop to -13 degrees that night, and with my inside temperature already down to 55 degrees, I feared frozen pipes if I didn't get it fixed quickly. A friend recommended Doty Mechanical, and even though it was after business hours, I called, they came within 30 minutes, found and fixed the problem. The technician knew the type of furnace I had and told me that if my furnace was experiencing one of two typical issues with that brand, he would be able to fix it and not have to order parts. Luckily, it was one of the simpler issues (condensation on contacts) and the furnace was humming along again within an hour. I am writing this review 6 months later and cannot remember the technician's name, but he was very professional, had excellent communication and interpersonal skills, provided full information about the problem and prognosis, and left me with good tips so the condensation issue does not resurface. For an after-hours repair call, $125 was a very good price as well. I highly recommend Doty Mechanical.

Description of Work: They replaced the blower module in my high efficiency furnace, which had failed. I paid a discounted price of $571; it was discounted because I signed up for a year of service on my furnace and A/C. I had bought a high efficiency central A/C from this company in August 2004 at a cost of $2935. I believe these people are competent, honest, and fair.
