Very good. He fixed the problem and even cleaned around the area the leak was at. He was nice enough to take shoes off before entering our house.

Bottom line - we have decided to go elsewhere. Our house has a 10-year old 65 gallon water heater and we are going to replace it in the interest of preventative maintenance. The representative from Affordable Plumbing told us that 65 gallon tanks were no longer available, and we would have to choose either 50 or 75. Not a big deal, but read on. They presented a quote in both sizes with good, better, best options, the only apparent variable being the length of the warranty. When the representative presented the quote, he also presented an invoice for $49 for the "evaluation". I paid it, although this charge was not mentioned when I made the appointment. I went on the Bradford White web site so I could try to learn about the differences in the good, better, best scenarios. The web site has dozens of options. So I called Affordable and asked them to give me the model numbers that were quoted on so I could do the research. The first thing they said was the "good" option was no longer available. Okay. They gave me 2 model numbers. I looked them up and one was for high altitude (2000 feet above sea level) I live in Lowell at about 750 feet above sea level. I called again and asked for some clarification. To this day, I have not heard back from them. Since I haven't heard back from them, I can only conclude that the good-better-best thing was all baloney. Differentiation through obfuscation. I have since had two other companies give me quotes. Neither one had any problem locating a 65 gallon unit. Neither one charged me $50 for the opportunity to quote. Finally, Affordable pricing was the highest of the three who quoted. I guess you can name your company anything you want, but in my opinion, Affordable is a misnomer.

There was some confusion on who and when someone was supposed to call me to schedule my appointment. I finally called them after waiting hours, because I was trying not to be impatient. After that was all figured out, the plumber looked young, but I was pleased with how he installed our toilet. We did an angieslist deal for two hours, and he got the toilet done early, so we had him install the bathroom sink too! Very happy, and will use again in the future!

Excellent service. Called in the morning and someone was there by the early afternoon. Very professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely use them in the future.

In addition to calling right back, Affordable walked us through the very important step of turning our pump off over the phone. This saved us a lot of trouble and damage, and it happened on a Saturday afternoon. They came out first thing on Monday to assess, got an electrician involved as needed, and had the whole problem diagnosed and solved as quickly as possible. They kept in great communication about progress the whole time and charged a fair price. We will definitely use them again.

In one word - Outstanding! In 6 words - Competent - Detailed - Fast - Affordable - Honest - Ethical Nick responded to my call quickly, conducted a very thorough system inspection and provided a detailed quote that was spot on. He was knowledgeable and actually cared about how he could be responsive to our special circumstances having the responsibility of restoring the system from Denver. The job required 2-1/2 days because of access issues and was completed on schedule. Nick showed up on time every day, coordinated with our friend in GR to get access, offered several money and time saving options that resulted in completion on time and in budget to the penny. He communicated with me in Denver several times with text, photos and a call. Installed a new hot water tank. Corrected both a water tank flue and furnace flue problem that was unsafe and not up to code ?increased flue size. Had to install a chimney flue liner to meet code. Replaced gas feed pipes and new gas shutoff valve. Installed 2 new ADA compliant toilets. Removed the old tank and toilets. Ran a camera through the sewer drains. Replaced a 45 year old kitchen sink faucet that was spraying out. Tested the system for leaks and proper draining from all fixtures. The work performed and required was verified by our GR friend who stayed with Nick throughout. The most important factor in selecting Affordable, after technical competence was their integrity and ethics. We could have been taken to the cleaners by an unethical plumber and perhaps never been the wiser. This alone is a reason to select Affordable and Nick specifically.

That service turned out good. I was home when they did the work, but I stayed out of their way. After they completed the work, I signed their invoice and paid them $3,100.00 for job.

I discovered water on the floor in my downstairs bathroom on Sunday, December 28. Not knowing where the source of the leak was, I turned off the water to the entire house and first thing on Monday morning I called a large local plumbing company and was told nobody could come until New Year's eve, or maybe the day after New Year's. I found Affordable Plumbing on Angie's List, called, and Don came within 3 hours. He identified the plugged sewer drain and snaked it right away which fixed the problem. While checking to see that all drains were working, he discovered a corroded drain pipe in the furnace room, beneath the concrete surface. He didn't have time to fix it then but made it workable until he could return, which he did after New Year's day. He fixed the hole in the pipe and tied in the condensation line from the furnace/AC. His work was efficient and high quality. He showed me everything he did and explained the work. I was very pleased with the service he provided. The $450 I was charged included two visits to my home and fixes for two separate problems.

Everything went great. This is a rental and we out of town. They called me on the way over and promised it would be taken care of. When it was done, they called again and told me what they had done, it was beyond my expectations and did not cost any extra. They even sent me pictures on my cell phone so I could see the work. This is the second time we used them, the first time was for a new water heater and that went great at a fair price as well.

Tom was wonderful!! A leak started to come from our ceiling early on a Saturday morning. I called at 7:30 am and Tom was at our house by 9 am. He was respectful of our home and spent a lot of time making sure he knew what was happening before simply cutting into our ceiling. He gave us options for fixing the leak, and obviously cared more about doing what was right than money. Our home is very unique as it has a radiant heating system that is very complicated and is more like a commercial system then residential. So, tom naturally was not familiar with the system. He made sure to research the correct way to fix the issue and consulted with a heating expert. Ultimately the nature of the system prevented Tom from being able to fix the problem, but I thoroughly appreciated that he was able to acknowledge his limitations and didn't perform the job and not do it correctly. This is the mark of a respectful professional. What a joy to deal with someone who isn't trying to squeeze every cent they can from you!!! He also didn't bill us when he had every right to!! He came out on a Saturday and provided me peace of mind, a location of the leak and a plan to fix it. Amazing! I will definitely use him in the future and will tell everyone I know what a great experience it was to work with him.

Called Affordable after having another plumbing company leave work unfinished. They worked very hard to make sure that I was a happy customer. They did a very good job and was very professional.

He was punctual and was professional. He did a great job installing my new faucet and spray. The sink looks nice! He also took the extra time to make sure that the hook-ups under my kitchen sink were properly sealed to avoid leaks; he updated the hook-ups that were there to allow easier convenience in reaching shut-off valves. I feel confident that there will be no leaking, as there had been in the past. He spent well over an hour on the installation and updates, which I appreciate. I feel things were done right. In addition, he quickly undid the clog in my bathroom sink (I had spent months trying to get it unclogged). I am pleased with the work that was done and would hire through the company again.

Affordable plumbing was quick to respond! I had service the next day to assess the problem. They worked around my work schedule which was much appreciated. Tom put a shut valve in to stop leak and came back on Monday to do the repairs. Tom was very professional and conscious of not wasting time to save me money. I am having them come back in the coming weeks to move toilet and replace sink in bathroom. I like that they provide an estimate for the work and cap it up front! Highly recommend. I've had some bad experiences with other plumbing businesses and glad I have found one I trust.

Cleaned the pipe ones, tested, didn't solve the problem. Cleaned again, and this time worked better, tested, confirmed problem solved. I got $20 discount because used Angie's List, but still believe $175 is still a lot. To their credit, they used equipment I don't think you can rent.

I am very happy with the work that Tom from Affordable Plumbing provided. He was on time both days that he worked and my home and was polite/courteous. He explained each of the repairs to me and did a great job picking out the new kitchen faucet - I love it. I found out that there was no main water shut off located in my home. The shut off was located down a manhole in my front yard. I really appreciated Tom crawling down that hole to shut off the water and make the repairs. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Affordable Plumbing again if needed.

My mother needed an estimate so I called and had them come out. They were on time, professional, and very reasonably priced. I did not end up using their service due to the fact I had found a friend to do the job. But as far as the estimate went, If I ever needed work done, I would call Affordable Plumbing back.

They were quick to respond. It was a Sunday we were looking for somebody who was available on Sunday. The work turned out good. They actually weren't able to find the problem, but I don't blame them for that. It was good.

It was the second time that we called them. They've been very good. They were very affordable, very punctual and very helpful. They gave us a discount. They're really good. I haven't had a complaint. They're easy to get. They came out right away. They were right on time.

I was quoted $49.00 for a service call to stop a small water leak after hours, he shut off the leak and came back on June 30 to finish the work and then presented me with an inflated invoice of $270.00. I indicated that is not what I was quoted nor was I told of any additional charges for the saturday trip, the tech corrected the invoice and accepted my payment. Shortly after he left I received a message stating that I had a past due balance of $221 that I needed to pay. I contacted Sue who then yelled and swore at me threatening me with legal action, putting a lien on my home and filing a collection account with the credit bureau to damage my credit rating.

He was very efficient. We appreciated his prompt, professional service very very much.

Went well. Made sure the line was clear and replaced the damanged portion at the ground level. No problems.

Tom Mengyan went out of his way to find a part that is no longer made. He was absolutely fabulous!! No pressure to spend extra money on fancy fittings or parts. Very Fair!!! Would Highly recomend them for all your plumbing needs!!!!

Let me start with a caveat.....I've no notion if the "price was right"...it isn't every day that I have a pump replaced for my well (thank heaven)...but I'm assuming that fair is fair and this isn't something one can "shop around" for...when the pump NEVER turns off or never starts! With that...It was a cold and snowy morning in Michigan...and my water pump went on (and on, and on) was loud, and would NOT stop running. I've had Affordable out before and they sort of took over from another Plumber previously (a longer story), so these folks were not totally unknown to me. tThey were prompt - arriving in about an hour and a half (I've no notion what time it was when I called them, so it could have been early a.m.)....nevertheless the rep called me back and told me how to turn off the pump (via electric..you'd think I'd thought of that, but I was rattled. It was a Saturday, of course, but he arrived, virtually heard the problem and assessed it. The pump needed replacement....we waited until Monday (fine with me) and he arrived on time - made certain there were no surprises about installation of the connection and replacement pump, and installed the new pump. It took a while - and the pump and connections were probably original with the house, so this isn't like putting a pump in new construction. The bright side - the pump house is under the front steps (not buried under 3 feet of snow) - nevertheless it isn't palatial and not particularly comfortable. Nevertheless thus far everything is working,water comes out the faucets and I'm relieved...plus it's QUIET - who knew pumps didn't make noise when they go on. (That should have been a clue...doncha think?...it wasn't for ME) I should also note - the lady I probably woke up when I called was sympathetic and helpful, and the chap that did the work seemed knowledgeable and had a professional demeanor. I appreciated them both....its a good thing someone knows something and is willing to be of service.

A very pleasant man who didn't mind me observing. The job went reasonably smoothly and the charge seemed quite appropriate.||He was unable to get down our slippery private drive for the original appointment and had to reschedule - it was not an emergency. I suggest they consider using better tires on their vans. I also have a van (no traction control, but good all-weater tires) and had no problems going up and down our drive on that same day. Just a thought.
