 + -1 moreWe sent an e-mail through the company's web site asking for an estimate on our bathroom remodeling project. Mr. Olivia called within a day to discuss what we were looking for. He seemed knowledgable and we discussed the project at length by phone. He said he would check his schedule and call back the following week to arrange an in-home estimate. He never bothered to call and we never heard from him again.

 + 0 moreThis was a HUGE project, performed in our 1920s-era home, with homeowners (us) who were complete newcomers to the home renovation scene. The results were fabulous - beyond what we could have imagined - with workmanship that exceeded even our high expectations. Gordy talked us through every step of the process, listened carefully to us, offered priceless advice, calmed our worries, came up with creative solutions, smoothly wrangled the various workers who were involved in the project. His vision of the finished product was entirely consistent with our requests and wishes, and with the existing architectural features of our house. Additionally, his estimates were very accurate. A few details that might seem minor but were very important to us: everyone working in the house was kind to our dogs and our very aged cat...Gordy's crew cleaned up every day...dust-control measures were rigorously observed. Gordy was great to work with and we love our kitchen. We recommend Gordy unconditionally.
Description of Work: Gordy performed a complete renovation of our kitchen and adjoining dining room: new walls (incl. architectural detailing), new ceilings, new wiring, new light fixtures, new cabinets, new counters, new windows, new appliances, wallpaper removal, painting, refinishing of original wood floors.

Description of Work: We live in a 1928 era home. It is in lovely condition. However, our garage (also circa 1928) became unstable when the roots of an old tree behind it began to lift up the footings. We asked Gordy to take a look at it to see if it could be repaired. With his advice and some others' opinions, we decided to tear it down and start fresh. Gordy arranged the demolition of the old structure. He worked closely with our tree company to make sure the remaining tree survived the work. He took all of our suggestions and preferences and designed a garage that works with our old home. He recycled the old brick facade and reused a door and window as a reminder of the age of our home. When we started at the end of October, we asked him if we would have a garage by the time the snow falls. He said yes and was true to his word. On November 30, he swept out the new garage and we drove in. We also have sturdy shelves at the back of the garage and more room on each side of the cars. We would recommend Gordy highly to anyone who needs remodeling and/or construction work. He stopped by almost daily or called or emailed. Never once was it one of those situations where the work is started and then nothing happens for weeks. Keep in mind that the cost included the demolition which was no easy task in an older neighborhood with narrow driveways, very mature trees and power lines.
