(deleted member name) - Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I will certainly pass along the comments to the team! Our Prevent-A-MouseTM program is an effective way to solve your mouse problem. Due to the reproductive power of this animal, effective control is an ongoing battle. Our process includes a combination of caulking, rodenticide treatment and periodic followup by a Critter Catchers technician. Our initial treatment includes attic application and bait stations, as necessary. Caulking around pipe penetrations is included. We do provide entire house caulking, for an additional fee. Customers that complete the initial setup and a minimum of 3 replenishments, in a 12-month period, can have the service charge waived for the following year. We will schedule treatments to complete the program, but do not hesitate to contact us if more frequent attention is required.

I was very impressed with the service I received from Critter Catchers. Everyone I dealt with, either by phone or in person, was exceptional in their expertise and knowledge of wildlife and, in my case, how to take care of my bat problem. When the first technician, Ricky, arrived he thoroughly talked me through the process of evicting the bats. It was explained that the female bats have their babies sometime in August. So in June, they just caulk and seal the areas around the home where bats could possibly enter - leaving the one or two openings where the bats are definitely entering uncaulked. Then in August, they install "bat doors" which allow the bats inside to escape but, at the same time, no new bats can enter. Allowing the babies to leave unharmed. Then in September, after the babies have left, the doors are removed and the openings are caulked and sealed. All the technicians who came to my home and worked on this job (from June through September) were always on time, worked hard and very polite. I no longer have bats in my daughter's room or mice in the basement or attic. I was extremely satisfied with the work they did and the great services they provide. They understand what it means to provide complete customer satisfaction. If I ever have another "wildlife" situation, Critter Catchers is the only company I will call for service.
Description of Work: Bat Exclusion Program and Prevent-A-Mouse Program. My daughter had bats in her wall so I called Critter Catchers to take care of the problem. All the necessary measures were used to properly evict the bats. They caulked and foamed openings around the outside of my home where the bats could possibly enter; and caulked and installed "bat doors" in the open areas where they were certain the bats were entering the wall. The "bat doors" allow the bats already inside the wall to escape but stops bats from coming in from the outside of the house. The entire process took several months - from June to approximately September. During the inspection for the bats, it was discovered we had mice in the attic and basement. Treatment applications and bait stations were put in the attic, basement and garage. It included caulking as well.

- Thank you so much for the feedback. We REALLY appreciate the time that you took to describe your experience. Ricky is a Wildlife Biologist that recently graduated from MSU. He is currently studying toucans in Costa Rica for a portion of the winter (our slower season), but will be back chasing bats this Spring. We are able to attract talented staff because we offer our employees an attractive compensation package. We think that this is a critical component in having an excellent customer experience.

It went well. The company seems knowledgeable about bats and mice. They spent at least an hour inspecting the house and 3 hours sealing up possible entry ways for "critters" to enter. I would hire them again.
Description of Work: We suspected we had bats or mice in the attic and called this company for an evaluation. They came out and checked things out and found out we had mice in the attic. It was hard to tell if bats were in the attic since they hibernate at this time of year and we recently had new insulation blown into the attic. He distributed poison packets in the attic and the basement and gave us an estimate for sealing up the outside of the house and putting in a bat door. We followed through on this and while he was sealing up the outside he pulled out steel wool from a corner (that we had put in) and discovered bat and mice droppings. He installed the bat door and sealed up holes and crevices. The company was thorough and conscientious.

Description of Work: Very professional, very busy company. Had to wait weeks for a bat exclusion, was explained how long it would take upon my first call into the company. They not only found bats, but mice! Now, no bats (so far...) and mice are dead. $1,600 for the bat exclusion, and the other $200 for the initial inspection/mice control program.

Member - Thank you so much for your feedback. Your assessment was accurate (we are extremely busy in the summer). The interesting thing about our business is that is challenging to properly staff for the demand. Our business has 4 distinct seasons, and our business demand change with the seasons. It seems that we are understaffed 3 months of the year...over staffed 3 months of the year...and have perfect levels for 6 months. We keep our team throughout the various seasons because we realize the importance of having well trained staff to perform bat exclusions. At the time you booked the exclusion, we were running quite a backlog of work...and I understand the B rating on responsiveness. We do run logistics software to maximize the efficiency of our routing and manage our technicians time. We do have dedicated phone support, so you can be sure to reach us 7 days per week. We are a growing business and are planning to add our 5th truck (and 2 new hires) in the Spring of 2013 - VERY EXCITING! The last new hire was a recent graduate of MSU and is a Wildlife Biologist. We do compensate our employees well, which may contribute to the B rating on price. Many customers appreciate the good quality work. Our bat exclusion prices vary depending on the size, condition, and complexity of the home. We appreciate your business, feedback, and overall A rating.

Member: Thank you so much for the feedback. We started your bat exclusion during the maternity season (where baby bats can't fly). We completed all the caulking and screening of vents, but we did not install the one way doors to evict the bats. By waiting, we allow the babies to mature to a point where they can fly. This process helps the bats - AND it helps protect your family. If we were to install the one-way doors, then we may increase the risk for baby bats to fall on the ground and be accidentally handled by pets or children. By being patient, we can reduce risk and solve your bat problem in a humane manner. Thank you so much for your feedback and understanding of our bat exclusion process!

Critter Catchers placed live traps over two of the big holes. They captued 3 groundhogs and an opossum in 4 days. Vonnie answered the phone every time I called, even very early in the morning. Both Brian and Corey came out on multiple occasions to set traps, retrieve the animals, and re-set the traps. Brian also did a thorough inspection of our yard and house. He even went into the attic on one of the 100 degree days! We are very happy with this service. It is a bit more expensive than others I called, but we would use them again because of the excellent service.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback! I just wanted to remind you that our trapping customers may have the traps reset (for no charge) for a period of 1 year. This is helpful, if another problem critter moves into the area. There is only the animal capture fee, if we are successful. We certainly do appreciate the nice comments. We post this feedback in a common area that the team can review at the start of the day. I frequently see them looking at the comments - and they sure brighten up.....even when one of those 100 degree days is upon us! We know just how important it is to inspect attics...who really wants to go up there? We inspect every attic, unless a customer declines access.

I pay $130 per year and $65 every time they come out. My experience went pretty good. I might use them again. Update 6/14/2013. Their "prevent-a-mouse" program -- After four "replenishments" over the last 12-15 months and several $ hundreds of dollars, I'm still getting mice. In fact, I've gotten more than a few myself using spring traps and Hershey's chocolate. I'm also getting mice nests in areas of my basement rim, because they only put their "bait stations" in the corners and don't even bother to look and see if they should focus their attention to any other areas. I was starting to wonder about why I was continuing to feed this company money while still getting mice. They aren't interested in figuring out where mice are coming in, how to prevent that. Just try to see if the customer will keep paying for a service to have their "technicians" come out and replace the bait. After listening to every excuse and analogy in the world, I finally asked VONNY, their customer-service firewall, if the owner would like to come and re-a**** the situation. More excuses and reasons why he wouldn't be doing that, and how maybe I'm not a "good fit" for their service. Are you kidding me?

Member: Thank you for the feedback. Our initial service call ($129) included an inspection of your home - top to bottom. Our service call has been the same for the past 7 years. We go inside your attic(s) and also inspect basement(s). Many find this to be a value...who goes inside their attic? The inspection includes a written report of our findings. If you complete the prevent-a-mouse program (initial setup & 3 replenishments)....we waive our service call for the second year. There is no obligation to complete the program, so you can control your cost. The flexibility of this program is a benefit, because you are not locked into a monthly/quarterly program.

Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate that you mentioned that we release the critters. Many of the critter problems that we manage involve relocating the animal back into the natural environment. In 2011, we acquired approximately 15 acres of private high quality habitat. Approximately 13 acres of the land is mature oak & hickory forest. The land is surrounded by approximately 5400 acres of State land. Photos of the property are located on our website. Other critter issues, such as bat problems, involve an exclusion. In this case, the bats are locked out of your home using caulking techniques combined with a one-way valve that allows them to leave unharmed. We do utilize pesticides for rodents, such as mice. Mice only live 1 year, and reproduce rapidly. Pesticide, used in the correct manner, will solve mice problems and prevent re-establishment of the population in your home.

All work was professionally executed and completed as promised.
Description of Work: In January Critter Catchers technician removed a bat from our basement. The bat was trapped in our house and could not find its way out. Then in the Spring, Critter catchers performed their exclusion service on our home, this is a process whereby the home becomes bat proofed. On both occasions the technicians arrived on schedule and provided a thorough explanation of the work to be performed. All personnel are friendly and professional and they guarantee their work. Member: Thank you so much for the feedback! Our bat exclusions come with a 1 year service agreement. One of the important components of a service agreement (over a guarantee), is that it includes omissions and errors. For example, if the bats find an opening that we did not seal, we come back and seal it up for NO additional charge. This goes a step further than guaranteeing only the repairs that we made. After all, many wildlife control firms use the materials such as caulk or screen. Please be sure to give us a call, if you hear any activity, and we really appreciate the good marks! Our technician biography’s and photos are posted on our website.

Thank you for considering our services for a second time. Unfortunately, since you moved to California, it is outside our service area. We are a SE Michigan based company, and our territory is noted on our website and the Angies list profile. Our services are in demand, and there are times that we do not accept new customers. It would be challenging to provide excellent service, if we accepted every opportunity that was available, so we manage our service territory and accept new customers accordingly. Similar to your favorite doctor's office, we continue to provide services to customers that we have done business from in the past. We value our customer base, and we would be happy to help. Unfortunately, California is just too far from Michigan!

We determined we had bats in our attic and needed them gone. Called Critter Catchers and explained to Vonnie what we needed . She took a lot of time on the phone to explain what they do and how they do it. I appreciated that their methods are sensitive to the health of the bat colony ( bats are beneficial to have around , just not in the attic) The work crew came out and installed the doors at all entry points once they felt the young bats were able to fly and leave the nest. They returned once the colony was gone and sealed up all entry points. This was done last fall and as of this spring there are no signs of the colony returning. Very satisfied with the service. The times I called to speak to Vonnie, it was apparent they were always busy, she would typically take my name and promise to call back, she never failed to return my call in a short time. Very well run small business.

Critter Catchers took care of a very difficult raccoon situation we had. Raccoons had invaded the attic area and got into some interior walls. We tried another company before contacting Critter Catchers. They were professional, patient and methodical. Their Techs took the time to answer our questions and explain what they were doing. It took a few weeks to totally get rid of the animals. I would highly recommend Critter Catchers.

The company was very responsive and friendly; however, it was expensive. Service call was approx. $130 for someone to go in the attic & identify where the bats got in. They charged $950 to remove the bats, which was simply putting a PVC pipe for them to fly out which they can't fly back in, then patching the holes. Total time was approximately 3 hours for one person. The cost doesn't include removing bat droppings. The serviceperson said that would cost "hundreds" more for them to remove.

We had put a trap out prior to contacting them. Instead of a ground hog, as young raccoon had found its way in. Critter Catchers took the raccoon away and put out new traps for us. We believe the raccoon scared off the ground hog and when we called Critter Catchers about it, they nicely came and took everything away. We will be contacting them in the future if we ever get anymore unwelcome critters. :)

Very well. I called on a Saturday morning and a technician arrived by 2:00 pm that same afternoon. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice, personable and seemed to care about my current situation and getting someone to me asap. She provided me with a list of things they could do, as opposed to what they "couldn't" do - which I liked. I went with this company because not only was their service fee $30 cheaper than a pest control company, but she didn't place me on hold at all, as as I previously mentioned, she was kind and very pleasant to work with. Basically, she explained that their would be a $129 service fee to have the technician come out and check my attic, roof, etc. to determine what I had living in my home. From there she explained what I would further be charged depending on what they found. When the technician arrived I explained my scenario to him. He immediately assured me that it probably wasn't a raccoon, since I rarely heard any noise. He was a nice young man - well mannered. After going through the attic he told me I had mice (ewww!) :) For an additional $69.99 he laid mice poison in the attic. He explained that it could take a few days for it to work completely, but that it would in fact work. I was concerned with the mice dying in my attic, however, he explained that this poison would make the mice thirsty, so they would end up leaving my home in search of water - and die outside of the home. The tech spent 30 minutes here - it was simple. He also told me that the $129 service fee I paid was good for a year, so should I have any other animal concerns - I should call them - which I will. The tech was very nice, not pushy - a pleasure to have in my home. I would recommend this company.

It went very well. They are a humane company--they did not kill the bats, but they made it so the bats can not get back in. I called them and they came out the next day to assess the problem, and then they started the exclusion. They always answer the phone I never got an answering machine. They were not cheap, but they did a good job.
Description of Work: I hired them to get a large colony bats out of my attic and they also performed clean-up afterward.

Thank you for the response. Our prices are competitive with other companies especially if you consider the amount of caulking that we complete. Bat exclusions require extensive sealing of the home and we address areas that are skipped by others. We compete on exceptional service and exceptional credentials.
