At first Mary from the office was very helpful and kind. We signed the contract on 7/72015 and were told our doors would be in around the beginning of August. That time passed and we didn't hear anything. Then we heard from Mary that one of our doors wasn't ready because it was custom sized. It seemed like that would have been communicated when they came to measure and order the doors in early July, but it wasn't a really big deal so we didn't say anything. Then the door arrived and they were set to install around the first of September. My first impression of the installers was not good as one of them was smoking a cigarette in my front yard before they came up to the house. We don't smoke and we have young kids. It just was not professional, in my opinion. They realized that the custom door we were waiting on was ordered with the hinges and knobs opposite the way they needed to be. So that had to go back and they just installed two of the storm doors that day. The storm doors were supposed to lock because the door led out to the pool. One of them didn't lock, so I let Mary know and she said they would fix it when they came back. Their "fix" was cut out a large chunk out of the black painted wood so it would latch. It locked then, but looked terrible. I sent Mary a picture and asked that they fix it. I felt like the installers were annoyed with us when they came back and had to fix that issue, however they repaired it and it looked much better. We also had them look at two of the other storm doors after those were installed because they wouldn't close on their own. Again, especially with the doors leading to a pool area, we wanted them to close after being opened. Once again, the installers seemed annoyed and told us we needed to change the glass portion of the door to the screen in order for them to close. They did that for us and the doors closed, but now they slam loudly. I guess that's the best we can do. By the time everything was "fixed", it was the end of September. When my husband spoke with Mary and voiced our frustrations with how everything had gone, he was treated like we were out-of-line and trying scam them out of a discount or something. We never asked for one, however I think something would have been appropriate given all of the issues there were. We were more than understanding and know things don't always go as planned in these situation, but we wanted the job done right for the money we spent. The whole situation felt very uncomfortable in the end. We won't use them again.
Description of Work: They replaced two exterior doors and four storm doors.

A friend had suggested Midwest Windows and had been happy with them for installments in 2 of their homes. We liked that it was smaller, local business and that the windows installed were made in Grand Rapids (Polar Seal). Because of the amount of snow and the extremely cold temps this past winter, installation was delayed for several weeks. Installers were polite and experienced. They use the same installers for all their jobs. Mary was very helpful and approachable. We really like our new windows --very easy to open and clean, and we have already noticed some energy savings.
Description of Work: We put in new windows in almost our entire house.
