Description of Work: All Star Mechanical installed our new duct work, furnace & AC. All Star converted us from electric baseboard heating. Our home had never had ductwork, so All Star had to configure & install the ductwork in our 2 story house. One of the competitors said it couldn't be done, but All Star did it! Great price! Great timeline for completion! In my opinion, I wouldn't even waste your time getting other bids. We wasted our time getting 5 additional bids & All Star blew away the competition w/ price, product quality, professionalism & attention to installment details.

Description of Work: Larry replaced our furnace and AC. He did a fantastic job. He made several improvements on the original design of the system. He takes much pride in his work (he should) and it shows. Picture-worthy install, truly. We are very happy with the work.

Description of Work: A month ago, after getting quotes from 3 companies, I retained All Star Mechanical to replace my central air conditioner. Its owner, Larry Kirchhoff, did the work. I was very impressed by his honesty, fairness, excellent work, and reasonable price. He responded promptly to my calls and was conscientious throughout our dealings. I strongly recommend him to others who may need heating or air conditioning work.

Description of Work: Replaced a circuit board in an older furnace. They took the time to find a replacement board an that saved me money by not needing to replace other components that would have been needed if a different board had been used.

Description of Work: All Star Mechanical removed my 30+ year old furnance and 12+ year old central air conditioner unit, and replaced both with Ruud/Rheem models. Because All Star Mechanical uses work groups composed of only one or two employees, it took them three full days to complete the job from start to finish, where as other contractors had promised to do it in one day. I went with All Star Mechanical because it offered the lowest price, and is a local, small business. No question about the quality of the work. The City Inspector was overwhelmingly impressed by the quality of work done by All Star Mechanical. He thought it was among the best residential HVAC work he has inspected over several years. When I told him who did the work, he smiled and said the high quality of work was consistent with this vendor. Overall I am very pleased. My only point of contention was that I was under the impression when I signed the contract that since I was replacing an old furnace that might have been 50-60% efficient, with a 95%+ efficient model, that I would see significant usage/cost savings. That did not happen. Per A1 Mechanical, the furnace efficiency pertained to comfort level, which is what they quaranteed; comfort level. And that it has delivered. My home was very comfortable during the past, very severe Lansing MI winter of 2013/2014, without a noticable increase in heating costs. In that regard, the new furnace passed with flying colors. The central air has performed as expected; our house is nice and cool upon demand. I would certainly use All Star Mechanical again in the future.

Description of Work: Larry installed a gas furnace including all the new ductwork in a 100yr old house that originally had a coal furnace converted to an oil furnace. This project included many challenges such as working around the many hand hewn beams and preserving the historic character of the building.

Description of Work: Larry is a very professional easy going down to earth cool guy. He gave me a discount on our new furnace and air conditioning unit and was punctual on all days scheduled to work. He explained very well the differences and choices in units he provides extremely well. I would recommend Larry to anyone. I also loved his ringtone on his cell. ( Sanford and son theme song )

Description of Work: On the first hot day of the year our air conditioner failed. After a bad experience with the utility co program we had purchased, we called All Star Mechanical. Larry called back and was in the area after spending all day in class in IN and then on the road. He made a house call and happened to have the part on his truck. He was at the house for an hour and completed the repair. He was professional and courteous. Will be giving him all our HVAC business. He didn't charge after hours fee because he was coming back from IN and driving by. Had to force him to take a small tip. Thank you, Larry!

He did not talk down to me (me, being a woman) and treated me with utmost courtesy and respect. He explained everything in detail and was very thorough. I had done some homework of my own on furnaces and types, and I was very impressed with his knowledge, background, and references. He carries the RUUD line of furnaces. Reviews of this product online indicate that installation by a knowledgeable professional installer is absolutely key to having a great running furnace with little or no problems. Mr. Kirchhoff convinced me through his previous experience and knowledge that he was that professional installer.
