Description of Work: GC installed a wooden fence in my side yard. They did an absolutely great job. They were understanding of my needs, offered ideas, and were responsive to my all of my requests. My neighbors have all commented on what a professional job they did.

Description of Work: Call Gary to set date, arrived on time and took time to give me estimate for 3 jobs I was looking to have done. Gary was professional however his quotes were twice the price of others I had received.

Description of Work: It didn't. The contractor did not seem to have time to contact me in a timely manner. I purchased this deal at the end of February and it is now June 9th. This company hasn't even been out to my condo to see what I might want or what would be involved, material needed, time involved, my time frame of availablity for the work to be done etc.

Description of Work: Purchased coupon in October 2012. Would like to have had the work performed immediately but vendor complained of "back problems". When spring arrived I began to try to contact the vendor by both phone and email. Vendor talked about stopping by when he was in the area to scope the project, but never followed through on commitment, or provided me any feedback on why he did meet his commitment. On May 29th I sent vendor an email expressing my frustration. Vendor responded stating he would have someone out to my home the week of June 3rd.The week passed and no one showed up or attempted to contact me. I advised the vendor on June 10 that I no longer wanted to do business with his company. His response was simply the it was too big of an area for one person to service.

Description of Work: Great guy. Called and made apt. Showed up on time and looked at job... Explained that he would have to sub contract plumbing and electrical work, so we agreed that I would be better going direct to a electrical/plumber. Knowledgeable, straightforward and honest.

Description of Work: Gary at G and C Contractor would provide a date and then not show for the appointment , also indicated he had some health problems and would not be able to do the job and then finally showed and said the job was beneath his skills

Description of Work: Several phone calls were made to me by Gary at GC to make an appointment. I explained I needed to complete an insulation appointment before GC could come in and work. Another phone call was made to me asking if Gary could see what would need to be done. Gary ask to see the job and an appointment time set for Thursday March 14th at 9am. The contractor didn't show up. I had taken time from work and prepared for someone to be in my home at 9am. At 10:30am I left a message as to my unhappiness and said I wouldn't trust them to do the work and would ask for a refund. One week later, on Thursday Gary called again and ask if he could make an appointment to see the work to be done. I reminded him that he made an appointment a week earlier and failed to keep it. He didn't seem to remember and said he had a lot going on. I told him I did also and would need a refund. This company was a confusion of phone calls and an unkept appointment that made me leary of any further interaction. I wish them well and would like to move on myself.

Description of Work: Avoid this contractor. He promised to come to my house for an estimate and never showed up. I had to take time off of work to be home to meet him but from his side, no communication to me saying that he would not be there even though he had sent me an email two days before confirming the appointment. His various emails talk about illness in the family but reading his reviews I think that is a convenitent excuse for not being organized and responsible. I would not try this company even with a discount coupon. If he doesn't show up for an estimate, just imagine how much trouble you would have getting him to actually do work.

Description of Work: Service provider arrived at my home to provide an estimate for reparing the bottom foundation of my cabinet under the kitchen sink. He provided an estimate of 3 and 1/2 hours in which I explained I only was only looking to have a piece of plywood cut to fit and secured on top of the bottom or cabinet floor. I wasn't looking for anything fancy becuase it's located under the kitchen sink. He explained that the job required at least 3 and 1/2 hours because he would have to pull his tools from the truck and bring them inside my home. I informed him the time to repair shouldn't begin with him bringing tools inside the home. He informed me to call Angie's list for a refund.

Description of Work: Due to back injury to service provider, coupons expired which he agreed to honor. Multiple requests were made for service but he was swamped he said and would have to farm out the service to someone else. We discussed what needed to be done but he was evasive when it came to actually scheduling an appointment.

Description of Work: Gary came and fixed a door jam for us. He was very responsive and punctual. He was a very nice man and I felt comfortable with him. I bought the 2 hours for $75.00 deal and since it didn't take him that long he said he would give us credit toward another job.

Description of Work: Rebuilt to wooden fences, repaired/replaced fence boards, painted them, cut down an interior door.

Description of Work: I would like to get my money back. I was told by Gary to contact Angie's list. At first I asked for a painting quote for my home and to fix my back stpes. I got a quote for twice the amount of my next quote for painting, and then a quote for a new deck and not just time to get my current stairs a bit more sound for now. I wrote several times and even picked up the material to fix my back steps and asked for (4) hours to be put on my back stairs and replace my front door if he had time. Now I have material sitting by the side of my house, and my special order door, and would just like a refund. I will pay someone else to do it for me. I understand the local businessman. He has probably gotten other jobs that would pay more money and that's what he should spend his time on, and I don't blame him. However, I'm not sure if Handyman describes Gary's construction business or website, which I saw after I purchased (4) hours of handyman labor for some help. Thanks, Ellyn
