The service I received was great. I called Larry at All Star Mechanical and he was out a week later; he showed up right at the scheduled time, too. He took the time to look over my furnace to familiarize himself with it as well as explained to me what he saw and possible work I would need. He did find a bit of poor craftsmanship by the original installer and fixed those issues at no extra charge (they were smaller jobs). He did the same with the A/C unit outside, too. The work was done quickly and completely overall taking less than an hour. The price was extremely fair (I used the first time Angie's List costumer coupon). I definitely will be calling again for service recommended in the fall.

He was on time and very pleasant. He repaired my AC and checked my furnace then explained what he did.

I have been planning and saving to do a total replacement of my Furnace and central air for the last few months. After meeting with several of the top rated HVAC Companies here on Angies list I settled on Larry Kirchhoff of All Star Mechanical. At our initial meeting Larry took the time to go over my house from top to bottom, measuring rooms, windows, looking at insulation. He then did the calculations for the proper sizing of the units. Once he knew what my needs were he gave me a several different options for equiptment to install. The one that really caught my attention and that I had him install was a Maytag furnace and AC units. The Maytag has the best warranty on its equiptment I found. It offers: * 12 years on parts * 12 year unit replacement if the heat exchanger fails in the first 12 years * lifetime heat exchanger replacement * 5 years on labor The 12 year parts and 5 year labor is on both the furnace and AC and is transferrable if I sell. Almost all other comparable systems were 5 years on parts and one year on labor. Larry's installation of my new furnace and air conditioner is flawless, he took the extra time to make sure all things were ran in the best fashion not just the easiest and it shows in his workmanship. As I was dealing with the companies owner/operater I appreciated that I dealt with one person from my initial contact throughout the whole install process. I would highly reccommend All Star Mechanical for your heating and cooling needs.

Furnace acted up on two occasions. Contractor responded immediately to our calls. (On the weekend) Came to our home within two hours. Troubleshot the problem & had to order the defective parts. He replaced the parts. Problem fixed. All Star Mechanical goes above & beyond what is expected. Larry is very proffesional & knows his business. I would refer Larry to anyone. Pleasure doing business with him.

I called Larry to do the furnace inspection. We scheduled a time for him to come out. He used the lock box on my door to get into the house so I didn't have to leave work which I appreciated. He sent me a report, required by the city, stating the furnace was up to code and safe to operate. He seems very trustworthy and I would call him again if I needed assistance.

When our furnace died last week I called All Star Mechanical, a family run business, based on the positive reviews I found on Angie?s List. It was the right decision. We are extremely happy with our new furnace. Larry Kirshoff conducted a thorough, room by room analysis of our home to determine the appropriate furnace size and then systematically presented us with the options. We were able to downsize our furnace and are more comfortable as a result. Even our hard-to-heat rooms over the garage are warmer. In short, we found All Star Mechanical to be competent, reliable, personable and exceptionally good communicators. This is a remarkable small business and I am confident that All Star will stand by their product and workmanship should we have any problems in the future. I am pleased to recommend them to others.

Larry had installed our furnace several years ago. Our humidifier was not working properly. Contacted him and an appointment was arranged. He called 10 minutes before the appointment to notify me that he was coming out (good customer service since most businesses just show up). After determining what needed to be done the work was finished quickly. He did not charge for the repair as he stated that work should have been done when he installed the furnace some time ago. His point was that he evaluates the entire heating and cooling system for functioning. When the new furnace was installed the humidifier should have been evaluated also. Since it wasn't the repair was free.

We needed a new furnace and central air conditioner. Larry from All Star Mechanical came to our house to present us with options and went so far as to tell us that while he would certainly install whichever one we chose, we wouldn't need the "cadillac" option for either one given the modest size of our house. The installation went flawlessly - Larry was extremely meticulous - the pieces were fit into our space like a puzzle. Furthermore, I've never worked with anyone who was more conscientious or professional. Clearly there were items on shelves in our basement that needed to be pulled down in order to accommodate the installation - but when Larry was done the items were reshelved carefully and neatly. When the project was done there was no sign that he'd been there at all - except for the beautiful new furnace and air conditioner. It's not that I'm merely happy with the experience and price I paid for the project: I simply wouldn't have another company do this kind of job for me. I would pick All Star Mechanical EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Great communication, even before arriving on-site (e.g. emails prior to visit and he called before arriving on-time). Very knowledgeable and willing to share his professional advice before starting the work.....ensuring that here are no surprises to the client. He answered my many questions without becoming defensive. You won't have to worry about him damaging your house...unlike many other tradesmen. He also took off his shoes to ensure he did not scuff up the new hardwood floors without me having to ask. Very prompt, deliberate, quality work done by a pro. I highly recommend and will use again.

Larry ( All Star Mech.) was very professional in all aspects of the installation. He presented the various options he provided with furnaces and explaining how they would apply to our household. We had a limited time frame to make the conversion, trying to use up the last of our propane without running out completely. Larry worked within our time frame to help make it all coordinate without a hitch. He communicated well and was on site when he said he would be. An overall solid experience with All Star Mechanical.

Larry says he calls his company All Star for a reason. We believe him. His service is fantastic and as a bonus, he was willing to explain everything that he was doing to my son who was interested in learning. He also went beyond the basic things he was there to do and helped with a washer and dryer hookup. That's incredible service! I would hire this company again without reservation!

I've always read that when looking for a contractor, you should get at least three estimates and check references. So when my furnace quit, I knew I was going to need some help finding a contractor and I signed up for Angie's List. Sorting the HVAC contractors in my area by rating brought All Star Mechanical to the top, with very many more reviews than the next company. I began reading them and was impressed with the very high rate of positive reviews. I think there were only a couple that had anything negative to say, and Larry had attempted to resolve them. So I called. When Larry came out to my home, it quickly became apparent why he is so highly thought of. He introduced himself, explained his business philosophy and the scope of his work, offered testimonials and pictures of past jobs, and described the features of his offerings. He examined my furnace (which had already been declared broken and obsolete), explained exactly what he would do to install a new one, and took measurements of my house and its windows and doors. While reading his reviews, I expected All Star Mechanical to be a pricier option, but the estimate I received was very competitive to what I had received from another company, and Larry had matched the furnace to my exact needs for heating the house. He also offered to fix another problem that he found which was included in his estimate. What little research I did told me that the installation is an important part of a furnace system, and I liked the fact that I would be dealing with the same individual who would sell me the furnace, install it, and service it if anything went wrong, and one who clearly cares about his reputation. I really had confidence from the start that this job was going to be done right. The installation went exactly as expected, with no suprises, and I must say I am very happy with the new system. Larry replaced a portion of the return so that the air flows across the width of the filter, rounds the corner and goes straight into the furnace. He also reworked the water heater ducts that touched his work. The temperature in my house stays more constant and even the cooler rooms are warmer than they had been. I am confident my heating bills will be lower and I like the features of the new furnace. Thanks very much Larry!

All Star Mechanical is destined to be number one among its peers in the Lansing area, based on the level of professionalism delivered to me in my recent experience with that firm. From first meeting to final project clean up nothing was left to chance. The attention to detail in product selection for my house was truely impressive. The measurment, calculation of the heat loss(winter) and the heat gain(summer), and the assesment of the duct sizing in my older home culminated in Larry delivering the most professional report on furnace and A/C sizing I have ever seen. All Star's price quotation was easily undrstood and competitive vs. other contractors sumbissions. Demolition and installation were on time and minimally disruptive and the work site was always clean and organized. The "look" of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing aspects of the work are all to the highest standards of HVAC professionalism. The final calibration and fine tuning of the system resulted in a measurable improvement of air flow delivery throughout my home as well as a perceptible improvement in comfort in all areas of the dwelling. I chose an extended service warranty and have no doubt that All Star's promise of call back response within 30 minutes 24/7/365 will be met. I plan to allow no one but All Star to service my system during the coming years. The one word summary that best describes my feeling toward All Star Mechanical and Larry Kirchhoff is "trust." I have no doubt that for all my mechanical needs in years to come, I am in great hands.

Larry quickly diagnosed the problem (flame sensor) and made the repair. In addition, he gave me some tips on how I could make the fix myself should it happen in the future, as well as some additional annual maintenance tips. He was very friendly and polite. He also honored the Angies List coupon for half off; and not reluctantly, he actually suggested it and asked if I'd seen it before I even showed him my printed copy.

it went fantastic, i had a basement drying system put in they messed up by moving my water heater this was three months after larry put it in i called him up he came out and helped me out and fixed with no hassle unlike the people who put in my basement drying system. god bless for larry

I called Larry from All Star Mechanical to schedule a check-up for our furnace. Larry came out on the scheduled date/time and inspected the furnace. I explained to Larry that other than annually changing the air filter myself, the furnace had not been professionally checked since we moved in (2007). Besides the check-up the only part needed for the furnace was a humidifier filter. Larry showed me how to replace it if I wanted to do it myself in the future. He gave me advice on a new furnace when the time came. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase something now. Larry also gave me some very useful advise on a insert for our fireplace. The vast majority of the reviews here on Angie's List are correct regarding All Star Mechanical. Larry is friendly, professional, and HONEST. I will definitely use again.
