I purchased a house that needed some renovation. Plaster work was needed in 4 separate rooms of the house. In two locations, the plaster had water damage and fell through exposing the attic. Jimmy at Lakeshore Plaster did an excellent job at repairing all of those areas that needed plaster work at a reasonable price. After they painted it, the wall looked fantastic. I could not recommend more highly

They just finished working on my house, which included plaster repair, painting and wallpaper. Overall, they did a great job and always wanted to make sure the work was done to my expectations. I was amazed at how well they did the plaster work. They’ve obviously been doing this for many years.

They were wonderful. For price, I thought they were very reasonable. Stuff had to be taken down and they put up shields to keep the plaster dust from ... very much attention to detail. We were very pleased. They kept it to a minimum. I have had plaster dust before and you know, you find it in places you didn't even think it would be because it just floats everywhere. Not only did they cover the floor, they did everything, and then they brought a big vacuum cleaner to suck up what they stepped because you know, they're walking. So they sucked up all of the plaster dust that they could see, everywhere. We hope we don't have any more holes to plaster, but we certainly would recommend them to anyone. They covered everything including the floor. They covered it with paper and taped it up to the walls and so that they could then suck up the dust off of that paper, then throw the paper away. And then they vacuumed. I'm tellin' you, I've never seen anything like it. They were beyond good.

The guy came and gave us a quote. We also talked about doing a basement remodel. He seemed like he wanted to do the project. We attached a date, and he never showed. I called a half a dozen times, sent him 3 messages through Angie's List. Never got a response.

The company was VERY unprofessional in their work and attitude. They were never on time and did a terrible job patching and painting my kitchen. They rushed through the entire job. They also cashed my check before the job was completed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Steve was very prompt in returning our call and showed up on time to give us our project estimate. We compared his quote to two others and they were competitive. We chose Lakeshore Plaster due to Steve's clear understanding of working with plaster walls and decorative molding. The team showed up on time every day and stayed on task until 5:30 pm. The project took approximately 3 weeks, and we felt this time allotment was appropriate. The walls, ceiling and trim look fantastic. We are very pleased with the work.

I would highly recommend Steve and Jeff. Steve was right on top of things and continued to stay in touch with us throughout the project until we were ready for them to come in. He even managed to work us into his schedule sooner than anticipated. The work they did was outstanding. The cove work is beautiful and looks as good as the original work in the house. They were able to blend the new walls and ceiling to the old seamlessly. We couldn't be happier with the work and the overall experience.

I had found Lakeshore upon joining Angie?s List, after a disastrous roofing job that leaked the first week in the living room, and a month later in the family room and dining room, destroying more plaster. My father had the house built in 1964, was proactive in its upkeep, and so the massive plaster-disaster had been heartbreaking. The leaks were so bad, sections, including an 8x8 foot section, needed to be cut out and replaced. I had more than a few estimates, and found Lakeshore to be the most knowledgeable, concise, and conservative in approach. Haggling with the roofing company took months before repair work could start, but the wait was worth it. Steve?s work was done once and done right, unlike the many repeated mistakes and come-backs on the roofing job. The repair work went in sequence, and as plaster was drying, Steve sprayed an antimicrobial solution, replaced the insulation that was removed from the attic flood, and water-tested the roof. The ceilings were repainted after repairs. If you are looking for straight-up, old-school, real-deal plaster restoration, Steve at Lakeshore is your man. That?s all he does. He knows exactly what your house is about and the construction of it depending on the era. Lakeshore is a small company, which means you are dealing with the owner and the one who?s going to be involved in the actual work. You are not dealing with a salesman who is going to tell you how great his company is, and then get a subcontractor in on it. The cost is reasonable and the work is professional from beginning to end. He and his workers are respectful, quick, clean, and considerate of the owner and the property, leaving the area cleaner than when the work began. Beyond the plaster repairs, the paint work is excellent as well, and I am considering having him and his people back for strictly paint work in some other rooms. Steve is one professional you are happy to know.

The job stayed on schedule and went very smoothly. Steve's crew did very good work and even did a great job cleaning up. Would highly recommend him.

They repaired extensive damage in a bedroom closet, minor cracks in living room and dining room ceiling and plaster popping below a set of living room windows. They covered all areas and sealed off the living room and dining room from the rest of the house to minimize dust. Four came to my house and in 1 1/2 days competed the job. I inspected the job at completion and had a few minor items I wanted them to fix. The nature of the minor items were a paint line on the ceiling because they did not roll it out. They fixed everything and were very professional about it.

We met Steve ( Lakeshore Plaster) through a recommendation. We have an 85-year old home in Royal Oak, MI with plaster walls and we wanted to make sure the person who would be doing the necessary repairs was more than proficient. Steve came out, assessed the job, wrote an estimate and we set up a date for the work. We were completely amazed at how much more than just proficient he was. He removed part of a cove ceiling and re-plastered multiple areas on our dining room walls. He dry walled our new kitchen ceiling and walls. The kitchen was finished with a coat of primer, all ready for us to paint. The truly incredible part of this job was the way Steve seamlessly joined our new kitchen ceiling to our existing dining room ceiling, over joists which were old and uneven. It's a beautiful job and we were overjoyed by the finished project. The drywall and plaster are so smooth and seamless, it was just perfect. On a personal note: Lakeshore Plaster was well represented by Steve. He was professional, courteous and respectful. When he left the job, it was spotless and he gave us a chance to walk through the finished job. He had great follow-up, calling to confirm that we were satisfied with his work. We highly recommend this company and if you have any drywall or plaster work that needs to be done, we hope you give Lakeshore Plaster a call. We decided to go with them because I have dealt with them in the past for a project. They do what they say they are going to do and they do it in a timely fashion.

Lakeshore did an excellent job. Their estimate was better than we expected and below their competitors. We will definitely use them again.

Initially the plan was to just repair the ceilings. However the more we studied the 2 ceilings, the more cracks became evident. Additionally, there were bellies in the ceilings between the joists where plaster was sagging. The bellies were subtle, but they were there. Enter Plan B - rather than repairing the existing surfaces and hoping for the best, we decided to cover over the old with new drywall. Steve and I agreed on a price and a start date. He estimated 5 days to put up new drywall, tape and mud it, sand and put on prime and finish coats of paint. Things actually went pretty smoothly. Steve got his crew in to hang the drywall and to perform the other tasks in a fairly timely fashion. Two or more guys were there every day to do what needed to be done. They didn't always start as early as promised, but they always showed up and finished what need to be done on that day. Once you get used to the difference between "contractor time" and actual time in the world the rest of us live in - it really wasn't bad at all. Anyway, five days later - as promised - the job was done. The guys from Lakeshore did a very nice job. The ceilings look good, they cleaned up and removed debris. Steve and his crew were very good to work with. They were friendly and always willing to answer questions, while at the same time keeping on with the job. I'd definitely recommend Lakeshore Plaster and Remodeling, in fact, I plan to call them again in a few months for another project I have in mind.
