Very good service. The lady who answered the phone was very helpfull. The serviceman was on time and dealt with a tricky problem. The charge was was reasonable.

Overall it was a great experience. They were very professional. The new heating/ac system works very well.

We needed a new furnace. We checked lots of reviews and chose 4 companies to get estimates from. Bartholomew's took more time doing the estimate and I felt that they really looked at everything and make sure there would be no surprises at installation time. Their prices were the best, and they really worked with me to get the best, most efficient, but also cheapest unit for our house. When I had questions, I got a quick callback with the answers. Upon installation, the installers worked quickly and efficiently. They left the basement very clean. We are very happy with Bartholomew's and would recommend them to someone else.

Overall the installation went as expected.

I have used several local heating/air conditioning companies over the past twenty years. I stopped using several for lack of good service when needed. I can call Bartholomew and their response for emergency repair has always been a matter of hours not days. I am totally satisfied with their service.

Thad arrived only a few minutes after the arranged time. He was polite and accommodating. He laid down sheets to cover the floors and stairs in the house. He worked quietly. It took about 2.5 hours. He cleaned up the mess and explained how to operate the water heater. He said that the city inspector would come to check it out. The city has not yet called. The hot water heater is insulated so he told me that we no longer needed our blanket around the heater. Also, he explained that a match is no longer needed for ignition. The reason I put responsiveness as a B is because I called on one day and was told I would receive a phone call back the same day for an answer to one question but did not receive a call that day. I was expecting a phone call the next day for a more extensive answer to all my questions which did occur.

Brad was outstanding; I strongly recommend him. He looked over my system, then sat down and inquired about what was important to me in considering my options. He volunteered there were already exemptions for historic, multi-family units in the pending 2013 law (he actually went to Washington and provided input into the new law). Also, my furnace was a 1999 and had a 20year warranty so I would likely receive compensation to repair it if it broke before 2019. When I mentioned I would likely only be in the condo a few months a year, he noted that replacing my furnace/AC would not be cost effective ("to be honest, you'll not live long enough to recoup the cost of the units & installation from any improved efficiencies").

Thad and his team were very easy to work with. They were professional, punctual and cleaned up very well after themselves. You would have never known they did any work at the house (other than the improved heating / cooling capabilities of our furnace & AC).

They were very good. They came right out and helped us. They went through the whole ordeal. We had no problems with them. We probably found them on Angie’s List. We would recommend them.

Because we live in a log home we are probably more aware of the final look of any work completed on our home. We had specific requirements about how the units were to be installed The team, from Thad who quoted the products to Tim and Bill who installed the units the whole team wnet beyond what we expected. They were very conscious of our concerns about not having any plumbing exposed even though we have logs not drywall and Tim and Bill worked very hard to achieve our goal. The final install is outstanding and the units work very well. We are amazed at how quiet Fujitsub units operate, both the inside and outside units, you can barely notice the sound. Overall the team delivered on a very challenging install and exceeded our expectations. Job well done!!!

Very quick response on the estimate, but the actual work took about 4 weeks to get on their schedule. Once that date came, they arrived on time and were very professional and polite. The bill was mailed to me with no additional charges, just the exact amount of the estimate.

I contacted Bartholomew the morning after I discovered that I had no heat. I believe the temperature was in the 30-40 degree range, not freezing, but definitely cold enough to appreciate having heat. The person in the office, who was extremely personable, told me she would call back shortly and let me know if a repair person could come that day. She called me back within the hour and said that she could arrange for someone to be there between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. I work so she indicated someone would call me about 15 minutes prior to arrival. They communicated as promised and I met the service person at the house. He quickly determined that I needed a new control panel and said he would try to procure one. As it turned out, he wasn't able to locate the specific control panel for that make and model of furnace. However, he installed a generic panel so that I would not have to spend another night without heat. He was able to obtain the proper control panel the next day and came back and installed it. They only charged me for one service call I would highly recommend Bartholomew. They went "over and above" to insure that I would not have to go without heat.

We called. They came on the same day of the call. Had everything completed in a day and water heater was replaced under warranty. They came when they said, were cheerful and clear in what was needed. Have now set up a contract with them for annual maintenance.

What we set out to do was upgrade and modernize our 50+-year-old heat system, plus, install some sort of more efficient air conditioning than what we've had. Russ Bartholomew helped us design the systems, gave us honest, accurate estimates, helped us think through the best options for our applications, advised us on what options made sense for us, and suggested options that we'd not thought of or never new about. Russ is a terrific guy to work with, easy-going, no pressure, and extraordinarily helpful. Oh, and honest, too. We did the work in two stages, which Bartholomews were very happy to accomodate. The installers showed up as planned, and worked diligently the entire time they were on-site. The minimized any mess in the work areas, and cleaned up after them selves before leaving the site. The work they did is fabulous, in fact, another workman looked at the copper piping that Bartholomews installed and declared the whole thing "a work of art." Overall, the project was superior, from start to finish.

The owner, Thad Bartholemew interviewed us regarding shortcomings of the installed system. He took temperature and air flow measurements in every room. He discussed his recommendations and our budget and bid a variety of configurations from the Volkswagon to the Cadillac. He was not the cheapest but his personal engineering interest in solving some of our comfort issues and his analytical bent suggested to me his crew and it's work would be of excellent quality. At the time of installation the technicians were on time. They were quiet and professional in their conduct letting us know when and for how long they were needing to be in the primary living spaces that my wife were working out of. They asked questions when their were homeowner preferences and patiently and happily took the time to explain principles of operation and the energy consumption trade-offs of different usage patterns. After the sale Thad has offered to come by and make sure we are satisfied with the results of the firms work. I scheduled that interview out a couple of weeks in order to allow us to use the system and develop some questions about how it is to live with the system.

Technician arrived early. Performed necessary work efficiently and professionally. Cleaned work area.

They arrived on time, got right to work, did a great job, and were courteous throughout.

Answered call and got us a serviceman right away. (I think we were a bit lucky there.) Jason was our serviceman. EXCELLENT! Very knowledgable. Came in and got to work. Found the problem, replaced a piece, and reset everything back into place. Checked the venting and pilot light efficiency. Honored our coupon. Had a clear estimate right up front. Very happy with the service and communication.

Found this company (Bartholomew) while searching for Goodman authorized repairers. Noticed they were on Angie's List. Their ratings don't lie they are that good. I purchased a new Goodman brand A/C system in 2009 and ever since it was installed I've been trying to get the guy who sold it & installed it to fix a noise. Well after 2 years and numerous calls & emails he's basically entered the witness protection program. He won't be safe here because I will post on him also (C&N Heating & Cooling-Hastings, MI- Mike Brownlee). Bartholomew not only fixed our A/C but aso replaced my furnace blower wheel and my water heater ventilation all for the original quote they gave me to just fix the A/C. The air conditioner hadn't been working for a few weeks and the forecast looked like we were not going to get any relief so I broke down, checked Angie's List and found Bartholomew's. The woman who answered the phone asked me to describe the problem. I told her that the air conditioning unit and condenser seemed to be running but the air blowing out of the vent would start out cold and then gradually only blow warm air. She suggested it could be a problem with air intake and to check the air filter or check for weeds around the condenser. I told her that those shouldn't be the problem because I'd changed the filter and there were not enough weeds to bloke air intake and she said if I had a couple moments, she could explain what another problem could be. She took a few moments to explain what could be happening if the system needed to be recharged. I scheduled an appointment two days out. The technician was scheduled to arrive between 9 and 11a.m. and he arrived between 9 and 9:30a.m. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The technician, Jason, asked for information, troubleshot the problem and found that the capacitor was shot inside the old condenser. He replaced it, tested to make sure that it was operating correctly and that the unit was cooling properly. He was thorough, explained about the systems and gave me information about what to expect in the future. Overall, it was an absolutely great experience. I spent less than I expected to but that's thanks to what the problem actually was. I was afraid that my system needed to be recharged but a $4 part plus labor made it a nice, reasonably priced solution. I will absolutely call Bartholomew the next time I have HVAC issues!

Very good experience with Bartholomew. Installers arrived on the date and time promised. Installers were very professional. They laid a protective sheeting down our carpeted stairs so that they did not get them dirty when they had to go in and out of the house. They cleaned up after themselves before they left. Overall, we were very pleased. We will use them again and we will recommend them.

The technician arrived on time. He stayed friendly and professional despite working outside through a pouring rain. He was honest and informative. He let us know the system was low on coolant but that he couldn't find a leak. He speculated that it might be related to the missing valve cap, but he couldn't be certain since that is where his test equipment attached. He let us know the system seemed to be working well otherwise but was getting old (over 18 years old). He outlined the costs and risks of replacing the system versus recharging it and let us make the decision. We chose the recharge and so far the system is working great.
