 + -1 moreThe work was performed at an A plus rating, but getting Jason back for a small call back sand and seal was tough.
Description of Work: Jason was fun to work with and was the one that did the work. We ordered knotty hickory and he site sanded it and sealed it with Bona and it looks beautiful. He worked every day till it was completed to our liking. The only problem I had with Jason was getting him back for a rough spot to re sand and seal. The spot was only 3 inches in diameter. I called about 5 times, saw him at a friends home and mentioned it but he still didn't come over. Finally I saw him at his showroom and he came over and fixed the spot. I know he is very busy doing floors but call backs are important to take care of.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. They first pieced new wood in the places that had been cobbled by previous owners...also replaced a threshold which looked much better. They came in with a huge sander and took off all the old finish... even offered ear plugs to us as we were working elsewhere in the house and it was LOUD. Then, he helped us pick out the stain color and they put on several coats of finish (I believe 3). This was all done in about 2 days; coming to put coats on, then leaving so they were not full days. Probably, the only fault (which was small) was that they were a little messy when they put the varnish down around the registers and some went around the cracks down to the basement....also a few small holes did not get filled in. I'm sure if we had mentioned it they would have come back, but we chose not to. Positive features that we liked: -communication was excellent: always returned our calls and answered our questions -worked with us, telling us ahead when we could walk on it, etc (this was important to us since we were working on the house at the same time -didn't cut corners on the finish.....used the best stuff on the market. -a small company so the owner helped do the work and it was always supervised by him -his 3 assistants were excellent AND personable -gave us good instructions in how to care for the floor and gave us a mop and the cleaner. -told us to be sure to call if there were any problems at any time, as they could repair damages, etc. All in all......an excellent experience, worth the money (carpeting costs, too), excellent to work with and we have beautiful floors as a result! Description of Work: We purchased an older house with wooden floors in the dining room, living room, stairs, and small hall. They were in sad shape, very worn and had wood pieced in to close off registers, etc. We knew it was far too much work for us to tackle and we were under a time-constraint before relatives would need to move in. They did not want carpeting and I knew refinished floors would be beautiful and add to the value of the house. So, I called two finishers for estimates. Both were recommended to me from a carpet store that I had dealt with. Real word Floors returned my call and came out when they said they would for the estimate. I told them about our time concerns and he reasssured me they would be able to work us in. I asked if I could do the stairs myself and he said, Yes, that would save quite a bit of money and he would even supply me with the finish at no cost, so it would all match. After we accepted his estimate, but before they came to do the work, I had second thoughts about doing the stairs myself, so called back and asked him if they could possibly do the stairs, and the small hall, too. NO problem, was his reply, and he told me roughly how much more it would be. By that time, the "sticker shock" didn't seem so bad, and it seemed like a deal to have the extra work done by them! They sanded everything down, stained the wood, and finished it. Absolutely beautiul when they were done.

 + -1 moreJason and Real Wood Floors came highly recommended by a friend. I feel they were a little pricey but they proved to be worth it. They did a wonderful job. Jason is very knowledgeable and very educational about the type of floors I have. He's punctual, is where he says he'll be when he says he'll be there, and completed the job when he said he would. Service after the sale is very good
Description of Work: They sanded and refinished the 700 sq ft of oak floors in my 1958 Ranch for what had to be the first time since installation.
