Ben, Owen and Ben's subcontractors worked to put a beautiful addition on the back of our home. Ben is one of the most hard working people I know in this business. I'm pretty sure that he barely sleeps! He was extremely attentive and present during our entire project which started in September and finished in December. His network of subcontractors and the people he recommends is also very strong. Working on a project of this magnitude requires a lot of work for both parties. We had to work closely to make decisions, order items and keep things moving forward. Ben is very friendly and takes time to understand the people and how the space will be used. He thinks with both sides of his brain - a great balance of creative, functional, and buildable. He has great attention to detail and matched the aesthetic of our existing home structure. His workmanship is high quality and we feel great about the solid, warm, and quiet room we added on. Highly recommended!

I called Ben on 7/31/13 and left a message. We tried again on 8/1/13 and spoke with Ben. We set up possible appt. because he had to check with his wife to make sure he wasn't overbooked and to email him my address. Ben came on 8/12/13 and was late but did text us. Are you seeing a pattern? The appointment was going well until he told us that he requires 50% down to keep a slot open in his schedule. I refused those terms and he said, and quot;then I will respectively have to decline this joband quot; and left.

Our original bath was built in 1970 in needed to be completely gutted and replaced. This was a project I thought I could work on myself for the most part and I knew what I wanted. We have had previous remodeling done on our home and, quite frankly, were burned with the poor quality and workmanship. So I designed the bath myself on paper over the past year and had decided on the color schematic, tile, and decorating touches that I wanted to include. I had several contractors come in to talk with us and provide estimates, but it wasn't until About You Builders came in that I was satisfied I had found the right company/individual to actually provide these services. Ben, the owner, made an appointment with me to come into my home to review the bath. He talked with me about what I envisioned, offered his ideas and suggestions, and shortly thereafter sent me his written estimate. It became evident that the project was more than I could handle personally, and in our discussions, I realized I could have this company complete the project to my satisfaction. Once I accepted the proposal, I was placed onto the work schedule, told when to anticipate the beginning of the project and what I needed to do before work could begin. Ben was able to move my project up in his schedule and actually begin before originally promised. The bath was gutted own to the studs.The original studs were evaluated ~some reworked; the plumbing was reworked; and the electrical outlets were brought up to code before new drywall was installed. Jeff, Ben's right hand, reviewed the tile I had purchased for the new shower and bath floor and gently discussed the errors that were made in my purchase. Once the correct tiles were re-ordered, he began working on the shower tiling and his expertise became immediately evident. The finished work is beautiful. About You Builders offered painting tips for me and while I painted the ceiling and walls they began work on another job. When I was ready for them to return, they began work on the bath trim. The wood trim and bath door for this project is a new style that will eventually be extended to the rest of the house, so About You Builders went with me to a local big box store and to their local chosen trim supplier to review my wood options and discuss my ideas. Once I decided on the trim I wanted, the wood was ordered and delivered. The fact that both Ben and Jeff accompanied us to the stores to discuss this point in our decision making process is a huge factor in how we regard their professionalism. I sanded and stained the wood and About You Builders worked on another job. When I was ready for them, they returned to install the trim and new door and complete the bath. My entire bath was designed around a one of its kind vanity found in a local high end furniture consignment store. I wanted to have a vessel sink installed to create a guest/powder bathroom . If the vanity was damaged in this transition, the entire bath would have had to have been re-worked. About You Builders took this vanity, installed it into the bath with trim moulding cut to accommodate the back legs and redesigned the working drawers to accommodate the vessel sink. The work is beautiful, and perfect. Once the vanity was installed, the plumbing was completed, About You Builders completed the finishing touches with the addition of mirror placement, lighting, and towel racks. This company's professionalism is immediately evident . Ben communicates very well with his clients and his suppliers. Ben and Jeff are both exceptionally talented in this trade. They perform their work efficiently and unobtrusively. They are both very personable, always in good humor, and enjoyable individuals to work with. I will only have this company do any future work on my home. I need look no further.

He is real friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He seems to be a very talented guy overall.

Overall it went great. He came to design appointments on time, offered helpful suggestions. Started when he said he would. Finished when he said he would. Did the job on budget. Cleaned up after himself. Excellent work.
