The company owner misrepresented the crew that he agreed to send stating that we would get a mature, experienced crew that would need no supervision. Instead we got a man who brought his young cousins with him to do the work. They arrived without all of the needed tools and supplies, and were unsure of what the job entailed. The owner was absent, and did not supervise or interact with his crew on a daily basis, requiring us to basically supervise them and instruct them on what needed to be scraped, caulked, and primed. We were told that a member of the crew was able to re-glaze our windows and replace damaged wood siding, The glazing was done improperly or was missed. Half the boards that were replaced were split because the crew used nails that were too large. The owner did not supply the materials, and the paint crew had to apply out of pocket - for which we felt the need to reimburse immediately in order to assure that materials would be on site. When we asked to get a quote for painting the storm windows - there was a miscommunication between the company owner and the crew - they went ahead and primed the storm windows without cleaning or prepping them in any way - and when we confronted the owner he told us that the wind blew dirt onto the freshly primed windows - even though the dirt was covered in paint - not sitting on top of the paint job. Though we were told the house would be brushed - the crew used rollers on wood siding from the ground with extension poles. The ceiling on the porch was badly peeling, but the crew primed right over it, without scraping at all - and did not paint it. I could go on. We terminated the relationship - at which point he offered to send another crew. This crew was much better - and revealed to us that they often were called in to clean up messes. They saved the paint job from being a total loss, but we decided to pull all of the fine detail work on the front of the house because we lacked confidence in his crews. We have rehabbed a total of 3 houses - this was the worst experience in working with a contractor. He never acknowledged that his original crew was sloppy and careless in their work (like using gray primer on trim that was to be pained white and leaving gray primer on the interior window sills which will now require us to repaint). He did not offer a discount to the original quote even though this was a grueling ordeal and his website has a 20% coupon posted - A most unpleasnt experience, and one which has cost us a lot of time to come behind to correct their mistakes.
