They were able to come out early the day after I called. Cables were replaced and the tech noticed the door wasn't shutting as smoothly as it could, and made some adjustments to that. He also greased/oiled the tracks to make it quieter. I was very pleased with the service.

Jason and Dan were professional, fast, and kind. They quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and performed a bit of maintenance. I found the price to be fair for the work they did and the parts they replaced.

I called at about 8:00 am , they were here by 10:00 am. They diagnosed that the door was frozen to the ground, unstuck it, lubricated door and floor, and reset cable in tracks. Door was functioning within 10 minutes. They have a standard charge for a service call and that is what I was charged.

I was heading out of town at 2pm on a Monday and was to be gone for the rest of the week on business My poor husband would be without the use of the garage The first company I called told e Wednesday and asked for a 4 hour time block for arrival, . When I called them at 8:00 am when they opened and explained my plight, they said they could have someone out between 9and 11 am THAT DAY. They arrived at my home at 9:10, AMAZING!!!!

Instead of fixing it, Crawford wrote an estimate of $1400 for a new steel door. They asked for $600 down so they could order the new door, since mine is a non-standard size (15 x 7). They said the door would come in a week, and meantime I wouldn't be able to access my garage. Then I had second thoughts and called another company, Overhead Door. Their guy didn't know I had already talked with Crawford Door. He said, I see nothing broken, not even your cable - it's only detached. He rewound the cable around the drum, got the wheel back in its track, and lubed everything. All done in a half hour, and it's working like a charm. He also tightened the tension of my springs, so the cable detachment problem wouldn't happen again. Crawford also had told me that my heavy wooden door would soon wear out the garage door opener, because inside was a coiled nylon rope which was doing the lifting, and was bound to break. Better to have a new light weight door, he said, so the opener could last longer. His competitor, the Overhead guy, said that's wrong; the nylon cord does not do any lifting, the springs do it. Crawford also had told me that all metal parts were rusty, and the springs would probably break soon, which could damage my car, or me. Overhead guy disagreed with that. I asked both guys for probable cost of replacing a broken spring, just in case it should happen. Crawford guy said $3-400 for two, Overhead guy said $229 for two. On the positive side,Crawford did mail back my $600 check for down payment, but they kept the $89 for what turned out to be an estimate rather than a repair call. Estimates are usually free.

They were here for about 30 minutes. I did have remind them to check to make sure it worked fully. They were about to leave, when I reminded them. That bothered me a little. When they went to look at the door, they offered to add another spring for $50. I didn't think I would need another, since I have only had the one. After I made out the check, they said it was another $15. I had to make out another another check. I thought it was odd. I was surprised that they didn't know how to program the keypad. I just wanted them to tell me how to do it. They said they would have to charge me, but it ended up that they didn't know how to do it anyway. They did come within the two-hour time they gave, which was good.

I am very satisfied. We couldn't get the door down so our home was not secure and they came within an hour of my call. He fixed the door in less than a half hour. He charged the $89 minimum service call and a $12 trip fee.

Mr. Patterson called and arrived a day ahead of schedule, because of an unexpected vacancy in his schedule. Mr. Paterson immediately diagnosed and fixed my problem, then went on to inspect, lubricate, tighten, and adjust everything possible to ensure that my door opener was operating as efficiently and effectively as possible. He was very knowledgeable,courteous, friendly, and professional. I will certainly recommend and do business with this firm in the future...they will be my first call...!!

They suggested the motor could be fixed but I decided that due to the age of the unit it would be better to replace it. They took the old motor unit and remotes with them which I can only assume can be reinstalled somewhere else after it's fixed I asked if there was a coupon on Angie's list and the installer did say yes but he would have to charge me for the time it took to print it. I would assume since I relinquished the old motor and remotes that I should receive a rebate on this job without further cost. Probably won't use them again or refer their services to friends.

Prompt, needed to come back twice for adjustment. Very satisfied with work performed.

They were very prompt and took only a day to install the new door. However, it did take a while for the door to come in after they ordered it.

They gave me a price when I went to the store, had someone out within days to measure ordered the door and did the installation as soon as the door was shipped to the store. I wanted a door I had looked at five years earlier with special hardware and the price was the same as it had been when I first liiked at doors several years ago. My new door looks great and functions very well.

I have used Crawford Door for a garage door and side entry door. This job was subcontracted to Overhead Door of Nashville,MI. Denny, said he couldn't do any repairs, only replace everything put the door. When I had the garage door replaced Crawford Door had no problem working on equipment they didn't install. He said there was no record Crawford Door installed the door. When I produced the receipt he said he still couldn't do the work on existing equipment. I paid the money. The installers were professional, Denny, the salesman was not. Because of Denny's abrasiveness, I can not recommend Crawford Door.

They replaced my garage door opening mechanism. They came when they said they would. They did an excellant job.

They were very good. On time for the estimate. Actually answered the phone (that's always nice). Other than a few scheduling hiccups (said they'd come Tues or Wed but actually came Thurs) we were satisfied. The repair man was very pleasant.

Crawford subcontracted the job to a local installer without telling me that they do this kind of thing. Much like department stores who act primarily as a sales agent. The workers who did the work were fine but there's something phony about a truck with magnetic signage that covers the identity of the true operator/owner. I thought the garage door was of average quality. The aluminum panels were VERY thin and dented very easily. (Got what I paid for? Do know.) Probably if there might be any need for follow up on the job I would probably call the sub-contractor. To my knowledge Crawford never did a follow up call.

I had an appointment for between 1 and 3 PM. When I made the appointment I explained this was for a rental property that I had to drive 1.5 hours to meet them there. At 12:45 PM I get a call saying they were going to be late and it would be closer to 4-6 PM before they could get there. When I said that wouldn't work and explained again that I had to drive 1.5 hours to meet them there the guy on the phone said "It is either 4-6 today or nothing at all. The tech that was supposed to go out there refuses to drive there. He said he isn't going there today, tomorrow or the next day". I have since called another company and I would highly recommend staying away from this company.

Our garage door was installed by Crawford Door in 1986. The reason I am writing this review in 2013 is because my husband and I have marveled at how well this door is still functioning, and we want others to know how pleased we have been with Crawford Door. In the 27 years since installation, we have had only two times when we needed to call them. Each time, they were prompt, courteous, and professional. We highly recommend them.

I called Crawford Door Co this week to have them service a garage door at a rental unit I own. They responded fast, (that same day) and worked well with my tenant. The wiring shorted out and was replaced as well as one of the door panels needed some re-enforcing. The only problem I came across was lack of communication. They did not call me to tell me what was wrong and needed to be fixed. I didn't mind but have worked with other companies that included me in decisions, especially since I'm not available to be on site. I called that afternoon to inquire about the job, and no one in the office knew about what was done. They called my tenant the next morning to provide her the invoice and collect payment. So I called them again and finally connected with someone who reviewed everything for me. The office staff were apologetic and in the end everything worked out.

They were prompt, polite, and real efficient. They cleaned up after the job was done and did the job right the first time. Would definitely recommend them.

Excellent. I had the garage door opener replaced last year by a local "franchise" door opener company. They suggested I also have the springs replaced at that time, but I could not afford what they were quoting me at that time. This year, based on Angie's list I called Crawford Door Company. The person on the phone was professional and courteous. I felt he listened and understood what I was asking. They happened to have someone available today and he showed up right on time. The service man - Jim - was friendly and professional. He did the work and paid attention to all the details, even lubricating our wood door and jamb where there is wood on wood contact with wax. He explained things well without being condescending as some repair people can be to women. Finally, the charge for the service was less than 50% of what the national franchise garage door opener company wanted to charge me last year to have the springs replaced. Talk about price gouging! I only wish I had heard of and called Crawford Door Company last year for the garage door opener!

I tried to call a couple of garage door companies after my torsion spring broke, making the door totally inoperable and nearly unliftable. All were closed at the time and I left messages. I left a message with Crawford door, and they promptly called me at 8am the next morning and scheduled a crew to come out at 2pm. One other company called me back much later in the day, but Crawford was the only one that was prompt and responsive. I came home from work to meet the crew. By that time I had managed to lift the door with great difficulty so it was open (so I could get my car out). I nipped up to the corner at about 1pm to get a sandwich, and when I returned at 1:30 the crew was there and already fixing my door! Talk about fast service! I went up to the crew leader and he said "well we were early but I figured you'd be back by 2 or sooner so we got started (cool). They explained to me that my old torsion spring was a single, and that they were installing a more typical double spring, and that the extra spring provides some protection in the case one fails (it also enables you to manually lift your door). I had pointed out that the a couple of the rollers had gone wonky, and I thought the track was out of position from my need to lift the door. He said "I know, look I've fixed them already". (He had). They were completely finished by about 2pm (when they were originally supposed to arrive), and he told me to watch a couple of things with my aging garage door opener. Then he said "if you have any problems at all, just call us". These guys were friendly, superfast, attentive to detail, and very reasonably priced. Crawford Door is awesome and efficient - a rare thing nowadays. Much recommended and I will definitely use them again. I was very impressed.
