They did repair the furnace and the chimney lining (which they'd put in about 8 years prior when they were known as Bob's Sheet Meta)l. I paid them $1065 for the repair and was grateful they could fix the problem. One week after they performed the work, my ceiling and chimney began leaking. I hired a construction company to find/repair the leak and the guy let me know that he found pieces of sheet metal on my roof and wondered why. I explained about the furnace job the week before. He also found that there was no seal between the flue and heating cap on the chimney top. He called Byron's and spoke with someone who authorized him to finish their work. I had to pay the construction company $750 to repair the damage caused by Byron's. I gave Byron ample opportunity to do the right thing (reimburse me the $750) and even offered to accept a credit instead. Byron refused to accept any accountability and instead was mad at the construction company for "throwing him under the bus". There are many good repair folks in and around Houghton, MI but sadly I've learned this is is not one of the reputable companies.

Badly. The young workers showed up late. This otherwise would have been okay but they broke a ragged hole in the brick face wall surrounding my fireplace to access the chimney to fix it (maybe because it was late) and left this huge ragged hole and made no attempt to repair it or suggest how i could or anything. They literally wrecked my fireplace to fix its chimney! I called and told owner Byron what his young help had done but he offered no help, advice, apology, or anything. I was shocked They just broke this ragged hole crudely with a hammer or something so it’s almost impossible to fix without tearing off the whole wall panel and starting over again. If they had at least cut out a square or something it would have been much bettter. I might have had some hope of being able to find some way to fix it. (Which of course I should not have to do at all!)

I recommend them without reservation. For our new water heater, the installation is solid and clean. The edges of all venting that had to be created to the outside of the house are cleanly cut and waterproofed -- very nice! The hot water supply is outstanding! We are very happy with all the services Byron's has helped us with so far. I won't use anyone but them from now on.

The bleeding of radiators went very well. We weren't getting much heat on the 2nd floor but after the visit we did. We wanted to get the radiator on the 3rd floor (a finished room in the attic) working as well, but didn't have much luck with that. Turns out the radiator was cracked. Water leaked from the 3rd floor to the first floor, but Roger was quick to respond and minimized the impact. It was evident in the ceiling that this was an issue long before we lived here so there's no blaming Bob's Sheet Metal. I was very glad he responded quickly and professionally. I would definitely retain their services again in the future.

A repair man giving me an estimate on some work we needed done, recommended I contact Bob's Sheet Metal on the furnace vent pipe repair we needed. Their label was on the furnace.I left a voicemail after hours and faxed pictures of the repairs needed. They called me back the next business day, gave me an estimate over the phone of about $200, and arranged an appt to do the work. They showed up on time, did the work in short order, very professionally. And even gave me the name of another repair service to do the other repairs we were trying to get done. Great experience with Bob's Sheet Metal.

This house, built in 1880, had not been heated for ten years. Before my father passed away he had a new boiler installed which had never been used. The man who did the initial installation has also passed away so we were starting in the middle of the project living 600 miles away. Bobs was recommended to us. We first contacted them through email from their website. Then a telephone call to line things up. First they came into the house and attached the new meter to the boiler. Then, once the gas company ran the new line, they came and hooked up the gas to the house. It was done very professionally, very clean, very trustworthy. We received an invoice that was less than anticipated and when it was paid we were thanked for our business. We can highly recommend this business.

We were very happy with Bob's customer service, although we haven't yet made a decision on a furnace installer.

They come when they say they are going to come. They are reliable. They were very prompt and professional.
