SCOTT IRON WORKS

When completed, railings were excellent and look wonderful. Only issue would be the promise of "installation will be next week" but it kept getting pushed back. We had to call often to get update. The installers were very pleasant and very efficient. Would recommend but having to "chase" for an update wasn't good.

The workmanship was beautiful. He is a master of his craft. I am looking to have some additonal iron work done, and was delighted to find that Scott is still around.

Scott was supposed to come out to my home to give me a quote for a porch railing. Our appointment was set for Saturday at 1 pm. He was over an hour late and I never heard anything. I left him a voicemail after he was a half hour late on his business line asking him to contact me. After an hour, I took my dog for a walk around the block as I felt he was not going to show up. When I came back 10 minutes later, there was a note from Scott saying he missed me and that he had my wrong phone number and to call him. I then called his business number again, as the card did not provide a personal number and left another message with my cell number. I never heard from him. I called him Monday morning to ask what happened. He said he was delayed due to the rain and claimed he was at my house by 1:45. I told him he was not as I did not leave my home until after 2 pm. He then claimed I gave him the wrong phone number, as one of the digits had been taken down wrong by the woman I originally spoke to at his business. I told him II was pretty aware of my cell number. He then said I should probably find someone else to work with. If he had just checked his business messages over the weekend (Saturday or Sunday) and contacted me to apologize for being an hour late and for having the incorrect number for me, I would have still have had him come out to my home to provide a quote later in the week. It was the fact he did not take accountability and did not bother to call me back, (I had to inquire on Monday again about what happened to him), that shows me a lack of professionalism.

I have used Scotts many times in the past. Mostly custom jobs that are works of art. My parents used them before me and their work has always been beautiful and I do not expect anything less this time. I have always been treated with respect and fairly. I cant wait for my fence to be installed. I will keep you posted. Fence is in it took a little longer than I was originally told but I was informed along the way. The fence is beautiful and of the quality I expected and paid for. I will call them again.

They got someone out almost right away to look at the job. They were there for about 2 hours for the repair and didn't charge me a dime since they're the ones who did the installation 10 years ago.

This wasn't a huge job, but the railings are very sturdy and they look very nice. Their installation was very professional.

Overall, it went well; except that there's a cement residue on the patio. We called them to come out and clean that off. They were supposed to come yesterday and they didn't. We are still waiting on them to come out and clean up that mess. The railings are nice and they did a decent job on that. We got a new pressed cement patio and now there's all this residue from the cement that they put around the post. It cannot be washed off, so we called them and they said they could take care of it. They haven't come yet. The price is reasonable. They didn't clean up the mess.
