Description of Work: We had Tim and company reroof our entire house with asphalt shingles and install gutters for the first time. The finished product looks great and we received a solid 30 year warranty. However, the process was a bit of a headache because communication regarding the date of service, warranty paperwork, and details of the project were usually lagging. I often had to call and leave a message for more information or an estimate of when someone might come, although it was always returned. On the date of the reroofing, the crew of young men didn't speak to my husband or ask any questions about preferences or give any updates on any extra wood to replace even though he stayed home from work to oversee the project. One attic beam was found to be cracked after the whole project was completed, so a guy had to come out a second time to tear off shingles, fix the beam, and repair the spot. Everything got done eventually, but it felt less than organized and I often had to pursue communication when I thought I should have been notified already. The owner, Tim, handled most of the contract and scheduling details himself and was very kind. We still felt we should hold off on paying the invoice until all the warranty paperwork was in hand, because it was clear we were a small project for a busy company.

Description of Work: Veenkamp Roofing replace both roofs on my home and garage. They tore off two layers of shingle--Cedar Shake & architect grade shingle, laid down 3/4 inch plywood boards, pad and a top quality architectural grade shingle. They cleaned up nicely.

Description of Work: House is 50 years old. Veenkamp employees tore off 2 roofs, replaced cracked boards as needed and were honest folks. Jose, the foreman, was a delight to work with. They put on the premium ice and water shield, underlayment, and the Owens Corning roof. They swept and blew off any dust and dirt BEFORE putting down any layers of material. They did all of this in 2 days. Tim Veenkamp, the owner, is honest and great to work with. He delivered on everything he said his employees would do. His contract was written in plain English, not by some expensive attorney. One of his competitors, highly rated by Angie's List submitted a contract to me that clearly said his responsibility ENDED after the roof was installed although his contract with Owens Corning says he is responsible for the fist 2 years of any workmanship problems.  + -1 moreWe had several estimates and while Veenkamp was not the lowest we felt more comfortable with them since they seemed professional, polite, and on time (unlike some). Project was started on time, went better than I even expected. The crew was awesome, they were very nice, and worked hard. They did an awesome job of making sure the old roofing and such went into the dumpster and not all over my yard. Very considerate of my property! My wife and I both were very impressed with the work and the roof looked so great when they were done. Would definately use them again if ever I need a new roof. Only issue was the roofers tried to put my satelite dish back on the roof and did not do it correctly so had dish move it to a pole. The did come back and replace the effected shingles so it is all good. So one small issue but not big enough to knock them to less than and A.

I felt I was charged a fair price, and they came in at what was quoted. I would use Veenkamp again and recommend them to others.

 + 0 moreTim Veenkamp (owner) was easy to get ahold of when I tried. He kept his work regarding when the workers would arrive. The crews were considerate and polite, and tried not to smash the plants around the house's foundation. The gutters were removed before the new soffits were installed, and they were neatly piled up in the backyard, out of the way. New holes needed to be cut into the existing wooden soffit to allow better ventilation in the attic, which is messy, but they cleaned up their mess afterward. The gutters were replaced as agreed upon and the soffit area looks much better.
Description of Work: We had new soffits installed, which involved removing rain gutters, cutting holes in the old wooden soffits for adequate attic ventilation, adding new soffits around the entire house, covering the fascia as well, and putting everything back together again. There were two sets of subcontractors, the 'gutter guys' and the soffit installers. Both crews were very polite and considerate.

 + -1 moreWe contacted Veenkamps in early April to get an estimate and then decided to have them do the repair. A week or so later they came and did the work but the next time it rained it still leaked but not as much. They came back a couple weeks later and patched again. It still had a small leak so they said they would be back when they had a minute. Finally in early May I called Mr. Veenkamp and said that we would pay the remainder of the bill and trust that they would be back. Mr. VeenKamp called and said they would not forget us and would be back when they had a minute. That was in early May and we have not seen or heard anything from them since.
Description of Work: We had a leak in our porch roof due to a valley needing patching.
