I dropped off my log splitter to have it evaluated for what appeared to be bad cylinder seals on August 4th. I heard nothing back by Labor Day weekend so I stopped in to inquire. The repair tech told me he had been asking his boss the owner to order seals for weeks and he had not done so. In the 10 minute conversation he never apologized to me and kept blaming it on his boss. He told me he would be sure he followed up and would let me know the situation "next week". I never heard back and returned again around the 21st of September. The same tech told me the same story and said he was too busy to deal with it right now and the owner refused to get him the parts he asked for. Again no apology or reasonable explanation. Just excuses and avoidance. I went in again in the middle of October and again was told the same thing by the tech and he suggested I speak to the owner. I drove by on November 10 and saw my splitter sitting outside. I went in to voice my obvious displeasure once again and this time the owner was there. He proceded to throw his tech under the bus blaming him for not working on it and denying he even knew it was there in his shop for 3 months! He then told me he had to order adapters for his pressure tester and it's hard to get them because the business uses a PO Box. Why would he order these (which I doubt highly he did) when he told me he was unaware it was even in the shop. He flatly stated it was not his business to know every piece of equipment that comes in or how long it's there. Of course, no apology or reason why I wasn't at least given the courtesy of a phone call or update. He went on to tell me it might well cost hundreds of dollars to fix. Again on a machine he supposedly didn't even know was in his shop let alone ever worked on. I took my machine and went home completely disgusted. The place is a complete dump with piles of equipment piled everywhere. this should have been my first flag but sometimes those kinds of places are the best bet if you get a good tech. My family had been going there for the past 16 years which makes it even more frustrating. Sadly they're the only game in town so they will continue to get customers who don't want to drive 45 minutes to go someplace else.
