Description of Work: We purchased a deal for an energy audit. The auditor came out and did the inspection and then a second person came out for a follow up to give us the results and recommend work (that they would perform). The information was useful, and they recommended we add insulation. My biggest complaint was that the follow up meeting was a very intense sales pitch. We got several other quotes for the work they suggested and they were all much lower. If I had to do it again, I would look for a company that only does the audit, not the work (if they exist).

Description of Work: They did a fine and thorough job, except I was disappointed they did not perform a blower-door test. There was a six-foot piece of asbestos insulation down in our crawl space and they said they could not conduct the blower test because of that. I found that to be a convenient excuse - but I can understand the choice to be risk-averse.

In our area, asbestos is a common health & safety issue that we often run into. Asbestos-containing materials that aren’t damaged or disturbed are not likely to pose a health risk as they will not release asbestos fibers. Asbestos-containing materials may release fibers when they are damaged, disturbed, removed improperly, repaired, cut, torn, sanded, sawed, drilled or scraped. This is particularly true when exposed to extreme vibration or air flow, hence us not being able to perform blower door testing during your audit. Our priority is the health and welfare of our customers. Description of Work: They ran an energy audit on my home. I was provided with the analysis afterwards as a separate in-house visit. I am working on scheduling the work now. The plan is to seal up my basement and will cost ~$5K. The rebate estimate (PGW) is very low though. I'll know better after the work is completed. The technician was knowledgable and friendly. The sales guy was also professional. I liked them, but dissappointed about the rebate issue.
