Very fast and efficient removal of large elm tree situated in close quarters between house and swimming pool. Left a neat pile of logs for me to cut into firewood per my request.

The site evaluation and quote were provided the next day after the inquiry. The work was preformed in two weeks as was originally quoted. The workers showed up on time and in good spirits. The site was reviewed again before starting work and after completion. The work was done within 2 hours including all clean up. The 50 ft. willow tree is safe and healthy again. The fence line is clear and ready for repair. The dead ash tree is gone. I would use this crew again and recommend them to anyone in the area. Professional and prompt with high quality service.

Precision did an excellent job in my yard. They removed a large dying spruce which was right next to my garage and I had them grind the stump as well. Two large Silver maples were pruned and one was also cabled. They pruned a smaller crabapple and removed a large branch growing near the telephone wires. Another maple, which was pretty scary looking, was pruned and they transformed it into a happy tree. The site was cleaned up nicely and pricing was competitive. They even responded kindly when I added something to the list I had forgotten to mention for the initial quote. I am very impressed by their skill and knowledge. They went above and beyond and I would definitely hire Precision in the future when I need their services again.

Precision Tree and Shrub did an outstanding job. The quality of all of their work was excellent. They communicated what they were going to do, followed up with us while they were here to make sure it met our expectations, cleaned everything up on the property and took great care to do everything carefully and safely. They paid special attention to make sure none of the other landscape was disturbed while they were working. They were prompt and very delightful to work with. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them highly. We actually found them on Angie's list and the reviews were so good - we gave them a call and are happy that we did! They were able to come out and give us a quote very quickly and the work was performed promptly.

Horrible service. Highly unprofessional. Don't waste your time if you are in a rush to get a job done. Called to have someone come out and appraise the work I needed done. Given the reviews on Angie's List, I figured I should give them the benefit of being well reviewed and wait the week for someone to show up and walk the backyard with me. Gave me a quote that day. Ended up turning away another company for the same cost based on the higher marks Angie's list gave these guys. Mark mentioned multiple times that they were busy and it would be about 2 weeks before they could start. But it really should only be a one day job. This was on June 5th. Signed the work contract and emailed it back to them the next morning. After not hearing back from them 3 days later I called, just to confirm my email wasn't lost or never received. They did get it, and suggested it was in bad form not to confirm receiving it, but they have been busy. I should expect the scheduling call sometime in the next week and a half. 2 weeks past and I received a call saying they wont be scheduling me right now due to the amount of bad weather we've been having and the amount of "Emergency work" they have been getting from it. But expect a call really soon, as they just need to finish up this new work. So now almost 3 weeks in and I'm being told the amount of work in the line in front of me has increased. If they are so swamped with work, as they have mentioned to me multiple times now, why take on more work, and push off already waiting work in hand. I'm sure it must be "Emergency work premium fees" I find this behavior very unprofessional. Now 1 month after the first call to this company, my back yard is still a jungle of out of control growth, and I find myself back on Angie's list to find a company that wants to take my money.

Job well done. Very professional. Job assessment performed by experienced professional to provide quote. 16" diameter cherry limb required removal was removed in numerous sections to prevent pieces from contacting the neighbors powerline/service drop. Removed all small limbs including raking of the area afterwards. All debris was sent through the chipper. Stump grinder did a wonderful job in tight areas in the front, side and backyard. The entire team cared about the health of the trees that remained. I look forward to working with Precision Tree & Shrub in the future.

Great! Each tree was given character. I was very impressed with the knowledge and team interactions as they worked on a tree. It was like watching them create a piece of art.

The work was done efficiently and done earlier than expected. I called to get an estimate and Mark came out the same day. He was very informative for a newer home owner, which was extremely helpful. He explained all the details of the process that concerned his job and how insurance can play a role in the process as well. He was very courteous, professional and patient. The crew was able to come the next day, and they came earlier than expected. They were very polite and thorough about what they were going to do and what I was to expect. I came out to ask questions and they were very honest and up front about my concerns and questions. I had a very large tree that fell onto my pool and a second tree that was twisted and down as well. It was a big job. It took over 2 hours, but and the crew took great care of my yard, my neighbors yard and clean up was immaculate! On top of that, Mark made another trip back out to my house to check the work of his crew AND came back that same evening to finalize some trimming on another tree that was scraped by one of the fallen to make sure our home was safe and pruned to the best of its state after the storm. Mark took time to offer us suggestions about possibilities of what to plant in replacement of our once privacy trees. He and his team went above and beyond when it comes to customer service.

Admittedly, I was a bit hesitant utilizing Angie's List. But after a wind storm and not having a "regular" tree service company on file, I called Precision Tree and Shrub for an estimate. Within two hours, the company responded, provided an estimate and, seeing that the tree was blocking my driveway, re-scheduled their workers to take care of our problem. From estimate to finish, the entire job was completed in six hours. Upon arrival, this entire crew was courteous, well-mannered and obviously experienced. All were in appropriate attire, had safety hard hats and were beyond efficient. Clean-up was perfect. I was so pleased that I have planned to re-hire this same company to do additional work at my farm in the next few weeks. I now have a regular tree service company. A terrific experience.

They just did it today. They were kind of backed up but he pulled me that one, he gave me the estimate. They were out today and it went fine. They were amazingly fast, they were done like in a little more an half an hour, I couldn't believe it. There were four of them that came and they get right to work and they did a fine job. There wasn't anything I wasn't happy with. I was under the assumption that when he would know that that was going to cost more than the coupon, and I was quite amazed when he came in and write the quote and it turned out to be so much more. I didn't realize that until he came in and issued the quote but I did ask how much it would be and then I'd just say never mind so I thought I was keeping track on the price and it went above that but it's done. He told me it would be a while, we had storms in the area and when I called him I was really surprised that they came out like the same day or the next day to give me the quote which really surprised me, I think he came the next day but when we talked he said now it's going to be about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks out because of the work that needs to be done. It wasn't right away but it was certainly agreeable to me and I understand the way that they work, that's what he called this morning, we're here doing a job in your area, now would it be okay to come and do it today so that was fine with me.

They did the work when they said they would and cleaned up after themselves.

Precision was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Mark came to do an inspection and estimate within a day or two of our call. He was prompt, courteous, and quite professional. He took time to point out and explain all of our options thoroughly, and he spontaneously offered very helpful advice on tree issues not related to our pruning job. When he left, we felt that we knew exactly what to expect from the pruning crew. He also offered to e-mail a copy of their liability insurance and followed through within a day or two. The pruning crew came promptly at our convenience and completed the job expertly as we expected. When they left, the areas were clear of debris.

We purchased a discount through Angie's List and hired Precision Tree and Shrub to prune and shape trees for us. They did a fabulous job. Our arborvitae were overgrown and had suffered winter damage. Precision expertly addressed the damage and then took 6 feet off the arbs. They look great now. The tops are nicely shaped and even, something that I don't usually associate with arbs that have been topped. Precision also restored shape and balance to a oddly shaped flowering crab. It's beautiful now. In addition, they pruned back the branches of a Norwegian Spruce which had grown onto the roof or our house. They did a terrific job here, trimming enough to solve the problem, yet not affecting the shape or density of the tree. The best endorsement of the work came from our daughter and son-in-law who both have degrees in forestry and have worked for a different tree company. They were highly complimentary of the completed work. I'd certainly hire Precision again. Not only did their job performance please me; they are some of the nicest people you'll meet.

Shortly after we contracted Precision, the owner had a family emergency which delayed the start of the work. We accepted the delay as an unfortunate circumstance and that it would take a while to get rescheduled. A date was finally agreed to prune the ornamental trees and trim the hedge of arborvitaes. They performed this work well. The ornamental trees went for a long period without pruning and they did a good job getting them look good. The B grade on the Responsiveness and Punctuality was due to the fact that we had to call multiple times to get the rest of the work scheduled and done. We understood their family situation, but once they were ready to get back to work we hoped that they would have been proactive to call for reschedule rather that us calling them. They did finally come out and complete the removal of the two pine trees which were exceptionally tall and near the house. The job was completed and the stumps ground and everything cleaned up to our satisfaction. We have several more tall pine trees on our property slowly dying and will probably hire Precision to come out a cut more down next year.

Mark (one of the owners) returned my email promptly, and once the appointment was set up to provide the estimate he arrived when scheduled. He spent over an hour carefully examining the trees on our property. After living on a ravine in Southfield for eighteen years we had been thinking about having the large oaks trimmed by an arborist to keep them healthy and ensure safety near the house. We didn't want someone who would just "slash and burn." We wanted a company that cared about trees. The two apple trees in the yard were, sadly, unsalvageable. Mark prepared a very detailed estimate right there. While it was a lot of money, he explained each procedure, so the price seemed fair to me for the work to be performed. I had called three companies, but one was unable to come out for an estimate for several more days and I felt Mark was extremely knowledgeable and careful, so I declined the other quote. The third company indicated it was too late in the season to trim oak trees and wouldn't give me a quote. I didn't grade the "Price" category since I had no comparison. I felt the price was reasonable, and Mark seemed honest. Before agreeing to have Precision do the work I asked if they were confident that trimming oak trees in April was still safe. After they checked with their technical sources they reassured me that it was still within acceptable limits. On the day arranged, right on time, Terry (the other partner) and his crew arrived and set to work. They do not use spikes to get up into the limbs, but a pulley system that doesn't harm the trees. It was quite a sight! But insurance is part of the contract. (No one got hurt.) Terry explained to me that he had been working with a local certified arborist for many years, and he was also quite knowledgeable about the trees in the area. His crew were all professional, courteous, efficient, and got the work done in about four hours. (I think there were a total of four of them, although I can't recall exactly.) They cleaned up the branches and also chipped the apple trees, leaving a beautiful, neat pile of fragrant apple chips for our neighbors. Terry told me that all the oaks were very healthy. They did a great job and the bill was exactly as they had quoted. I plan to have them come again later in the season to deep-root fertilize other trees and bushes on our property with a compost tea they apparently make themselves.

At my initial meeting, Mark walked me around the yard helping me choose my highest priorities. He also explained reasons for his choices and their techniques which prevent damage to the trees. They worked very hard for 8 hours. They did around 10 trees which were all in bad shape & all huge trees. They look great now! They also cleaned up the trimmings & all logs, etc. Nice job.

I saw in an e-mail from Angie's List that Precision Tree & Shrub had a Big Deal Special of $99 for $200 of work, so I signed up for it. Shortly afterwards Mark contacted me by phone to discuss what I needed. Then on April 4, 2013, Terry stopped by to see it for himself. The situation I had was that I had a giant Ash Tree in the back yard, and the utilities over the years had trimmed it many times to get it off the power lines; however after their last visit the tree suddenly (to me) died, and I thought they had killed it, somehow, but I was informed that the Emerald Ash Borer had actually killed it. Anyway I asked the utilities to come back and cut it down so it wouldn't, in time, fall on my house. They DID come back but just trimmed it again. They left it still tall enough that it could yet fall on my house. Terry not only agreed to take it down but to cut it in smaller pieces and stack them. His quote was $225, and the $200 of value I had already paid (for $99) would leave a balance of $25. A few days later they came by in the morning and performed the work. I was happy with their job. BTW, Terry also, when he was out, looked at some of my other tree situations and gave me his opinion of what I might do with them, and I was very appreciative of his friendly advice, etc.

We were very impressed with the focus from Precision on safety. They spent time first working out how they could safely climb a >100 ft tree that was dangerously leaning while at the same time how they could take it down with minimal damage to the surrounding area. They questioned us on any underground lines we had and made sure that we understood what they were doing. Precision wrote out what they were going to do and emailed us a copy of their insurance. The crew was very professional. Again, they were very focused on safety and they made sure that everyone was on the same page. Even with all the issues associated with this tree they had it cut down in a matter of hours. To prevent damage to the ground they moved by hand cart sections of the tree trunk that had to weight thousands of pounds. We would (and already have) recommended Precision tree and shrub services to our neighbors. This is especially true for anyone that has a harder than normal tree to take down. (Depending on what mother nature has in store with our trees) we will use them in the future.

this company was great from the first phone call to cleanup. we went thru the yard and determined which trees needed to be removed. when they arrived at the site mark introduced his crew made sure i knew exactly what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. i will definately hire precision again

Terry showed up and gave us a superb estimate. He is extremely knowledgeable about trees, pests and mold and helped identify which trees were beyond salvage, which could be helped and which needed to come down now. When the crew showed up they were very efficient and careful. The large trees were taken down very carefully with no damage to surrounding buildings or shrubs. They included several additional trees without additional cost, that were identified in the process of removal. The stumps were ground down thoroughly and everything was cleaned up so well that one would have had a hard time identifying where recent tree work was done, if you didn't know what was there before hand. They will be my tree service of choice. As Terry said, our goal is not only to take down trees, but to save trees as well.

They did not show up. They did not call to say why until a day or two later. Then it was a lame excuse. I cancelled my scheduled work with them.

Difficult job that other tree companies would not attest. Could not have had a better experience.
