 + -1 moreIt was a difficult project, but not due to Argel. First, the scope was huge, and, second, I delayed the start of the project selecting materials just long enough to get to execute the project from long distance. I wound up transferring out-of-state as the project really got going. Considering the added responsibility and burden of coordinating with me, Argel did a fantastic job. The work was great, helped us sell the house, and Argel is a very patient guy.
Description of Work: Argel helped me firm up plans and then executed the complete remodeling of 3 bathrooms in our 100 year old home in Kalamazoo. The master bath was completely redone. The guest bath and first floor half bath were 90% redone. Walls, flooring, tile, cabinets, fixtures, and lighting were all redone. I think the only thing that stayed in the rooms was one bath tub and the doors to the rooms.

 + -1 moreArgel Irish and his carpenter Terry were meticulous in all details of the preparation and installation of the walls, flooring, cabinets, back splash and finishing details. When my source for the countertops and quot;disappearedand quot;. Argel arranged installation of premium, custom granite countertops (with a hanging style sink) in less than a week including a custom window shelf that is separate from the main counter. Argel notched the window frame in one place which allowed the use of a full upper corner unit rather than have an unusable void. - I would recommend Argel Irish to others.
Description of Work: Provider installed insulation, subflooring (similar to cement board) and laid tile including grouting and sealing. -- Assembled cabinets purchased by me and installed cabinets. Constructed finishing touches such as custom window frames to match unique dimensions and allow a much improved selection of cabinet dimensions. Constructed custom stairs of clear finish maple to match cabinets. - Added clear tiled backsplash. - Created external vent path for over the stove microwave.

 + 0 moreWe hired him in December 2009 to redo the main floor. He gave us a quote, that turned out to be very accurate considering the size of the job, and he got right to work a week later. As we added more stuff to the job he was able to satisfy all our requests and we ended up redoing the basement and another bathroom. He even fixed some issues we had with other contractors as to make sure the home was done correctly. If you want a beautiful home that is quality work than I highly recommend. Quality comes at a price but its worth it as an investment.
Description of Work: He took a home from the 1950s that needed to be completely gutted and he remodeled it all. Him and his crew took it down to the bones and rebuilt a beautiful home that my wife and I absolutely love. Overall - New floors, new plumbing, fixed leveling issues, opened layout, new insulation, changed bedroom into giant master bathroom, 3800 sq. ft. totally redone to make this 1950s home look like it was just built yesterday. Kitchen - Took an 8'' tall kitchen that was made for the 50s and opened the layout to the living room to give it a modern touch. He found hidden space to make the ceilings closer to 12'' tall which makes it feel so much bigger. Living Room - The view of the lake was small so he tore down two walls and put in brand new energy effecient windows that gave us 50% bigger view of the water. Master bathroom - The 1950s master bath was changed to a laundry room and the new one was formed from an old bedroom. Beautiful double shower and two sink setup. Basement - Added insulation and a new bar to make this place a true place for me (the husband) to enjoy my own space. Bedrooms - Remade the closets for more space Tons of behind the wall improvements such as electricity and pipes being done right.
