I was informed by my renter that he had to shut the water off because water was leaking from the bathroom sink and had managed to leak through the ventilation system and into the basement. In a panic, I called a name I had heard on the radio, Godwin Plumbing. Carl met me at the house the same day and assessed the situation. We actually discovered that the pipes had frozen and would need to be replaced, not just the bathroom sink leaking. However, when we turned the water back on so he could see the leak, we heard popping from the electrical wires and had to turn the water back off. He advised me to have someone take care of the electrical issue before he could do anything about the plumbing. I met an electrician at the house the next day and as he and I were assessing the situation we found more broken pipes and water coming out of them. We had shut off the water so we had no idea where it was coming from. I called Godwin and asked to have someone call me back and tell me what else I need to do to get the water to turn off. No one called me back and so I called another local plumber who met me at the house. He advised me to have the city come turn off the water from outside which is what I did. This was late on a Friday and while I had the electrician coming back Monday, I had yet to schedule the actual plumbing work. I called Godwin back on Monday after hearing from the other plumber that he didn't have the manpower to fix the situation quickly. I explained to them that I called Friday about the additional water leaking and that no one had called me back. They assured me that it is not their practice to not call people back and apologized. I asked if someone could come do the work on Wednesday as the electrician would be done Tuesday. We agreed on a time Wednesday to meet and Carl met me at the house to perform the work. Toward the end of the day Carl called me back to tell me that the shower pipes were also frozen and needed to be replaced which would require them to cut a hole in the kitchen wall to access the shower pipes and that he couldn't come back until Friday. This left me an entire week with no water so that was frustrating but since the tenant had yet to actually move in, it all worked out. Carl and I agreed on 10am Friday morning. I met the insurance adjuster at the home at 9:45 expecting that Carl would arrive at 10 and perhaps they could speak with each other. At 10:15 someone from Godwin dropped off some parts for Carl that were unrelated to my project. I called Carl to find out where he was and he said they changed his schedule on him and he doesn't have any control over it but that he was leaving Rockford at that time. That meant he was another 20-25 minutes out and I had to get back to work. Thus, I told him I would leave the door unlocked and he would just have to lock the handle before he left. He agreed that was fine. I then proceeded to ask him about how I would get the invoice and he said he would call me when he was done with the job and we could discuss that later. I agreed that was fine. I never heard from Carl again. I called Godwin the following Wednesday to find out the status of not only the project but my invoice as the insurance company was waiting for it. No one at Godwin was clear on what was going on with the project. The first woman told me that Carl had to order a part and was waiting on the part. That of course made me nervous since I made an assumption that the project was complete and we had been using the water. She then had the service manager, Ty, call me back. He had to call Carl because he too was not clear on the status of the project. He did apologize and explained how the miscommunication happened and sent me the work order that day. The work performed was adequate and acceptable and I found the pricing to be reasonable. However, the lack of communication was unacceptable in my opinion.

|This is a very good shop and they have been around for a long time. I`m a handyman , but I cant beat them for doing it right the first time.

I have used Godwin Plumbing Services and Godwin Heating & Cooling services for 20 years . I wouldn't use anyone else. They have seminars for women periodically in their store. I went to one on Plumbing Repair and one on Electrical Repair. As a result I have been able to do a lot of my own repairs by purchasing parts at their store. They have plumbers who not only sell parts they will also answer any questions and explain how to do the repairs. So when my outside faucets started leaking I purchased the parts needed and discussed with the plumber what needed to be done. Over the years there were jobs that required a plumber to come to my house, like installing a new garbage disposal. Every Godwin plumber I have met has been friendly, efficient, and professional. Their prices are in line with the services provided. I have also used Godwin Heating and Cooling. The first time was when my air conditioner quit on the hottest Sunday of the year. I called and left a message since they are not open on Sundays. The repair man called me first thing the next morning and came out and replaced the part that had failed. He also inspects my furnace in the fall. Here again the price is in line with the job.

They did very well and I have no problems.

He was here for four and a half_x000D_|hours never took a brake and cleaned up the work area wonderfully. would _x000D_|definetly have them again.

They were excellent. It was probably last year sometime. I thought they had a good reputation in the area. I think they were probably average just what other people would charge. That was outstanding.

He was on time, professional, very nice. This sink had been repeatedly fixed and for some reason anyone else who had done it, it would get leaky within a few months again. He knew the real issue and realized it needed a better drain and he fixed it with no problem. A very nice gentleman, very polite. I've had to call for the last 2 years to have this fixed by others and in the end we just needed higher quality drain and professional plumber.

The water softener salesman was very friendly and informative. He answered all my questions and recommended a product based on my personal usage. The plumber who installed the water heater and water softener was very nice. The only negative thing was that the estimate given by the salesman was quite a bit lower than the actual cost.

I was very happy with my experience with Godwin. I called them up to see if they fix gas leaks. Since it wasn't a major leak they didn't have an opening until the following week which was fine due to the Thanksgiving holiday and my work schedule. The technician showed up on time and the job only took about 10 minutes to complete. I was quoted $175 over the phone for the job and it only cost $88. I did feel a little cheated on the times though. They bill for the service call, then $19 every 15 minutes. I looked at the clock when he got there, and when he left. It appears he had added 5 minutes on each end. Not a big deal, but kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. Overall though, I am satisfied with the experience and will hire Godwin again when I need them to work on my shower.

They removed my old water heater that I had for about 18 years and replaced it with a new one. The installer initially came and talked me through my options and then when I decided on what I wanted, they called in to have the new water heater delivered while he worked on removing the old one. In a couple hours he had the old one removed and the new one up and running. He did a great job.

Godwin Hardware & Plumbing Inc. went through my house and solved my issue. He went through all my pipes and explained to me that my pipes were updated. That was a relief. And he also told me what kind of piping I had and if I needed, in the future, to change it, he recommended what I should change to and why and what not to change to. Because of the fact that it's cheaper and more durable. It's a newer kind of product that is out there in the market. But he said my plumbing looked good. He went through all my plumbing with me, explained exactly each line to me. He took my upstairs to look at my plumbing in the bathroom and down in my kitchen, which is not what he was contracted to do. He explained to me that my tub was in good shape. I don't need to remove my tub. I did have a window that was creating mold and there's new windows out there that do mold. He was just so thorough. I found out that it was not my plumbing, but then he gave me other tips that I needed to look at to fix the problem, even though it wasn't a job he could do. It was just a relief to have someone tell me that. I was just amazed.

Punctional, friendly and perfessional. Arrived on time. Took time to do the job right. Checked all gas connections to assure no leaks, and in working order. Even hooked up washer for me. Brian was very professional and personable. We are confident that the work he performed for us is good-quality. We've had no leaks or drips. Originally the shower valve and spigot were installed too high, and we were charged for Brian to return and lower it. But overall the price was more than fair and Godwin was more than willing to help us when we ran into some trouble with our tub (unrelated to Godwin or the work they performed for us). Would definitely recommend and will call them in the future should we need a plumber.

Gentleman arrived when he said he would and was very professional. Was here for 4 hours and never stopped. When he was finished he took me downstairs and showed me everything he had done and how to use it. No mess. As I said, very professional. I will definitely use this company again.

The technician showed up in a timely fashion, investigated the leak in the soldered pipe and proceeded to reseat the pipe with new solder. In a matter of minutes he had fixed and tested the pipe.

The plumber's at Godwin plumbing were fantastic. Completely plumbed shower with new values and sweat connections. My house had been a forclosure and vacant for some time. They took time (free of charge) and walked me around my house explaining everything to me. They took 2 hours (not charged!!) to explain to me how to keep maintenance of my pipes what cleaners to use, future plumbing needs (even showed me what to do). I will be using them for any plumbing needs I have in the future. They are very busy company so if you can call in advance it works better.

I was very pleased with the first time they came out, and we had another problem with our toilet prior to Godwin coming out. . I don't think the first plumbing company fixed the problem so.... Godwin came out and diagnosed the problem, and told me we didn't need another toilet which I thought we might. fixed the problem, cleaned up and also checked our other toilet for any problems... ( I had asked him to do this prior to them coming to the home) very pleased....

I called them and a man came out the next day. He changed the heads out and also said that because of the township that we live in that we have really hard water. He suggested that we install a water softener inside and also outside for the sprinkler heads. I told him that I did not want to spend the extra money to have it installed outside too. Another man came out and thought we were putting it in both places. We were charged more for only installing it inside than if we would have installed it outside as well. I spoke with the manager and he came out the next day. He apologized and explained that it takes less time to hook up both than just the one so that's why it costs more. This was never explained to me when the job was being done. I gave a D rating on the price because of this.

The service was excellent. The air conditioning works great. I have no complaints.
