VONAGE

Decided to give Vonage a try to decrease the amount of money spent on Verizon. The company promised I could keep my old phone number.After 2 months of trying to get the number and service I was told that I could not keep my old phone number. I canceled my service and then had to pay a penalty for canceling early. The tech assistance are Indian and very difficult to understand. Their complaint center is a well kept secret with no phone number and a PO Box. Do you think it really exists or do they really throw it away? I could talk to no one to get further assistance about the money I had to pay for their mistake. They deduct it from your account the second you terminate service so you are basically screwed.

After being their customer for a year, I called to cancel their service. They refuse to cancel me, refuse to give me a confirmation number for cancellation, and continue to charge my credit card every month, and refuse to refund my money, even though I have contacted them twice. I checked with a website and there are HUNDREDS of complaints about Vonage and this very thing. Beware of Vonage --- RUN in the other direction!!
