Showed up early, quickly confirmed diagnosis, returned with parts and fixed the furnace. Very friendly and even took a quick look over the rest of the furnace and the water heater to make sure they were set up properly.

Went perfectly. We got three estimates, and were impressed with sales rep, Rebecca's product expertise and price point. The installation crew was prompt and professional - especially Ron who answered all our questions. We love our new Trane furnace, and when we had a recent power outage, Rebecca dropped off space heaters at our home until the problem was resolved. This company goes above and beyond to provide their customers with top notch care.

Ron and the crew over at Schutz did a phenomenal job. My furnace was in a small area in the basement and tons of custom work needed to be done to make a new furnace fit and funtion at the optimum capacity. Schutz went above and beyond my expectations and it felt like I have a good friend doing the work. Couldn't be happier with their work, their effort and the resulty. Would reccomend Schutz to everyone.

They have an outrageous quote and said they could replace it for $10,000. I used another company to repair the air conditioner for a cheaper price.

I started researching new HVAC systems last fall when my old furnace was beginning to show signs it was nearing the end of life. I had the advantage that my heat was still running, so I could take my time analyzing the different options. I really did my homework proceeding to have no less than 6 different quotes from companies that installed all the major brands. All 6 installers came with high marks either from Angies or other sources - so I started with those that had high marks only. Most articles you will read advise (and rightfully so) to put as much importance, if not more, on the installer as you do the brand/mfg of HVAC. OK, of the 6 installers, 1 stood out and that was Shutz Heating and Cooling. Tony arrived at my house promptly and did a walk around, giving me his expert advice for duct work, sizing and pointing out several enhancements that he would make as part of the install (radius boot, larger duct work, relocating my humidifier, etc). Some of the other quotes did the same, but the difference for me was the presentation and the level of details that Tony provided in his quote. Tony's presentation was the most professional, by far, going through very patiently all the different options and telling me in plain english what the tradeoffs were. I was sold on the pictures that Tony showed me of his customers standing next to his finished products. More on that later. The quote was not the least expensive and it was not the most expensive of the 6. It was on the higher end, but I was after total value and a trusted supplier that I could trust for a life time. After the initial visit, I had many followup questions, like exact part numbers of each and every component. I bombarded all the vendors with questions throughout my 2 month evaluation. In all cased, Lena/Tony delivered the necessary info without any hesitation. Others did not - several either were impatient to my constant questions or they would only provide me with vague answers. Toward the end of the fall, I got it down to 2. My top choice was Shutz and the other was Costco. Costco was good, but they lacked the personal touch that I received from Shutz, who was exceptional. Since my furnace was heating the house, I did not get the system put in right away. Then in May, my AC failed and I was ready to make the move. I called Lena right away and asked if their quote was still good since it was several months later. She came back promptly and said they would honor the quote. At this point, I pulled the trigger. It was going to be a couple weeks before the install, so I was given temporary ACs to keep the house cool while we waited. Ok, so at this point I could only hope that the install would live up to the great experience so far. And did it! Jeremy and Tony arrived on time the morning of the install. Went over a few things and started the work. They worked all day for 2 days. They had an additional helper (sorry can't remember his name). Tony personally spent considerable time installing my system to ensure it would exceed my expectations. They found a couple things in the process that were unexpected. Like my hot water heater vent had broken behind the old furnace and was leaking carbon monoxide in my basement. Tony fixed this as part of the install. The attention to detail was impeccable. Like raising my unit up off the basement floor with a pad. This just showed me the passion for how they really wanted it to be done in the very best way possible. The boot and duct work was exceptional. And the final product was a "work of art" - literally. I can't say enough about the job they did. As someone who did his homework from the very beginning, comparing only the best of the best in the area of both service companies and brands, I can honestly say, you will not get any better in this area than a high efficiency system from Shutz Heating and Cooling.

Great. We were nervous about the furnace, as it seemed to be operating more inconsistently, so we called & they moved up the initial install by a week. They were accommodating, professional, and everything seems great.

I was very pleased with the work. The service man,Anthony, was very professional and punctual. He was helpful in programming the new thermostat for me. He stayed until he was certain that everything was working properly. I asked several questions about a vent situation in one of my rooms. He was helpful in explaining the solution to my concern and provided an approximate estimate to correct the situation.. I will definitely use them again when I am ready to have the corrective work completed.. I have already recommended this company to neighbors. The office staff was polite and prompt in returning my phone calls.

I was extremely satisfied with the total process. I give them an A+. They were very professional and contacted me several times after the installation with information. Schutz did all of the paperwork connected with the furnace, including contacting DET Energy & Consumer's Power. The workmen did a thorough job of laying tarps, installing both units and cleaning up afterwards. I was totally confident with their follow-through procedures, and expect to contact them in the future. Tony and his team were very professional and on-time. They were flexible to minor changes requested, such as locating the position of the heat pump in a different position than the one it replaced. At the end of the job all was cleaned up as it was before they arrived. We had a few issues with level of propane coming into the house and they came back on all occasions to resolve the issue in a very timely fashion. We were hesitant in making the investment in the heat pump/ furnace combination. However, we are confident that it was the correct choice. Winter 2013/ 2014 was significantly more severe than Winter 2012/ 2013. In spite of being a severe winter, we saw our propane usage cut in half in terms of gallons used and our overall heating spend (in dollars from combined furnace/ heat pump) was reduced by one-third. These are significant cost improvements. We also had the heat pump set-up for an interruptible second meter which is helpful not only in the summer months, but also in the winter months where the IRR rates are cut almost in half. I enjoy the programmable thermostat linked in with the Nexia systems. The ability to control the climate in the home while on vacation, at work, etc. is very convenient as allows you remote access to change settings if you forgot to do so prior to leaving the house. Again, the system is great and the installation and service were and have been great as well!!

Everything was perfectely installed and works perfectly. I was blown away at the quality of the work that was performed. They evven took the time to clean up every little scrap of metal and trash that was used for the job. They ask me questions on where I wanted the unit placed, where I wanted the exhause run, and even where through the rafters I wanted the electrical run. Other contractors I used would have NEVER thought to ask those questions. I would use them again and would recommend them to all of my family and friends without any hesitation.

They did an extraordinarily organized job and they were the only ones that really evaluated the airflow and changed some of the duct work to make it better. Essentially, they had the job done in two days and they were very efficient, very clean and did a very good installation. It wasn't the cheapest but it wasn't the most expensive so I think that they had the best value for what they offered. They were here when they said they would and got it done in the time that they said they would.

They were good. They were just a little pricey. They were prompt and everything but just kind of pricey for what I had done. They came out the first time to just clean my furnace. I thought it would take care of it. That was $90. After a couple of days, because it did not take care of it, I paid $700 and something. He took off the $90 but I know how much the part cost and it only took him 15 – 20 minutes to do it. I know usually they double the price to have them to come out and do the job but this was over than doubled. I even talked to another person afterwards and they said they stuck me on this one. It should have not caused me that much. They were here and did a good job but they were just a little expensive.

I have dealt with Tony for over the last 3 years. He has been out every time I have lost heat with my old system. It was just time for a new one, Tony came out and gave me a quote and off we went. Anthony, Jeremy and Corey came out and installed my system in no time. The bulk of the work was done on the first day with some touch up the next. Anthony kept me informed the whole time and kept asking if I had any questions during the installation and demonstration on how the system worked. I'm in the service industry and know what exceptional service is and this is what Schutz & Co. bring to the table. They will always service my furnace.

We knew our Lennox complete heat system needed to be replaced. I could write a book on the trials and tribulations of owning the Lennox complete heat system. We tried so many authorized Lennox dealers looking for one who could fix our furnace. The last repair man who came out looked around and asked where the hot water heater was. This authorized dealer didn't know the furnace and hot water heater are one unit. I knew then we had no choice but to replace this furnace. FYI Lennox did recall the complete heat system but I was never notified. Apparently my furnace was never properly registered. I bring this point up because Lena from Schutz @ Co. registers your heating and cooling purchases for you. Lesson learned. Knowing I needed to replace my furnace ahead of time gave me the opportunity to research various heating and cooling systems. I had heard from a few friends and read that Carrier was having some nasty problems resulting in a class action suit. Carrier and Bryant are owned by the same company so I eliminated them. Lennox was out so I choose Trane. During my research which started at consumer report of course, and also googling everything I could read, one thing all the articles always stressed is getting a good installer. So that was my next hurdle. I started at Tranes website looking for authorize dealers in my area. Googled their names, eventually ending at Angie's list. I read every single review and chose Schutz and company. The fact that Lowes chooses Schutz to do their installs, that's quit a thumbs up. Tony came to our house with very short notice, did an excellent presentation of the Trane product line. No pressure whatsoever. We reviewed our choices overnight. Talked to Lena about our financing options and made the appointment for the installation. The crew came out with enough space heaters to keep the house warm. Tony said it would take three days to complete the job, and he was correct. Although our house had heat and hot water before they left on the first day. Anthony is the team lead he is very personable and did a great job keeping me up to date on the progress. All the men were very nice and very professional. I have no problems recognizing a repairman who does not know what he's doing. I watched long enough to know they were a team who would get the job done well. Remember I have tons of experience watching heating and cooling repairmen. The crew made every effort not to leave a trace they were ever there. They removed all the old equipment and just did a really great job. Lena does an amazing job, helps make everything go so smoothly. She even does the paperwork for your rebates. If you need a heating and cooling company I highly recommend Schutz & Co Heating and cooling.

We were absolutely amazed at the speed in which they arrived and no extra charge for immediate service. The technician Anthony was very professional and knowledgeable. They had the part we needed on hand, so no extra wait time for part ordering. They cleaned up after the work was performed and were very friendly. I would highly recommend Schutz Heating and Cooling to anyone in their service area!!!

Schutz team was wonderful! We discovered a burning smell in the house and furnace was loud, this was at dinnertime. Once we verified it was indeed the furnace we did some research on Angie's List and found this company. We called and they came out not too long after, bringing with them several space heaters to heat our quickly growing cold home back up. They accessed what the repairs would cost for our furnace and offered an alternate solution of replacing it since it would have needed it soon anyways. To get us back up and running right away they offered to come out the following evening with a brand new furnace (discounted as well and included many freebies including fixing our humidifier for free that broke last year) after their last job was completed, they were able to fix us in. We opted for the new furnace and I'm so glad we did. The team was wonderful, especially Anthony. They were very professional and did a great job. The next morning I discovered the house was cold again, there was an issue. We called and Anthony came right back out and immediately found and fixed the problem right away. Due to everyone rushing to get the new furnace in an error was made, they were very professional about it and apologized and admitted the error. Many companies wouldn't have admitted that, these guys are very honest! Highly recommend and will go with again if we ever have future problems with heating/cooling.

I am comfortable saying this is the place to call for heating and cooling needs in the Livingston County area. They answered the call promptly and professionally and were very clear with what the next steps would be. I received a call from Tony updating and confirming my needs and availability. Tony and Anthony arrived within 2 hours of my original call and it was -7 outside! They took the time to explain to me everything that was needed and educate me on some things that would help the unit function better in the future. I will be calling them back in the spring and fall to make sure everything is operating properly in our home.

On New Years day, the furnace in my home decided that it was terminating it's services. Unfortunately, we were also due for a large amount of snow and cold courtesy of Michigan winter.I went through Lowes to have the furnace replace and they offered to send Schutz and Co. for the installation. I looked them up on Angie's list and so I opted to use them as well. They were scheduled to show up at 9 am and they showed up within the hour. They were very efficient and worked relentlessly to ensure that the heat was turned on within the same day. The gentlemen, Anthony, Jeremy, and Jeff? were very respectful , kind and efficient. They made sure to keep the place clean and explain any questions and concerns I had while they worked. Before they left they cleaned up after themselves and took away any parts they had brought in while working.

Our furnace had a cracked heat exchanger which was shut down Oct. 16th, with cold weather approaching rapidly; I was scrambling to find a quick solution. Not that I wanted to purchase a new H/C unit as we recently moved into the home. Called Schutz H/C and Tony came out that evening; he stayed very late and went through all the details on selecting a new Trane unit. With autumn being a very busy season for H/C, Schutz was able to schedule and complete our installation on Sunday Oct. 20th. Schutz even offered us aux heaters for our home to supplement our heating needs. On Sunday the team arrived about 8:30 am and went right to work. All aspects of the tear out and install were excellent, tarps were laid down to protect our flooring, all the old equipment was removed, the new unit installed with a new return that was 2x as big as our old unit. The unit was up and running by early evening and the Schutz team left our home like they were never there. We would definitely recommend Schutz H/C, from the front office to the technicians, their service is excellent and they stand behind the product and service they sell.

Our furnace decided to retire...on Thanksgiving ! We were going to our friends house anyway. After dropping the family off, saying hello to everybody, , my friend and I came back and managed to refire the thing. It ran for 7 mins. and shut down. We knew it was on it"s last legs, and I decided, enough is enough. Get a new one. I called the office for Schutz & Co. The msg said if it was an emergency, call Tony's cell. I just left a msg on the machine., seeing as we were staying the night. Tony called me back in 5 MINUTES! He asked what was going on and when I told him he said he was having dinner with his family, but would be at my house in an hour!!! I said that wasn't necessary, we're staying at the friends house. The next day Tony showed up with electric heaters to put around the house. We sat down and decided on which new furnace was our best option. He gave us a GREAT deal. We even added a humidifier. That night..Friday...Anthony came over with another heater and took apart the old furnace. Saturday morning, Anthony and Jeremy came right on time. As I was walking to the furnace room, I noticed water pooling out from under the door. I went in and traced the water to the water heater! I knew it too was on it's last legs. Apparently it got jealous of the furnace and decided to retire too! I called Tony and asked if they did heaters...yes! He had me give the phone to Anthony, who gave him the specs. He returned the phone to me and Tony said he would be there in 1.5 hours with a new water heater. He was there in an hour and 15!! Knowing I had two teenage daughters upstairs, he installed the water heater in under an hour!! WHILE they were installing the furnace and humidifier!!!!! He put in a top of the line heater and also installed stainless steel flex water hoses! He barely broke even with this heater! I know, I checked! It's heartwarming to know there is still a contractor out there who CARES for their customer! Tony was willing to cut short his Thanksgiving dinner with his family to help us! Anthony and Jeremy were the same. I, in my job, deal with hundreds of people daily and know who is honest, sincere, and caring. These guys, along with Lena in the office, whose brightness makes the sun seem dull, are the real deal!!!!! I have had many contractors in my home over the years and have never sensed the sincerity, honesty and true caring these folks show. When my wife came down at the end off the job, we found Anthony vacuuming the furnace room. My wife said he doesn't have to do that, I said " It's what they do!" PS. I only gave them an A grade because Angieslist doesn't have an A+++++
