Great! I would hire Tom again. He was very knowledgeable, honest and trustworthy. He showed he really cares for the work he does and gives you 110 percent of a job well done. He did an immaculate job on fixing my plumbing.

We've hired Tom Allen to clear roots out of our sewer line and unclog floor drain many times. He is professional, competent, on time, considerate, clean and personable. As a woman, I feel completely comfortable having him in my home. He's an Army Vet and does not take advantage of people- only charges what he needs to. We will continue to hire him- and only him- for all of our plumbing needs. I can't recommend him highly enough,

He called back about an hour after I called him and he was at my house an hour after that. He figured out the problem, cleared the drain, and put the laundry equipment back together. Total cost was $145, which I think is very reasonable for an emergency house call..

They were able to clear the backup and get the drain functioning again. Very responsive on a short notice (same day) and very nice and professional.

I can't say enough good things about Tom Allen and his business (including Mike and Carlos with G A Hunt Excavating, who handled the excavation and new drain installation). His prices, professional conduct and quality of work stand alone in the greater Lansing area as far as I'm concerned... and I've dealt with the full spectrum of drain cleaners in the last few years, from the most well known in the area (2 come to mind) to the "craigslist snake dudes." (Just FYI - I'm cross-posting this on google reviews too.) Short story: I called Allen's Sewer & Drain Cleaning to clear and video a partially blocked clay tile main line which ended up needing replacement with PVC. I couldn't be happier with Tom, his prices or his conduct. G A Hunt Excavating out of St. Johns did a great job with the excavating. Long Story: I own a home with lots of trees on site and a (formerly) clay tile main line that I've had snaked annually by a variety of people over the last 6 years in the house. After repeated issues within the month of Nov and Dec 2016 I called Tom after a google search turned up all the positive reviews you're reading. Maybe I just got lucky but he was able to come over later that same day to clear and video/TV the main line. He was very friendly and showed up as promised on schedule. After dealing with so many professional and semi-professional drain folks over the past 6 years I was impressed at the high quality gear he brought over, considering the price he quoted. After clearing the line via basement clean-out he narrated the video exploration of my drain and it was visibly obvious that the clay tiles had reached the end of their service life - a combination of tree roots and failure of the line itself (almost 70 years, not too bad!). We discussed replacement options and I was lucky to find that the excavation crew with whom he usually works was able to squeeze me in the next morning. We kept putting off this replacement because of the anticipated cost and trouble but maybe it was just fate (or at least good fortune) delaying us until I stumbled across Tom Allen. The cost was about half what we had anticipated and took a little over a day from when he walked in the door to when the trench was back-filled. THANKS AGAIN TO ALLEN'S SEWER & DRAIN CLEANING (and G A Hunt Excavating)!! NO MORE ANNUAL SNAKING AND I STILL HAVE MONEY IN MY POCKET!

Very professional. Gave me an estimate, and then did the work in a timely manner at the quoted price. The work was flawless.

Tom arrived on-time and quickly assessed the situation. It was evident he knows what he's doing. He rapidly cleared the clogged line as well as the upstairs kitchen line dumping into it. The charge was $60 more than his usual $125 rate because of the weekend/holiday and I felt that was fine given the holiday and the fact that I didn't want to wait until the next working day (two days from now). There were a couple other plumbing issues I have been wondering about in other parts of the house (I'm a semi-experienced DIY'er and own a couple houses) and Tom gave me his opinions on those situations and it was obvious he knows exactly what he's talking about. I'll use Tom again and appreciated his responsiveness, speed in completing the job and his professionalism. The cost was very reasonable given the timing of the situation.

Arrived withing the tjme frame of when he said he would be here. He came in and knew exactly what was wrong and was done within about 20 min. Did a very good job.

He was on time and courteous. Very personable. I had complete faith in him. I would highly recommend him. It didn't turn out to be a straightforward drain cleaning as the trap mechanism had fallen into the drain, but he was able to use several tricks to remedy the situation.

We were extremely happy with them. He cleared out a drain that a plumber hadn't taken care of. He managed to cut through were the other people did not. That was the first time we used them and we were pleased with them. He got his camera in there. It turned there was a tree taper in there and that's what had plugged out our drain line. We were very satisfied with the pricing. This was a problem we had for some period of time.

This guy is really great. I called him at 9:00 a.m. He returned my call by 9:30 and was at my house by 10:30. Very friendly and professional with good sense of humor. He believes in quality and ethics. He is a veteran of the armed services. I completely recommend this service.

He is very prompt, gets back to you right away, he is very professional, and his prices are cheaper than other plumbers. His prices are very reasonable. He does his work quickly and he is just a nice person.

Tom Allen is the owner. He is real personable. He really knows how to access the situation. He saved me some money by saying that I really didn’t need to do this and what I really needed to do is this, this and this. Anybody else could have said that I needed new sink redone, new pipes redone but he didn’t and he said that if it happens again to call him. I would call him again.

When Mr. Allen arrived, I explained the problem. He had to partially unhook the stopper assmbly and quickly corrected the problem. He was professional and the fee was very reasonable. I would definitely refer him to others.

Tom is an excellent plumber. My wife found him after I tried a number of times to fix a simple drain leak in her bathroom sink. Tom came out and fixed it in no time. His charge was very reasonable. The second time we called him was about 8 months later when we had a backed up drain pipe in the basement that was a complete mess. Tom went down there through the muck with his auger and cleaned out the pipe. The nice thing about Tom is he answers his own phone, and with us both times he showed up the same day we called. He gives you an estimate at the time he reviews the job and gets right to work. He's got a nice personality, does fantastic work, and his prices are very reasonable. He travels in a converted and customized ambulance, which is usually appropriate for the urgency of the work. He's got EVERYTHING on his vehicle and doesn't need to leave the job site. I would highly recommend Tom Allen for any job. No job seems to small for him, and like he says, everyone deserves a Royal Flush!

Tom Allen was able to respond within 24 hours. He was very courteous, but began lying from the beginning. Allen stated he had once been a police officer, when in fact he has never been a police officer. I am in law enforcement and have verified this. Allen advised he would use a snake to clean the main sewer line which was backing up on the basement floor. This is the fourth time in six years I have had this line cleaned due to tree roots (various companies). Tom Allen advised me all the large plumbing companies in the area consulted him for advice because he had been around for so long. Allen told me to relax and he would take care of it. I could hear the power auger running in the basement. Allen advised the drain tiles were collapsed and he would have to dig up my front yard which would cost $2750, cash only. Allen was very pushy and wanted me to schedule the service for two days later. Allen stated he would only commit to that price if I committed to the service that day. Allen advised he was able to clear the drain somewhat, but could not guarantee how long it would last. Allen asked for a bag to put the roots in. Allen placed the "roots" in the bag and promptly placed them in the back of his truck, never showing them to me. The drain backed up immediately after he left and would not go down at all. Before Allen performed service the drain backed up, but at least drained slowly. I had another company come out for a second opinion within an hour. I was informed by this plumber that Allen often tells customers they need new drain tiles just to make money. The second plumber snaked the drain and removed a large bundle of tree roots, which he showed to me. He then placed them in a bag in my garbage dumpster. The drain works great now. The second plumber advised that there was no way Allen had snaked the drain and not been able to remove the roots. Beware of Tom Allen and Allen's plumbing. Tom Allen himself told me he digs yards and lays new tiles 7-10 times a week! The second plumber advised that is a last resort! Get a second opinion before you pay a large sum of money.

I called and received an appointment the next day. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and courteous. He asked me a few questions to properly assess the situation and then told me someone would be over tomorrow between 2pm-3pm. Sure enough shortly after 2pm I received a call letting me know that they were on their way. The serviceman politely greeted me and introduced himself upon arrival. The actual work was completed within a few minutes. The bathtub drain was working better than ever in less than five minutes. I was very pleased with speed of service and the professional demeanor of the serviceman. I highly suggest this company.
