Description of Work: They did a chimney inspection and gave us quotes. Very professional and knowledgeable. We ended up having them install our wood burning insert, they did a great job. There was a slight issue, I called about it and the situation was taken care of quickly. I would recommend them to all my friends.

Description of Work: Because of the cost, new chimney liner was not installed. Instead I purchased a gas log which required no repair to the existing chimney.

Description of Work: Removed damaged crown and pour new crown with overhanging drip edge. Replace top two flue tiles. Tuck point the chimney where needed from roof line up. Waterproof the chimney from roofline up. Everything completed as stated in a timely and professional manner.

Description of Work: Hancock is very good at what they do. They are just very, very expensive. I was given three options (good, better, best). I choose the best and most expensive to insure I did not incur further problems. I was satisfied with what they did. Because of the weather (rain) they had to come back on 3 separate occasions to complete the job but I know it was done correctly.

Description of Work: Inspected wood burning insert due to smoke entering house. Brought clean cloths to cover hearth and carpet to protect from ashes and dirt. Inspected outside and addressed all the issues we had concerns with. Found the problem quickly and solved it - offered further services to correct other issues with roof/chimney that we had concerns about. All around professional job done.

Description of Work: I was not present. The work was done on my rental property in Grand Rapids. My tenant said they arrived on time. They used modern equipment, taking a video of the inside of the chimney. The price was reasonable, although I don't have the invoice handy to report it to you. They responded promptly to my initial call. I would use them again.

Description of Work: when we bought our home we were told the flu needed repair by the appraiser. We called Hancock and the gentleman came within a few days. It turns out our flu did not need repair, it was just a very specific kind of flu popular with well-built homes in the 1920s and 30s. He showed us the difference between our flu and a standard flu and how it should work and how we can maintain it. He also looked at our chimney while he was there and said it was in good shape. In all, he spent nearly 45 minutes at our house helping us learn about our fireplace, flu, and chimney. Very professional and kind. Did not even charge us for the trip out!
