They did a very good job with what turned out to be a bit more work than I thought it would. Our wall oven had a flange around it that I'd forgotten to account for when I measured it, so they had to widen the install gap a bit in order to get the oven to fit correctly. They also had to deal with a power cord that was slightly short which required them to reach inside the install area and complete the connection (which is a bit more difficult than simply connecting the oven then sliding it into place). They didn't complain a bit about the extra work (which I really didn't know was going to be needed or I'd of warned them) and just set about getting the install done. Overall the work looks good and they even set the timer on our oven for us (which I thought was sort of funny, but a nice touch). I do most of our home "renovation" work myself but there are some jobs that I just can't do by myself (like safely lifting wall ovens). We've got a few projects coming up that are a bit out of my comfort zone (things that I question if I can do in a quality way) that I have a feeling we'll be calling these guys back to give us an estimate on.

I would highly recommend Homeland Renovations and will have them back to our house for any future repairs. They showed up as promised, kept us up to date on what needed to be done, found creative solutions to problems, and did an excellent job.with all repairs and painting. Special attention to detail with all aspects of the work performed. Made sure they cleaned up each day, and checked back to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction. The paint job ended up being more work than was originally anticipated due to the age and condition of the cedar siding. We did need to purchase more than the estimated amount of paint, but there were no added charges for labor and the house looks like new! Very easy people to work with, and gave us a fair price. Again, highly recommend Homeland Renovations & Repairs. They are very knowledgeable and great to work with.
Description of Work: Several home repairs, including replacing deck boards on our balcony, removed old gutters, repaired soffit and facia boards, removed and repaired old porch overhang, and basically fixed all wood issues on our home. Our house was badly in need of TLC,as the previous owners had not maintained the house. After all repairs were completed, they painted the whole exterior with wood stain. They also removed and replaced the screen from our large back porch, and installed a new screen system and it looks great.

Bryan did a great job. Especially since he had other jobs he was working he fit me in during the evening. I was not in a hurry so it worked out well. Bryan is honest and trustworthy and does good work. That's the most important criteria I look for in selecting someone to work in my house. And his wife did a great job keeping me aware of the schedule and the pricing.

I hired Homeland Renovations to do the majority of the renovations on a rental property that needed some serious TLC. Bryan took on a number of projects that ranged from deck repairs, removing walls, plumbing/electrical, carpentry, etc. I was impressed with the quality of their work and communication during the course of the project. The scope of the renovation was fairly large and there were bound to be issues that popped up along the way. Cheryl and Bryan communicated any change orders or snags in timing clearly and although the process took a little longer than I would have liked, I was very satisfied with the end result. Bryan clearly takes great pride in his work and I enjoyed working with him and Cheryl. I won't hesitate to hire Homeland Renovations again in the future.
Description of Work: Removed popcorn ceiling and painted ceiling. Removed stand up shower & installed new shower stall. Installed several exterior doors and storm doors. Installed bathroom ventilation fans. Removed an existing wall in the kitchen to provide an open floor plan with living room. Removed an existing wall in the bedroom and added new floor trusses, sub-floor, wall framing and drywall. Installed recessed bathroom mirrors. Moved sink and toilet drain/supply lines. Installed new stairs and landing for deck. Installed new deck railings. Installed new porch steps.

From the moment we met Bryan we knew he was the man for our jobs! He's very knowledgeable and resourceful. Coming from NC to our home in upstate SC, we were happy with his punctuality. As for his "craft"manship...he does beautiful work. We were not sure what needed to be done with our bathroom ceiling (previous water damage) and he suggested a sort of "acoustic" ceiling painting technique. We trusted his expertise and, I must say, we were not disappointed. It looks phenomenal!! Bryan encountered many issues with the 2 doors that he worked on, but did a fantastic job. We can't sing his praises enough and look forward to his return in a couple of months to build us an outside storage building!!

Bryan came to give us an estimate on improvements we wanted for our home. He was prompt, he listened to our list of the projects we had in mind, he gave suggestions for said projects and then he went about making the improvements a reality. We have hired other contractors through the years and have learned a few things along the way. If a contractor won't listen and understand what you envision don't hire him. If he has no ideas that might improve on your vision don't hire him. Bryan went above and beyond what he was paid to do on every one of our projects. He hauled away all the rubble while rebuilding our back deck seating and always kept the job site clean and safe. There were times when although we were very satisfied with a job he would insist on doing just a little more. He is a skilled workman who takes pride in his craft and it shows. As homeowners we found Bryan to be very personable reliable and easy to work with. These days it is difficult to find such an individual. We now have a beautiful garden bridge, a terrific skylight that brightens our kitchen, a lovely screened porch that is wonderful in the evening, a much needed new seating for our deck, a secure deck for our grandson to play on and a professionally painted foyer. We intend to hire Homeland Renovations and Repairs again in the near future.
Description of Work: Bryan rebuilt the seat on our back deck that extends along the back of our home. He also built a 14 ft. garden bridge that connects two elevations in our garden. Bryan screened in our back porch and installed a screen door from the porch to the outside. He installed a large skylight in our kitchen and added a floor plug. Bryan built a gate for our front deck and figured out a way to install an old iron gate that we had previously purchased to use as another gate. He repainted our foyer a new shade. When we purchased a metal porch swing that did not go together properly, Bryan volunteered to find a way to make it work and he did .

Wow! We are impressed! The work was done in a timely manner, always with a cheerful smile and the project looks fantastic! We did major renovations to the inside of our home when we moved in - and could not locate someone who knew how to paint the concrete (other than someone other than Homeland Renovations who assumed they knew what to do - and in our conversations we realized they did not). This type of painting requires expertise. The kind of paint used for around the pool area (so children won't slip), the knowledge of how to repair the concrete area, the ability to move the plants and furniture off and on the area, the beauty of the completed task were all considerations we had for choosing Homeland Renovations. Cheryl and Bryan are delightful people who are efficient, caring (they made sure we loved the paint color!), and professional. It was hard work, but they were always willing and ready to do what it took to make their customer happy. True Customer Service! My husband and I felt that the price was very fair for the work that needed to be completed. If this were the only project we did with Angie's List (and it isn't and won't be) - I'd say we got our money's worth for the cost of Angie's List on this one project alone. (THANK YOU ANGIE!)
Description of Work: Our concrete area by the pool was in desperate need of attention! There were chips in the concrete, holes in the stamped concrete around the pool and very faded color everywhere. The front walk was also stained and in need of refinishing. 1) pressure washing where necessary 2) repairing missing concrete areas 3) matching paint to suit the aesthetics of the backyard 4) painting of the entire concrete area

He is a super nice person. My mother needed a new surface unit in her kitchen and she's got a built in oven and he put that in and she was very pleased with his work. He was so punctual and very nice. Recently this year she needed some locks put in on the door going into the basement and he looked at that and fixed that for them. The price was very reasonable for what he had to do.

On 6/10/13 I contacted Bryan. He was busy when I called and said he would call back in 10 minutes. About 6 hours later he called. No big deal. After discussing the work that i hoped he would be able to help with at the house we set up an appt for Friday 6/14/13 at noon. He didn't show and didn't even call. I drove over an hour each way to meet him. Big deal!

I hired Bryan to retile my kitchen, foyer and guest bathroom floors because his estimate of $1300. was much lower than other estimates I received and because he had good reviews on Angie's List. I paid him a deposit up front of $500. Bryan started with the bathroom. I was retiling this floor because a crack in the slab had caused the existing tile to become unlevel. Bryan did an unbelievably poor job. He did nothing to level the floor. The initial problem remains and is even worse because tiles not even affected by the crack in the slab are now uneven. He refused to use spacers when installing the tile and grout width is thus totally inconsistant throughout the room. He had to remove the quarter round molding in order to install the tile, and I understand that, but somehow he managed to pull the entire 4" molding loose from the walls. There is now a large gap between the molding and the walls and the molding is so banged up it will probably need to be replaced. In one area he also somehow bashed in a section of the drywall leaving cracks and an indentation in it. It looks like he knocked something into the wall. This he never even told me about - I discovered it after he left. He used tape to put up plastic sheets to cover the tub and sink. In pulling the tape off he left a 3 or 4 inch gouge in the drywall. He made the walls so dirty that, even if he hadn't put cracks in them, they would have had to be repainted. Bryan told me he would be there each morning between 9:00 and 9:30. He only once arrived on time. One morning he didn't arrive until 11:00. He left early every day, never working past 3:45. After completing the bathroom, Bryan quit. He kept the $500 deposit, even though he completed only 20% of the agreed upon work and did so in a totally unacceptable fashion. I have now spent the $500 I gave Bryan plus over $400 on tile and grout and have to totally redo the floors, have the room painted, and have new molding installed.
Description of Work: Bryan was hired to replace the tile floors in my kitchen, foyer and guest bathroom. He completed only the bathroom.

Bryan's Home Services has a very high rating in quality and standards and continues to provide exceptional service to Angie's List members with a high rating track record. As a professional, I provided the services that were requested, to include changes in preferences after tile was almost complete. In my line of work there are many ways to accomplish a task with or without tools; this depends on the person and experience. When there becomes a definite barrier of communication between the customer and myself, the most professional and honest thing to happen is to speak politely, openly and agree on ending the job. Compensation matches the work performed. Not often, but at times, the hours worked revolve around family circumstances as family is very important.

Great. Work is ongoing. Bryan is fantastic and works with our schedule and priorities. He is patient and a pleasure to work with. I trust him 100% to do his best. I could say much more but I have been composing this for some time and felt it was way past time to give Bryan Craft his much deserved review.
Description of Work: Bryan is a true professional to work with. We have several repair jobs and Bryan has a unique ability to see a problem, fix it and do a great job without breaking the bank. The quality of his work is excellent. His prices are fair. With Bryan, you get what you pay for every time. He has done a a variety of jobs for us and still working. Fence: replaced, repaired pickets, posts, and also re-concreted posts as needed and then pressured washed and repainted. Separate Building on property was semi finished and Brian has finished the siding on the outside and still working on. More work to complete and then repaint the building House: re-caulked windows: pressured washed our brick house and is re-painting trim. Repaired brick chimney. Bathroom: tearing out shower floor all the way to sub floor and rebuilding floor with rubber liner and re-tiling the floor. He has completed a variety of smaller tasks ranging from fixing electrical outlets to rewiring as needed, plumbing, etc. I have yet to see something stump him. He always figures out a problem.

Dear Customer, I thank you for your review of Bryan's Home Services; however, I regret that my company is unfamiliar with giving such an estimate in the Piedmont, SC region. There is no documents that relate to an appointment by your name or area. I sympanthize with you, as I know how fustrating the "waiting period" can be for estimates and I make every effort to be timely and courteous. Angie's List has made numerous attempts to contact you regarding the validation of this rating and is awaiting your response. he is a perfectionist which is good and bad. Deck staining was first project and turned to a disaster-staining was not the color that we picked---turned deck white. He changed to Olympic staining and we picked different colors which worked. Picking colors is not easy=and picking color for the dog fence was hard=decision made to match the shutters. The weather was against us too=got to cold to paint. The bathroom vanity was easy but working with plumbing that existed was difficult. But he was resourceful and seemed very knowlegeable about the issues he faced. I felt he wanted to do a good job and was frustrated by the deck color.

I am very pleased with Bryan's work. He was responsive when I called and was able to visit and give me an estimate within a couple of days. He was able to work on the house within a couple more days and came in right at or a little under budget (per his free estimate). What impressed me most about Bryan is his knowledge of houses -- he was able to recognize not only what needed fixing, but told me why the problem developed in the first place. For instance, he took care of poor drainage issues where our water was not properly directed toward our gutters, and noted that some of the original construction on our house had been done using materials that were meant for interior rather than exterior work. He told me all of this without me prompting him. Bryan removed an outside shelf over our deck to do his work. I noticed when he replaced it that it was a little bit slanted -- some warped wood through his readings off. He fixed it after I asked him about it. Bryan is very professional and he also did a pretty good job cleaning up after himself. I am probably going to re-hire Bryan to do additional work, as he seems like a good guy to work with on an ongoing basis. He also recommended other local folks for different needs that I had?but only folks that he was sure had a good reputation.
