+ 0 moreMuch of the work was done while not at home. We were kept up to date with calls, texts and pictures. The old deck was torn down first. Since the footings were only 18" deep, they had to do new footings. Over the course of the next 5-6 days they built the new deck based on my plans. It was executed perfectly and looked just like I had imagined it would be. It's been up since 2012 and is still sturdy, and everything has held up very well. I requested CertainTeed composite decking and they were able to get all of the parts without any problems. During construction they found a but of water rot in some of the wood of the house under where the old deck attached to the house. They replaced all of the wood and added a couple of other measures to keep water out for no additional charge. Dan is very responsive and professional. He is honest and up front on costs and timeframes. I would trust them to work with me again.
Description of Work: Using my design Castles & Cabins built a large, high quality, composite based deck with stairway from second level to the ground. The railing is vinyl. The deck has one surface but is kind of L-shaped. The house has a walkout basement and the deck was built off the upper level so it's about 10' off the ground. A stairway with a landing halfway down connects the deck to the ground.
