Locally owned and operated. SWAT Environmental has installed over 50,000 radon systems. All of our technicians are trained in engineering the most effective and non-intrusive remediation systems in the industry.
The technician called while on the way to our appointment and arrived on schedule. He completed the job in a very timely and efficient manner and explained the process during each step. Cleanup of the project was thorough as well. All in all, the technician was highly professional in all aspects of the service, and we are quite pleased with the outcome of the project.

Disaster from the beginning. The tech. was nice and polite but I don't think he was experienced. He didn't know how to take the sump cover off to begin with. After prying the cover off with a prybar and making a plastic cover, the damage started. First problem was where he decided to drill the hole. He must not have measured and just started drilling into the side of my house. I went outside to see how it was going and he was drilling right through my Hardie Board siding and almost into the dining room. When he pulled the hole saw out, he had actually cut about halfway through the top of one of my engineered floor joists. I had to demand he stop even though he thought it was okay to go through the joist and wanted to go through the one next to it. The end result could have been a total disaster with my floor collapsing. To make things worse, he then drilled an almost 5" hole through my foundation wall. I didn't realize holes this big need a structural engineer to consult since it can affect the integrity of the wall. The final insult was when the job wasn't finished and he left because it was late. No electrical hookup, no vents, just a ugly pipe sticking outside the house with a fan sitting on it but not working. The guys boss claimed the cut joist was no big deal and they never contacted me to rectify the damage or finish the job. I had to call someone else to repair the mess. I have yet to decide if a lawsuit is warranted and am getting quotes for the repairs just in case.

Description of Work: They installed a Radon Mitigation System. Steven was very polite and professional. They actually quoted me 4 months prior and called me back with a discounted price. 150. 00 less which prompted us to go ahead and have this done. Our levels were at 4 just at the safe zone but we have children sleeping in our basement so better be safe. Steven came on Saturday walked us through the process and did a great job installing. Took him 3 or 4 hours. He put it in the basement utility room and up into our garage roof. Can't really comment on how long it lasts or if our numbers changed at this time. Since we only had it done three days ago. The company did a detailed quote and stuck with the same price no added costs. Steven left us with another test kit so we can compare our Radon levels.

Said they'd take care of it and would return after Miss Dig came out. It's been two weeks. Miss Dig has not come out and they have not returned. I've called them three times and have had the most horrendous customer service experience imaginable. Wouldn't recommend them to an enemy! Spoke with Joe Daniel in customer service and his supervisor, Steve Dawson, wouldn't come to the phone to address the issue.
Description of Work: Came to my house, told me that they need to call Miss Dig before a mitigation system could be installed.

Very bad employers are rude and have no idea to serve a customer . This company never notified me that there was an appointment for an installation. Never received a confirmation or phone call but on the day of installation. This company charged me with a fee for cancelation when I was not aware of an appointment. The company had charged me with a fee for $195 dollars for doing absolutely nothing. When I had called to see what was going on the employer had instead went I to a fight ing match with me throwing out all customer service along with it. I would not go to this company. All the representatives work I. The office and have no clue what really goes on outside of that.

The system works great and we don't have radon in our basement anymore! However, the actual pipes they installed rattle against the side of our house and is so bad I can't sleep at night. I have called and emailed repeatedly, including sending them pictures and they refuse to even call me back.

I google searched radon map view in the Grand Rapids area and called a number of places. This provider had the most thorough checklist of questions about my house, provided the most comprehensive email written quote, has the longest fan warranty (all have lifetime workmanship...but this company is national, so it's more likely to be around) and was the cheapest. Nick was my installer and did a great job and actually recommended and installed a cheaper option than I contracted over the phone. Professional, detailed and provided a lot of good knowledge for me as a homeowner. I'd recommend their service over other more expensive providers.
Description of Work: Radon mitigation system via 4-inch PVC pipe installed into sump pump area, out through side wall of house connected to a fan and piped to roofline (per EPA specs).
