Description of Work: Leaking everywhere.so many repairs.so much money.the owner did and does not care.roofs should last for 20-50 years...it's been 5... I have no receipt and he has no records. Very rude...lots of damage and I need to pay for another whole roof...been trying to fix the leaks separately but there is too much damage. I have been ripped off very badly. Costing me so much money.lies about being insured. Funny how he has no records but cam remember my house number and street...he actually yelled at me over the phone....like I'm making this all up...do not recommend at all. I had no idea anyone cam start a business.I don't think he's ever been on a roof. He sent some shady people I didn't feel comfortable having in my yard.not the professionals I was expecting...what I paid for...

they didnt finish the flashing around the chimney. said theyd come back after i had it grouted. I had it done and tried to call them 3 times then gave up. when i finally went up to start construction on the empty space i notice leaking around the chimney and that they didnt replace the boards with decking , leaving huge gaps in between planks and huge nails sticking out. the water damage is so bad . i have to call my insurance company and may have to sue for damages for i cannot afford to replace all the wood and electrical work. the water leaked so much my floor boards are soaked and wont dry. i have children that need bedrooms and had to threaten him with a lawsuit to comeback. when he finally came and saw the damage he acted like he didnt care and instead of helping me, he took off and just said he would send his guys out. well ...no one came .i called again. he again said he came and took care of it. he absolutely DID NOT. he was unfriendly and unprofessional and because of his shoddy workmanship the entire side of my roof needs to be replaced. they also left their mess. my attic has no walls so i can see everything. everything went on the floor, nails, roof pieces, lots of black sticky mess. it looked like a dirt bomb went off in my attic. and the wood around the chimney is so rotten i could stick my hand through it. and wet. everything is wet. i even showed him how the water was leaking straight down into an electrical switch and down that board to the floor that formed a sizable wet stain that wont dry on the floor. he is totally aware of this situation and does not care. I have to replace my floor, electrical work. wood around the chimney, which he could have clearly seen when the roof was off when he was working on it. i think since i dont have a husband that he figured he would just take advantage of me. I just want my roof fixed. it says licensed and insured on his business card. he has not contacted me. the last time i called he yelled to me that he had been here . i didnt let him in the house so i know he WAS NOT here. he left me with a huge mess, and i have to go through so much now. its so stressful having a leaking roof and your roofer you hired keeps telling you its not leaking, i have about $10,000 in repairs i dont know how ill pay. and a wet attic roof and floor. MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD WITH A SERVICE PROVIDER ......

I contacted Steve (owner) at Home Siding and Roofing from a referral from a local supplier (Siding World) in desperation. I had planned on replacing the shingles myself, but there was more damage to the roof deck than I had anticipated. I started to tear the old shingles off and the roof decking was coming up with the shingles and I didn't like being up 2 stories over a concrete patio. After I decided that it was beyond my abilities, Steve came out and gave me an estimate that seemed fairly reasonable. I was supplying the plywood, underlayment and ridge vents. A few hours after he left, he called me and let me know that if I would like them to do the work, he would send out a crew to cover the area that I had removed until they could begin work. After a few more estimates, 2 higher and 1 lower, I let Steve know that I would like to hire them to do the work. As far as the other companies that gave estimates, I wasn't as comfortable with them as I was with Steve. A few guys came out the next day to put tarps over the area that I had removed. It would be about 2 weeks before they could begin work. We had several very strong rain storms and the tarps held up and I didn't have any leaks. Steve was worried that the 4 sheets of plywood that I supplied would not be enough to cover the damaged decking and said it would be $55 per sheet beyond that if we needed more. I was hoping for the best, but prepared to pay if I needed to. As Steve had anticipated, the work began about 2 weeks later. His crew of 2 guys were very efficient and professional. I had neighbors comment on how fast they worked. They removed the old shingles and put up the IWB and underlayment in a day. They then went to work on the damaged decking. Steve contacted me as he was concerned about the repairs. The damage was above the cathedral ceiling and they needed to sister 2x6's to the current rafters. He thought that when they nailed to the rafters that it may damage the drywall on the ceiling. He asked me to sign a waiver relieving them of any damages incurred. I was hesitant, but I didn't feel that I had much choice. He assured me that they would be as careful as possible. I happened to be home when they were working on the rafters and there was absolutely no damage to the ceiling. The 4 sheets of plywood were enough, so there were no extra charges. The rest of the work went as planned and the roof looks and functions great. The guys cleaned up everyday and were very professional. I would recommend them.
