Design One Landscape Services

I received an email with a quote a few days after purchase, and I didn't know they even came over. Scheduling was a little vague (i.e. told me I would be put on the schedule and when I called the next week to inquire they gave me a week window, no specific day) but I am not familiar with landscaping so maybe that's the norm. Overall, when the work was done it looked great.

At the beginning of the summer I found Design One on Angie's List and due to all the great reviews I set up meeting so we could discuss redoing the landscaping around our patio. The person they sent over for the consult was amazing! Her name is Carol so if you end up using Design One I would highly recommend asking for her. Our exchange was fun and seamless. I found some images online of some landscaping concepts I liked and from there we discussed budget and options based on what we were comfortable spending. Not at one point did I ever feel like she was trying to up-sell me or having anything less then our best interests in mind. About a week or so after our first meeting she came back with renderings and she knocked it out of the park! I'm stressing this because the first company I met with also showed me renderings based on my ideas and pictures and the "designer" literately came up with the complete opposite of the images I showed him and the type of design I wanted...and was over our budget. Anyhow, from there everything went smooth. We set up a date for them to come and plant (about 30 days from when I signed the contract) and we were done. Our landscaping looks beautiful and I've been out here almost everyday relaxing and enjoying the summer! Carol has followed up with me on several occasions to make sure the plants are holding up, ect. Again, I highly recommend you ask for her if you choose to have Design One come out for a consult. On a side note, I originally was going to have them replace the pavers for our patio but an acquaintance who is a contractor sold me on doing stamped concrete because it would be cheaper, still look great and he would "hook me up". Wrong! I could go into detail of the disaster then ensued by hiring this guy but I honestly don't want to waste another minute thinking about this experience. Everyday I come out here I wish I had spent a little extra money to have Design One do our pavers for the patio. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Design One. I would use them again and already have and would recommend them to friends.

GREAT! Travis was amazing. Plan was just what we had discussed. Plant selection was spot on for our most shade yard. He provided me with great guide for plant care and maintenance. He was happy to work with us and very accommodating with a few last minute changes. We have had several neighbors walking by stopping to tell us how great everything looks! I can not say enough great things about Travis. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Travis, and his team at Design One did an excellent job designing, tearing out, and installing new landscaping and hardscaping at our home. This was a large task, as both the front and back yards of our home had been neglected for several years, and most of the plants were original from the home build in 1989. It is very clear that Design One is capable and comfortable taking on large jobs such as ours, and completing them on schedule, with excellent quality, and without exceeding our agreed upon budget. As new owners of our home, we had never had extensive landscaping done, and Travis made the process as easy as possible. He was very attentive to the wants, needs, and ideas that we had, but also provided excellent suggestions regarding design and materials that would work well with our yard. He was prompt, and thorough with the design and estimate, and soon after our initial meeting, provided us with an itemized estimate for the job in writing. Travis's attentiveness, landscape design experience, and excellent communication made a job that seemed very intimidating to us, result in a yard that we can now enjoy. During the design phase, we quickly realized that there are almost endless options regarding materials and brands of lighting to choose from. Travis understood the style and look that we hoping for, and provided excellent suggestions on materials and brands to target during selection. He met us at the landscape material supplier, and spent as much time with us as we needed to look at different paver and light options. The attention and expert guidance that he provided made the selection process very easy for us. At our home, the Design One team was extremely careful with the elements of our existing landscaping that we wanted to keep. Nothing was damaged, and the guys made sure everything was neat and put away when they left for the day. Travis kept us updated each day with the progress of the job, which we appreciated since we were usually not at home while the work was being done. Design One did an outstanding job on our landscaping and hardscaping, and we will not hesitate to recommend them at any chance that we get.

The company was asked to come out before we had our graduation party and they did. Workers did a excellent job of using the material and the yard looked GREAT!! after they were finished. Thank you!!!

Terrible. I contacted this service mid to late May about landscaping/mulching a small part of my property. They got back to me after a day, and then never followed up. I e-mailed them and messaged them 4 times. No response. Very unreliable. I would not recommend them. Find someone else!

My wife and I requested and scheduled a quotation for Wed April 27. Travis Perdue, Design Consultant, showed up, we discussed the job and what was wanted. He informed me that he'd have a the quote if a few days. On Friday April 29 I received an email with two simple questions about whether I would be supplying the built-in grill for the project and the granite counter top. The questions were answered and I requested receiving the quote ASAP since other contractors quoting the job had responded within 24 hours. Travis informed me a quote would not be done until Monday May 2 or Tuesday May 3 but the real zinger came with how he ended his email with the following passive aggressive statement, ".. .if your happy with the estimates you have then you can make your decision with those and we can leave it at that." Obviously Design One does not want or need additional business. Customers must be a nuisance they tolerate because such a comment has no place in business dealings. I know because I have been a B2B sales professional for over 23 years. Caring customers shows they value the opportunity for new business, care about the customer and if timing can't be met they explain politely why and see "what is possible to do" to help the situation. Given my unbelievable experience with Travis and Design One, I will never forget this and will definitely tell everyone I know about the this. They brag about the Angies list ranking they have - honestly, Angies List really needs to consider things like my experience with Design One otherwise an Angies list ranking is meaningless and lacks credibility.

They did a wonderful job tying in to the original project by using the same stone utilized during the first phase, but also were able to complete the job quickly and cleanly. Some amazing work. The crew was stellar.

Ok. They didn't put the extra mulch where I wanted it and took the easier route of putting it at the edge instead of in the back of the bed. I would use them again but would be out there the entire time. They also blew some mulch into the lawn.

There was a misunderstanding as to when I wanted the mulch delivered. I arrived home to find them spreading the mulch before I was ready for it (needed to weed and transplant a few things). They agreed to come back when I was ready. Great job and very high quality mulch. Great customer service. would definitely use them again.

oI was immediately contacted by Theresa Whitaker right after I filled out a request for an estimate online. She came to my house the next day and completed a very thorough consultation after walking all around our property. She showed me extensive pictures of possible designs-plants-trees- etc. She is very courteous, professional and efficient. After the complete consultation she immediately set out creating a design for me. I was given the design the next day and told that they could start the gardens within a few days.The workers were here as promised- worked very hard- were also very courteous and efficient. Theresa was here to oversee- and we walked the property several times to make sure everything is what we wanted. I also had a limited budget and she worked very hard to meet that budget - varying ideas to make it work. We are very happy with all of the work and will definitely work with them again. I highly recommend this company and Theresa Whitaker!!

The initial meeting went very well. The designer was upfront with us that she was working on a large project at the moment so it would take her approx 2 weeks to get back with us with a design to review. That meeting happened on 5/21/15. Knowing that there was also a holiday weekend during that time frame I didn't think twice when I still hadn't heard anything by exactly 2 weeks. As we were approaching the 3 week mark, I received a call from the designer letting me know that she was held up with her big project, and hadn't had a chance to get started on our design yet. To this date 7/15/15 I still haven't heard back from her. Could I have called to follow up, sure thing, but during this time we had a lot of other things going on, and at first it honestly slipped my mind that we hadn't been contacted. By the time I realized how long it had been since the designer had last contacted me I felt that too much of my time had been wasted, so we moved onto another company. I'm sure their work is probably very good, but as I was never contacted again, they are not a company that I would be able to recommend. I also felt as though because I didn't want to do a huge budget project that I wasn't as important as other customers.

Took a while for us to hear from them, but the work was done very well. Mulch looks great, and the cleanup was very good.

It went great. The gentlemen showed up when they said they would, were very courteous and installed the cedar mulch that we had ordered in the places where we wanted it placed.

Very fair price for the mulch, to say nothing of having it spread. Mulch appears to be of good quality. Even, neat spreading. My only quibble is with the scheduling. The company wasn't able to give me a firm date that the work would be completed and it ended up being around five weeks or so from coupon purchase to actually having the work completed. We weren't particularly time-sensitive so it wasn't a big issue, but it's something to note. I'd have to think that a non-coupon work order would have been wrapped up sooner. Still, very satisfied with the work.

Did a nice job, cleaned up well. Thought they were going to advise when they would be there, but didn't... however, happened to arrive when I was home. Perhaps an oversight. Would hire them again...

Did a great job. They unloaded 5 sq. yards of mulch and spread it around flower beds and trees and shrubs. They got down and hand spread the mulch all around the flowers and trees. Did a very nice job, it looks very professionally done.

Excellent. I have lots of shrubs and perennials in the beds. The mulch was spread neatly around each plant. Very tidy job. I was not home to direct the crew but they knew just what to do. I typically buy bagged mulch and spread it myself but this was very convenient and professional.

A crew arrived first thing in the morning, and went right to work and did a beautiful job. They were careful of my plants that were just emerging and laid thick mulch in trouble spots. We are very happy with the results and the yard looks beautiful. Thanks So much to the whole gang at Design One Landscaping. :)

Every person that I had contact with was professional and polite. I would definitely hire this company again.
