Gordon Water Systems

This installation could not have gone any better! Gordon Water Systems outperformed my expectations. The two installers were early, worked their tails off under difficult basement conditions, moved the install location at my request, got everything installed, tested, then instructed me on how to use it. However - technicians Sam Eyk and Micah Sims also literally saved me the entire contents of my basement, when they realized that the water meter attached to the house was in extremely delicate condition due to rust, and could fail at any time, completely flooding the basement. They warned me of it and worked to make sure they did not cause me an issue. These guys are smart, on their game, and I could not be more pleased with the system or the installers.

AS a customer, I received excellent service at every level. WE had the perfect equipment installed for a difficult to treat water problem. There installation went smoothly and the staff were professional and informed. I would give a five star rating and recommend to my friends.

Tony K was great! He figured out the problem which of course was someone putting in the filters incorrectly. Bad part is that messed up my membrane. So out the door with new filters and membrane it was almost $200 on top of the great deal I picked up but I believe it was worth it. I am happy with my services and would do it again. The technician was on time ,friendly and very professional . He tested my well water out of the well and then after it went through the softener system. He keep me informed at every steep . I am very happy with the service I received.

Very smoothly. The representative was extremely professional. I explained that we had moved in recently and I was unfamiliar with how a water softener system worked. He took the time to explain everything very clearly, and answer all of my questions. The service order inadvertently omitted the two bags of salt promised in the offer, but he apologized and brought them the next day. He even carried the 40-pound bags to our basement and pour them into the tank.

They always screwed up A/R, so they'd apply payments to the wrong accounts. Then I would get nasty letters saying that my account was in arrears, but of course the arrears amount they showed in one account had a positive balance in another account for the same amount. They did this nearly every time I had a delivery. It was a hassle but when I would call in the manager would apologize for the umpteenth time, and say it would be corrected (which it was), blah blah blah. I lived with this because I liked the softener brand and their delivery guys did a nice job. Things changed when they put a person named "Doris" in charge. When I called in to explain the problem, Doris was incredibly rude. I tried to explain what happened, but she told me "too bad". Literally. She then told me any future orders would be COD, I explained to her that I had done business with her company for 20+ years and that I would not accept COD terms. At that point I told her that I was closing my accounts, and that she should arrange to pick up the rental units. Her response was "That's fine". I hired a new company (Canney's - they are excellent) and replaced the equipment. Of course, Gordons never came and got their rental units until after my 3rd call. On that third call, I told them they had 48 hours to get the stuff or it was going in the trash. I thought the matter was done, but of course, no. I have since received two separate letters from them threatening legal action. Each time, I have called in to them and told them that I would be glad to pay them any money I owed them, but my balance showed zero. I requested that they provide 2 years worth of service and payment info so I could reconcile it with my data, but I never received it. Each time I did this, I talked to a manager (my bad for not getting their names), but they assured me that they would review this, they were sorry, and they would get back to me in "2 or 3 days". Not surprisingly, I never heard from them again, but I do expect that at some point I will get another threatening letter. Bottom line ---- I wouldn't use this company again - EVER!

I had first stopped in to inquire about getting a new softener as to fix my old was going to cost as much as a brand new equivalent. Instead of fixing it I decided to upgrade with a new non electric unit. I talked to Phil Miller at their Kalamazoo location about prices on several units and found one that fit my needs and budget I felt no pressure into buying anything even when I said I wanted to just keep it in mind and look around to see what else was available. To elaborate a bit more on Phil, he was wonderful to deal with, kinda funny and quirky at the same time but I say that in a good way though. I feel I have made a long term relationship with Gordon Water because of him. 3 days went by when I called back and set up an installation, they were on time, the installation went faster than expected, Tommy was great, very professional, very nice and answered all my questions. Overall feel I made the right investment with a lease to purchase option that made sense to me. Their systems do cost a little more than your average unit that you can buy at sears and throw away in 5 years. When you consider that, these systems make more sense, will pay for themselves quickly, and get many years of use out of it, and they made it more affordable for me per month than the salt I was putting in my old unit, for that reason I couldn't pass it up. For anyone looking to get service done to their current water softener, replace it, or any other bottled water or filtration solution I highly recommend Gordon Water, stop in and ask for Phil (the bald guy) Miller. They have a variety of solutions to fit nearly every budget.

Tony was the tech that came to my house. He performed a water softener check up on an existing softener to a house I had just purchased. He was extremely informative and helpful! I was extremely satisfied with the service and would highly highly recommend to anyone needing service on a water softener.

Ordered this service on Angie's list. The call back to schedule service was the next day. Date was set for one of my preferred days. Technician was on time and very courteous. I was very satisfied with the work and my R/O system is working like new. I would recommend Gordon water service to others.

Installers were on time and very efficient. They took the time to clean the area where the old system was and even laid tile in that area. They made sure system was working properly and explained in detail how to maintain and operate the system. The only negative thing I can say is that when you ask for the 15% discount they offer for members of Angie's List they tell you that your labor warranty goes from 10 years to 1 year. You are getting a contractors price so labor is only for 1 year. I still took the discount and just hope the unit is as good as they claim and I won't need any repairs. The unit still has a 10 year warranty on all parts.

Tom D. and company really stepped up and resolved our hard water issues. We had very hard organic water and it was even green and stinky! They provided a new water conditioning system that simply erased any evidence of unclean, hard water. Their follow up and professionalism is second to none, extremely happy with the results, thanks!

It went very well and I am very happy with the installation and performance of the water softener.

We currently used Besco for our water softener. After going to home show we decided we wanted the Kinetico system which we thought we could only get from Gordons. Salesman started off good, showed us the product and told us Besco sells product as well but they could not sell to us do to territories each company can sell to. Out of curiosity my husband made a trip to Besco to check on system there. We were told the same exact system was $1,500 less but that they could not sell it to us. My husband then called salesman at Gordons figuring we would get the same price there. Salesman told us that Besco should not have told us their price and it didnt matter because that was his price and we had to pay the higher amount. My husband then called the manufacturer to let them know we wanted the system but were not paying 1,500 extra because of were we live. Didnt get a call back so husband called again. After some more time salesman finally called to tell us we could pay Bescos price this one time. He said he would call back to schedule install. Three days later he called to say someone could come out the next morning. After all the waiting we got one days notice but were so happy to be finally getting it we didnt mind. From that point on all went ok and we now have the system at the price we wanted. Definitely would not deal with that salesman again!

The product and service is fantastic

I liked their services. They were thorough and prompt. They were very good. Their pricing was reasonable.

Went well overall.The salesman came within a couple of days of our first call. He gave us a rapid accurate assessment based on his chemical testing and what we already knew. The water from the well was high in iron and minerals. The old (20 years+) iron removal system was non-functional and was leaking premanganate onto the basement floor. The water smelled of hydrogen sulfide and there was a discoloration of the water. We decided to put in Gordon's "Iron Curtin" system linked to the old Kinetico softener system which seemed to still be functional.They were able to schedule installation within a week. The installer was very professional, put in the new iron removal system tying it to the existing softener system and removed the old permanganate iron removal system and particle filter. Clean-up was good. He suggested some ways to clean the existing permanganate stains from the floor which we have yet to try. The installer completed his work, checked out the system and explained it to me within ~2 hours. He had to conduct this activity in the presence of several other workers who were installing a new HVAC system, and working on the stairs in the basement as well. he did a nice job. So far, the system appears to be doing a good job. There is no sulfur smell or iron precipitate in the water.

I have been using Gordon Water's "The better water people" for my office drinking and coffee water for the last four years. Tom Duisterhof initialy got us set up with a cooler that I purchased and a regular supply of bottled water. Last week I noticed that a part was cracked and the water was comming out of the tap verry slowly. I forgot to mention that to the customer service person when I ordered my next shipment of water. When Adam came out to drop off my order of water, I showed him what was cracked. He came right back with the part I needed. We flushed out the sump, put in the new part, and the water is comming out better than ever! I am very pleased that in a day of having to order everything and waiting, that Gordon Water had common parts on hand in their delievery truck. Way to go!
