BEWARE,BE INFORMED, BE SMARTER THAN ME Great Lakes waterproofing of Kalamazoo Michigan Salesman don joyner Manager Charlie hill Expert?..Brad Rowgo 4 1/2 years and over $10,000 paid to them and all three areas still leak Requested refund, they denied. They offered me $1200 Do not sign their contract without adding a safety net for yourself, have a lawyer review. They now blame my landscaping which hasn’t changed in 10 years. They also had the nerve to say I should now buy their sump pump package. There is nothing wrong with my sump pump. THE ONLY GUARANTEE IS THAT NEXT TIME IT RAINS, ILL HAVE WATER IN MY BASEMENT BEWARE BE INFORMED

We had a big leak under the basement stairs in the front of the house and a couple of small leaks in rod holes in the back of the house. The company used their Bentonite system 2 times on the outside of the house without much improvement in the stairs leak, so they installed the drain tile system there (no additional charge, covered by their warranty.) This still didn't fix the leak, so hey had to go into the wall to discover holes behind the basement stairs. They filled them and no more leak! They also filled the rod holes in the back which were not part of the initial estimate at no charge. I give Great Lakes high ratings because they honored their warranty and kept coming back until our problem was solved. Their employees, especially Josh, were excellent!

They've been out to my house 6 times now and have not properly waterproofed the basement. They are now not returning calls. I've still had trouble with water coming in the basement but they claim they did not guarantee the work. The salesman guaranteed that they would waterproof the basement properly when I originally set up the work with him. Last summer I contacted them to come back out because of water in the basement but they never got back in touch with me. I felt their price was acceptable if the waterproofing had worked. I chose them specifically because of the warranty and their price.
Description of Work: They guaranteed waterproofing my basement and also told me they would warranty the work. They stated they would come back to do the work again if it didn't waterproof the basement properly.

It was good. They did have to come back a few times to get the leak to stop, but it was successful. The water was coming into our basement from outside and they had a unique way of dealing with leaks. They trench into the ground and they put a chemical into the ground that expands and prevents the water from getting into the basement. You have to wait to see if it works and they may have to come back. It took 3-4 months for us. It was a lot less expensive than if we had to completely drywall. We were satisfied with the experience and I’ve recommended them as well.

The waterproofing team was awesome. I had my basement evaluated for waterproofing because of some water seeping between the floors & walls during hard rains on a wall in the basement. They recommend using a Volcanic Ash grout like injection into a 10-12 foot section of the outside of basement, in the where we were seeing the water. They were in and out in less then 3 hours and we haven't seen a leak in a month. Time will tell - but they stand behind there work and it has a lifetime guarantee. So right now its all good.

Description of Work: I called this company when I found water leaking into the basement of the house I had just purchased. I had several quotes and they were by far the most affordable and least invasive. They came and injected the volcanic ash material into the foundation. After 30 days they had to come back because the basement, was still leaking. When they injected again, I stayed in the basement while they did the work. Eric came in, not realizing that I was there and started to look and see if they were pushing the foundation wall in (which they were). He said "oops, sorry I didn't realize you we there. This is the part that the homeowner isn't supposed to see". After another 30 days, the basement was still leaking so they came back again. They were apparently sending the "supervisor" but nope, it was Eric again. He was going to inject again but I didn't let him because the bricks were shifting from the last two times. He told me that I would most likely have to brace my wall (at my expense). He then told me it would be several thousand dollars to trench the inside of the house. I told him that I had a guarantee and wasn't going to pay another penny. They then offered to trench the inside (only in the area that I paid for) in order to direct the water into the floor. They came back again with one supervisor, and one worker who spent the day trenching the inside, putting PVC pipe down, gravel, and drilling holes in my cinder blocks like Swiss cheese, and hiding it all with cheap looking backer board. So basically the are directing the water into my basement floor and holding it against my footer which will eventually disintegrate it (since they didn't run the water to anywhere-the proper thing to do would have been to run it to the sump pump). I have had them back twice since they did the work since it still leaks. They put clear caulking into the hole in my cinder block above the backer board and in the crack where my wall has pushed in. Their answer to me is that if it continues to leak that I need to install another sump pump at the cost of $1500. Don't believe any guarantee from this company. They will brag about their AAA rating with the better business bureau. It doesn't mean anything and the fine print of their contract states that they are not responsible for collapsing your foundation, or any mold created by their work etc. Don't let these guys ruin your house like they have ruined mine!

My phone message was answered within a few hours, and an inspector was out the next day. In a couple of days a workman came to the house and repaired the leaks within a couple of hours.
Description of Work: Leaking basement was repaired by sealing cracks from the outside. New garden was NOT disturbed as workman used an injection technique instead of digging.

Start to finish.Overall he was very pleasant and truthful from start to finish of the inspection.
Description of Work: Phone call made and spoke with owner himself Mike Guwca who set up and appointment and came when he said he would. I was having a problem with my basement leaking and though I needed waterproofing. Mike came out looked at where I said the water was coming in went outside and looked around with me at his side. After doing a inspection he was very honest with me and told me that I needed to have my gutters done and not waterproofing. I was quite pleased with him because he did not try to sell me something that I did not need. When I do hear of someone needing waterproofing I will definitely refer them to Great Lakes Waterproofing. It is so nice to deal with a company and a person of integrity.
