Description of Work: Ver Wys added NuWool insulation to my attic to raise the R value to R-50. They replaced all of my old soffit with ventilated soffit. Baffles were added to each truss room in all attic areas. Basement rim joist foamed. A custom made interior whole house fan cover made and installed. | |Ver Wys did an outstanding job! I was told they'd arrive at 8:00 A.M. And there they were, just as promised. I expected a couple of guys would take care of doing all the work, taking the majority, if not the entire, part of a work day. I sure was wrong. First the job "foreman/setup man/jack-of-all-trades" arrives about 10 minutes early, introduces himself, and starts prepping the job for the other guys. The "other guys" are really 2 teams of guys, each responsible for different parts of the job. One team was responsible for the insulation and soffit with the other doing the foam. The foreman laid drop cloths in the basement for the foamers and drop cloths outside for the soffit/insulation group. He then installed the whole house fan cover and then spent his time helping the crews do their work. All of the workers did a professional job, were very friendly, and answered all my questions gladly and completely. The entire job was complete by lunch time. Everything was done as expected. They cleaned up both the inside and outside of the house, leaving things as they found them. This company is the real deal and I unequivocally recommend them and expect to make use of their services myself in the future. | |Thanks Doug!

Description of Work: Insulated some areas that were cold. |Energy audit was terrific. Communications and scheduling was a bit confusing, right hand not knowing left hand...It was worked out and service was done completed how well this works will be determined by the winter weather.

Description of Work: They insulated my theater room ceiling with cellulose insulation. Wow! My kids can watch the loudest movies, doesn't even register in the kitchen directly above! AMAZING!!! They patched the holes, too, and you can't even tell they were here! (Except for the quiet!)

He was on time when he first came out to go over with what we needed to have done after our Energy Audit. Doug was very informative and knowledgable. He went over everything that he was going to do and explained why he was doing it this way. His employees were very professional and did a fantastic job, they were very efficient and when they finished all the mess was cleaned up very well, very little dust. A very good experience

+ -1 moreI searched on Angie's List and they had good ratings. He was local. They deal more in older homes with our type of problems and he had more options for us and made more sense to us. He really explained things well and the price was less. They gave us a quote of $2600 for the work. They will be doing our work in October of this year.
Description of Work: Ver Wys Home Improvement gave us an estimate for insulation work. We have an older home and the job was to take out all the old insulation and put in new insulation.

The work started exactly when I was told it would, the workers were very proficient, the job when by in a timely fashion, they cleaned up after the job very well, and the windows looked excellent after installation. I was well pleased with the job done.
Description of Work: Two large window openings and five average sized openings of window replacements---4 picture windows and 9 double hung windows were replaced with new energy efficient double pane windows.

+ 2 moreI never did call company back, and debated on writing a report. During our second meeting we agreed he would send me an estimate and I could go over, choose what i wanted done. With my amout of money next to what the job would cost I felt the repairs would not save me money down the road. I was very interested in insulation, for my basement.
Description of Work: When i initially met owner, I was impressed with his knowledge. I have a home that is old and needs all kinds of work. Doug Vandermeer, owner, arrived on time, spent lots of time with me and my home. Measured and we talked about my finances, some. I later called him, he had lost my measurements, came back and measured again. When i received my email with bid. My first name was wrong. honest mistake or, not sure, possibly he didn't take me serious. I said during first meeting, i could probably only spend $2000. I felt the estimate was way out of my range. I did try to check out company. BBB showed good rating.
