The provider always assumes the problem is with my equipment. They tell me to reset my cable modem and cable box. This does not solve the problem, ever. When these problems happen and I connect to my modem to observe the up and down stream power levels from Comcast it is evident that the signal they are providing is weak and this weak signal from them is the reason for the problems. For instance on June 17th, 2014 the upstream power level was at 57 which is very high, a upstream power level in the 40s is best and as the power level increases past 54 the signal will drop in and out causing the modem (and thus the internet) to disconnect. The people at comcast never address this issue for me, they only blame my house equipment. I know its not my equipment because this has happened before and it has been comcast equipment problems but it will take months for them to do something about it. I am sure this problem will last most of the summer until massive numbers of people complain and they finally put enough effort into finding the equipment failure on their end that is causing the problem. Dealing with Comcast if very frustrating, when it works, it works great but if you have problems in your neighbor hood, forget finding someone at comcast that really understands how their own system works, forget trying to explain to them the signal levels are weak since the individuals you can actually talk to at comcast have no idea what a signal level is, the only thing these people know is how to reset the modem or cable box, that is the extent of their knowledge. Thus it becomes very frustrating dealing with these people since they always blame the consumers equipment and not the equipment they use to provide the signal.
Description of Work: I have problems with the internet and cable TV the last several days. The internet goes in and out and some channels pixelate with sound dropping in and out. This has been a problem for about 1 week.
