Description of Work: I had one question--was the electric supply to my home grounded. (The short answer is "yes".) However, the electrician said that there should be a another ground which will cost me over $1,100. I have a friend who is in an electrical apprentice program and will have him look at all of this. I was not happy with the "Electric Professor" about 5 years ago and I'm still not happy with the "Service Professor."

Description of Work: The Service Professor Technician Jim Foley was able to fix the electrical problem at my home by replacing a single pole switch and installed a GFI outlet |and made recommendations for other electrical services that are necessary for this old farm home. I was very impressed with the customer service provided by Mr. Foley and appreciated the extra time he took to explain the services and products that would make my electrical system safer and more economical.

Description of Work: The repairman, I felt, was persistent in trying to sell me a new water heater. He kept repeating how old my water heater was and that usually they don't work beyond the age of my water heater. My daughter heard some of our conversation and felt he was being very pushy. I even brought it to his attention, but he still was persistent. I am not sure of the date this service was performed; however, it did happen several months ago.

We would like to apologize to you for feeling pressured by our plumbing technician to replace your existing water heater. It is not our policy to sell anyone something they do not need. Our plumbing technician wanted you to fully understand the current state of your water heater based on his professional evaluation of your appliance. We also would like you to know the government has initiated a mandate which takes effect on April 16, 2015 requiring new regulations on the manufacturing and installation of water heaters. This mandate means customers will have to pay more for replacement water heaters and may also be required to have their plumbing (and possibly some remodeling,) performed to bring their home's system in compliance. Your service was performed in November of 2014. We hope your water heater continues to work, and you give us the opportunity to service your home systems again in the future. We also want you to know your concerns have been addressed with our technicians to make sure they take each customer's feelings into consideration when suggesting replacement of appliances. Description of Work: Technician from service professor came out for an air conditioner tune-up that I purchased as a deal on Angie's List. Tech was patient and professional in answering all of my questions and giving detailed explanations of the issues. (I usually have an excessive amount of questions and ask for a lot of details.) Tech found a couple of non-urgent issues with air conditioner system and gave quotes for repair of those issues. After preliminary price comparisons for those quotes, it appears Service Professor's regular prices for repair work are reasonable, maybe even a little better than much of their competition. I'll have to gather a little more info on pricing to get a better idea about that.

Description of Work: Inspected/flushed water heater. Great rate and professional job. Also had them install a garbage disposal I purchased replacing the same model that went bad. Professional job done by Jim but cost me $234 to install. I thought that was pricey. However they did tell me up front what the cost would be which I accepted. I was in a pinch and couldn't install it myself because of back problems. Again, professional work but I thought it was pricey.

There are many home repair companies in business who will do the same work we do and charge less for it, but they will also buy lower grade materials which cost less and will not last as long! Our professional technicians use high quality materials (i.e. wire, pipe, conduit, etc...) At first you won't see a difference, but in terms of the life of your system, our service repair and installations will last longer than those who choose inferior materials.
