Purchased a 5 year warranty from these people for sofa & love seat with recliners. One of the recliners keeps rubbing on the wood every time you go to close it. Not only is guardsmen's policy for putting in a service request ridiculous (call the # so they can email you an extremely complicated form to fill out, then mail the form to them & wait to hear something, only to get an email over 10 days later that they have received the form & it will be processed in the order it was received), but then you receive an email that states that the "timeframe" from when the problem was reported to the processing & then the final response has passed. Conveniently, you are not covered. Got to love all those little loopholes.
Description of Work: Beware of this provider & their warranty plans.

After the review the company could not provide a service person to do the work and promised to refund the service call fee that was supposed to come off the bill when we had the service performed. They never refunded the service fee.
Description of Work: The provider sent out a rep to look at my furniture to determine if it could be repaired or needed complete refinishing.

I had a terrible experience, and feel absolutely mislead. Guardsman tries to wiggle out of things, and makes people go through vast amounts of hurdles in the hopes that people will give up.
Description of Work: I purchased Guardsman for a Natuzzi soft from Furniture Land South in North Carolina. At the store, they said that Guardsman warranty would cover animal damage. I never received another set of terms for Guardsman in terms of their coverage; although the company states that they did. When my wife reported a puncture in the sofa, she thought it was a cat scratch, but in actuality it was a tool that I had in my pocket. When my wife reported the incident, the person stated they will process it, and 1-2 days later, we received that animal damage was not covered. When I confessed, that it was me and that I did the damage, I called in, and re-opened the case and stated that it was a tool. Guardman had me fill a form, wait a week and then asked me to send photos. Then after all it was done, told me they did not cover it because the same incident cannot be reported twice, and since the original report was animal, they do not cover it, and that the numerous other representatives should have told you this. In retrospect, they hide their terms. They do not cover scratches, and they draw people in to send photos, so that they cannot be reported months later. They basically had me go through tremendous loopholes without disclosing the terms early, to find a means to deny coverage. It is a dirty company, and I will tell Furniture Land South to consider another warranty company.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Would NEVER EVER buy another Guardsman protection plan. I deleted all the correspondence from Guardsman and all my emails so I don't remember the exact date. It may have been April or May 2012. No exact date remembered.
Description of Work: I purchase a dining room table and chairs at Weekends Only in Fairview Heights, IL. I don't remember the date. I purchase the $80 or so Guardsman protection plan so if the table or chairs got scratched, it was covered for repairs for 5 years. It was about 2 years after I purchased the table, my daughter and grandson came for a visit and she wears Miss Me jeans that have lots of sequins on the pockets. She sat in a chair and scratched it. My grandson ran a metal toy across the table and made a small scratch there too. I had some other scratches on chairs from buttons on my jean pockets I called and wrote Guardmans to get these repaired. They responded with all kinds of conditions to send them before they would even consider repairing the table and chairs. Pictures emailed in and descriptions, etc which I realize is standard. I read the policy to them and it stated exactly that scratches, gouches, paint problems, etc WERE COVERED!! After waiting for answers from them, I would call and email them over and over. I spoke to so many different personnel I had to start taking notes. They went around and around with me and then finally said they would not fix my table or chairs as they were faded! They were not faded. Taking pictures with my digital camera picked up all the colors in the paint and all it was, was the furniture finish has lighter and darker tones in it that blend for a nice finish. They also said there was no repair person in our area. I talked to supervisors and everyone I could but they were horrible and I got no action. I finally wrote the Better Business Bureau to get some action. They made Guardsman do something. Finally, Guardsman said they would replace the table if I could find it or give me a $245 settlement. Well of course I could not find the table at Weekends Only as they only carry 1 or 2 and when they are sold, there is no more. They paid me the $245 and I still have a scratched table and chairs. I WOULD NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER buy a Guardsman protection plan. On my part, it was horrible to deal with them AND I feel they WILL find a way out of repairing your furniture even when their policy stated clearly it covered scratches. They could have at least sent someone to look at it. It was very minor scratches and repairs.

Overall I wish I had my money back and I've learned to really read a contract. I hope others will be stopped from wasting good money on a company that uses every loophole they can to keep your money.
Description of Work: Guardman offers warranties on furniture, upholstery, etc. If you do not follow their instructions to the "T" you are deemed to have not followed the instructions given on paper and therefore service is refused. In my case I didn't follow the required timeframe by just 1 day. I called to report damage to my leather sofa within the 5 day period stated. But, because I did not get the paperwork to them within 30 days from the report day, during this period I was in an auto accident, I was not eligible for warranty repairs. If you look on the internet there are many many other comments similar to mine where Guardsman refused to provide warranty repairs for some really ridiculous, petty reasons - for me, paperwork 1 day late. I had to pay $100 to have 2 ink spots removed from my sofa.
