Schepers' Lawn Sprinkling

Due to some patio work this summer, we had to reconfigure part of our sprinkler system. We used Schepers at the recommendation of our lawn guy and were very disappointed. We believe we were overcharged for the work and we are not completely satisfied with all of the work completed. First, Schepers employs a tactic of rounding up every visit duration to the next higher half-hour. In our case, we had one crew make two visits. They then inexplicably sent a second crew for the second visit, and the second crew showed up toward the end of the work period. We were not sure why they were even there, as the other crew could have easily handled the job and were mostly finished by the time the second crew showed up. When we disagreed about the time that the workers were at our house, as we kept careful track, we were informed that that extra time covered the additional crew members. In addition, both visits were rounded up, and one additional rounding up was made for the second crew. In other words, they took three opportunities to add to our bill instead of rounding up the final total time only once. This rounding up policy essentially overcharged us by 1.0 hours. At $160 per hour, that really hurts. Secondly, some of the sprinklers were installed too low in the ground. When they were put in, we hadn't put the new grass down yet. Maybe they set it at the right height without grass, but now that the grass has grown in, the sprinklers appear too low. We'll likely have to have these adjusted next season, but we won't call Schepers to do it given their accounting practices. Both my husband and I called independently and spoke to different people in the office to complain about this billing practice. While polite, they were unwilling to consider our concerns and did not budge on the charges, not even as a concession to keep us as customers. In fact, when we complained, they tried to say that we should be lucky that they didn't charge us drive time. This “drive time” was not disclosed in any way when we first called to make a service appointment and inquired about their charges. We find it ridiculous and unacceptable that Schepers’ management would try to use that to defend their unfair billing practices. The guys who showed up were friendly, helpful, and overall didn't do bad work. However, as mentioned, we will need some adjusting to the installed height of some of the sprinkler heads and we certainly won't be calling Schepers again because we don't want to be overcharged. Besides, there are other companies in town.

Well - they called while on the way to the house and we them at the house. Repairs made and they invoiced us and cost seemed fair.

Perfect Job. Scanned the lawn for underground wiring and found additional wires that MISS DIG missed, No lines were cut during the installation.

Representative was on time, easy to work with, explained things well, and did a good job with everything we needed done. Happy with the service we received.

When I first contacted them about installing underground sprinkling in September of this year, I was called back by Mike Schepers the same day. Mike came out the next day, listened to my concerns, explained the parts needed for the job, and provided me with an estimate on the spot. Mike explained why they needed to do everything the way they did and how they would get around the unique needs of my property. I was out of town when the work was done in the last week of October, and when I returned, the job was completed in a entirely satisfactory manner. Mike had even scheduled a winterizing of the system for me. I would not hesitate to recommend Schepers to family or friends. I will be using them any time I am in need of service.

We were looking for a company to install underground irrigation, before our hydro seed was put in. I called serveral companies and they all had great offers, but I went with quality over cost at this point. I sent out a request on the thier website and got a response back within 24hrs from the lead contracters Mike Scheper and asked for a little bit of information and what we were looking for. About a week later Mike came out to my home and did a survey of the property and meet up with me explaining in detail what to expect before and after the installation is performed and some of the services they provide. He let me with a brochure and a bunch of information about thier company, product information and the quote with many options to choose from. About a month later we came back to Mike and decided they would be the best option . We immediatly schedualed an appotiment for them to come out and do the work. On the day of the installation, they came out as schedualed and performed top notch work. It took them about 8hrs from start to finish. When they were completed they performed a demonstration of the system and explained to me how everything works. I would recommend them to anyone looking for irrigation or any landscaping that needs to be done.

I thought they were very professional and did a great job, on both occasions. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

Their price was 1/3 higher than the other two estimates.We decided to go with Wichell Irrigation. I accidentally gave you my Winchell report for Schepers. We chose Schepers to install our new sprinking system after consulting a few different companies. The estimate was on time as was the quote. Work was done as scheduled and done well. Only issue was I was expecting an auto drain system and ended up with a system that needs to be blown out every year. But aside from that it went well, work was done while we were on vacation and we gave them a key so that they could get into the house. The morning we were leaving for vacation (the day before they were to do the irrigation system) our 25 year old water heater died so we called them as I knew they had a plumbing department too. They did the water heater at the same time so when we got back home everything was done and cleaned up. Love the system.

Replaced two gate valves in the water line. Excellent job, nice people and a reasonable price.

They did a fantastic job of winterizing my in ground sprinkler system. I will use them again next year. Great service!

I can tell you that I have been extremely pleased with their personnel and the service they have provided. Over the years I have met a good number of the employees and all have been polite, friendly, and helpful. Their charge for the back-flow test was less than a lot of the companies on the list.

Mike Schepers provided a thorough quote for installation and materials for the underground sprinkling and gutter trenching to rear of the yard. Mike and the crew were very professional during the entire process. The crew showed up on time both days and were very professional in appearance. A few days after the install, a member of the crew came back to tweak the sprinkler heads and adjust the sprays as necessary. The underground sprinkling consists of 8 separate zones and roughly 40 heads, and the gutter trenching consisted of 5 gutters being trenched at a depth of 2 feet and a length of about 400 feet in total. The combined quote beat the other guys and this company's professionalism speaks for itself. If you're looking for a quality company to install your underground sprinkling at a reasonable price, look no further.

We had a new sprinkler system installed on .33 acres. They were quick, always responded to my phone calls and questions. They gave me options and explained how the water billing would work. Installation went quickly and they double checked everything worked before leaving. They also made sure I knew how to run the system before they left.

The serviceman arrived promptly. He turned on the outside portion of the system. Before entering the basement to turn on the water he was careful to put on protective shoe covers (which I appreciate). He tested and adjusted the sprinkler flow patterns and readjusted one when I noticed it sprayed over into the neighbor's yard. Because my plow service had accidentally caught a rotor head he replaced the head and fitting as well as another nozzle. He set the time and station controls and when he left all I needed to do was turn the controls to Auto when I wanted to begin sprinkling the lawn on a regular basis. Schepers' was the company that originally installed the system about 6 years ago. I have had them do spring start-up for the past 2 years. All of the employees that I have dealt with over the years have been exceptionally pleasant and they know the business. I couldn't ask for a better company to do business with.

They are kind and competent. They maintain our sprinkler system and do any repairs needed.
