They work on lawn mowers, generators and anything with a small engine. They have a pretty small shop. We weren't very happy with the way the service ended up. We took our lawn mower in for a second time. The first time we got it back it started up and ran and then after that it didn't work so we had to take it back to the shop. The proprietor told us that we had to provide our sales receipt to continue doing any work. We were then charged another bench fee for diagnosis and repair. They have coupons in local circulars for $40 off $80 service. We don't do a lot of lawn mower repair so we don't know about their prices. They did fix it the second time and as far as we know, it still works.

We left the mower there and waited for them to diagnose it and call us with the results. After not receiving a call for over a week we called them and they said they needed to order parts for it. Another week went by with no call, so again we called them and the parts were supposedly going to arrive that day. Another week went by with no call, so again we called them but this time the phone has been disconnected. We drove to the shop and they were still claiming to be waiting on the part (the one that they said they were to receive last week). After they called us liars, we loaded our disassembled lawn mower into the truck and took it home. Now we have a mower in multiple pieces that won't start. On the way home we drove to another shop and bought the elusive part right there on the spot, no wait. They did offer to give the $40 back. With their lack of responsiveness and telephone issue I would be worried about them going out of business. I would caution to not leave anything there at the shop, if you must go there.
Description of Work: We took our riding lawn mower in because it would not start. We paid $40 up front for them to diagnose it.

Very nice work. Quick and professional. Received an unsolicited $10 discount for being a repeat customer.
Description of Work: Had C&K tune up two MTD lawn mowers. They cleaned the engine and filers, drained oil, changed spark plugs, & sharpened blades.

The repairman greeted me and was very pleasant. He listened to the problems I was having and wrote an estimate. He called to ok fixing an un-anticipated problem and saved all parts to show me. I was very happy with the experience and work done. My only complaint (and hence a B rating instead of A) is that the original "tune up" estimate did not include parts, nor the oil disposal and shop material fees. On the paperwork/estimate the serviceman had written $50 plus parts, but I didn't realize it when I left so was a little surprised to be charged for the spark plug, air filter, shop material fee and oil disposal. (Other parts related to fixing the problem I expected). I don't feel they were trying to swindle me, I think they just need to emphasize when they write the estimate and quote the advertised "tune up" fee that it does not include parts. I later saw an ad in the paper, in the ad, it did mention "does not include parts", but I didn't have an ad when I picked them out of the phone book.
Description of Work: Tune up and diagnose/repair rough running mower.
