Hi! This is Gary, the owner of GM Construction. I started in wood and custom cabinetry and studied under a master carpenter for many years before starting my own business. I designed GM Construction to stand head-and-shoulders above the competition in many ways. Here are a few examples: First, I personally do a complimentary consultation with each homeowner. I listen to what you envision for your project and bring sample materials with me to educate you on the pros and cons of all your options. From my vast hands-on experience, I can offer suggestions when appropriate so that your project will complement your home and lifestyle. Second, I'm there on every project to manage and guarantee the highest quality work every step along the way. I do not use sub-contractors like my competition. I use my own experienced, top notch crew and my crew is extremely diligent to be non-invasive to the parts of your home/yard, plus leave a clean work environment every night. Third, you will be satisfied with your project's outcome. I take care to make sure that every client is well taken care of and gets the wow factor in the work we complete. The build went great, excellent communication from everyone. Job was done earlier than expected even with them a man short for a few days. Angela and Gary outlined everything we should expect, worked around scheduling weirdness due to having a new born coming and delivered a great product. Great company, I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who is planning on doing anything with an outdoor space. Gary's design was spot on, and turned out better than we even imagined.

The owner's quote was not the cheapest but it by far was not the most expensive. His design for the replacement pergola was the most unique and sturdy of all the other companies. He uses this process that takes him 21 hours to bend a piece of wood into an arch, and he uses those as support for the pergola. We wanted something that was not going to blow down again, and I actually had an architect review the designs that the construction companies that quoted me submitted, he said that that deisgn by GM Construction will be the most sturdy. And it was free standing so I did not have to connect it to my house and it does not move at all. He worked really well with me on that. The only problem I had was the color of the stain, it was a lot more red than what I thought it was going to be, but I fell in love with my pergola.
