Mark Group

Great job. Tail end of winter job but I did feel the difference on the few cold days in March. Hoping for a big improvement this summer. My only complain is that they underestimated the amount of attic storage space that we would lose because of the new insulation. Now I have to build it back up a bit to be over the insulation.

They did more or less exactly what they promised to do. I found their service useful. It was a little bit different than what I expected, but I was not disappointed.

The service that was provided by the Mark group was wonderful. My attic space is only about 24 inches high and the insulation that was previously there was only about 6 inches high. We had a lot of problems with heating our second floor. We had called several other companies and when we told them that our attic was only 24" high, they immediately told us that putting insulation in could not be done. Then we called The Mark Group. The representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. The representative told us even though our attic space was small, they could get the job done. He assured us they would send someone who would fit in that space, and they did. Their technicians were on time, polite, and cleaned up after themselves. We have noticed a big difference in the warmth of our second floor in the winter and it even stays cooler in the summer while the air conditioning is on. Working with The Mark Group was a great decision! We highly recommend them!

Everyone very professional & friendly unfortunately couldn't very fun because of weather, but expect to have that done soon.

They arrived on time. Both techs were equally knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The work was efficient and without any problems. Clean up was exceptional.

I would use this company again. they answered all my questions (which i always have alot of). And I immediately felt a difference in the warmth/seal of the house.

The service that we got was a total seal, it is energy star rated. There is a certificate that comes with it. They were on time and it took them two trips to get the whole attic done, but they got it done.

It went extremely well, it was a one day job and cleaned up afterwards. Excellent!

Gordon went through our house systematically, identifying areas where we could ease the heat loss we were experiencing and letting us know how/when Mark Group could or could not help us. He sat down with me to explain the criteria that affect efficient home heating and presented me with a detailed proposal of services and costs. Once we called to accept the bid, Gordon schedule a crew for the next week. Steve and Robert arrived at exactly the promised time, also explained what they would be doing and how they would do it. Over the course of the day, Gordon phoned to confirm that all was progressing as promised. Robert checked in every hour or so to point out steps they could take to maximize our efficiency. When they left our house was still clean, our attic was very well insulated and we hope to realize oil heating cost savings that will pay for the job in just a few years.

Workers arrived on time, took good call to protect the house where moving in martial and very efficient in getting the job done on time.

Already this year it is making such a huge difference in my oil bill. I worked with them hand in hand about each detail I wanted. They were very knowledgeable and respectful to me. They were great. They worked with me side by side. I stayed up there with them during some of the work. They have sent me a lot of calls for referrals. I have recommended them highly. They worked in tough conditions but they did a great job.

The crew arrived on time. Worked efficiently within a four hour period. Also gave me recommendations for additional energy costs savings in our house. They were professional, personable and thorough.

Ok, though their quoted price to insulate my attic was relatively high.

I called the Mark Group to get their opinion on how to deal with a frigid walk-in closet. Gordon came out, and after talking about the problem(s), we walked around the house with a "heat sensing gun" to see where the heat loss areas were and to determine if adding insulation would solve the problem. Since there is already insulation in place and it's doing its job, he didn't feel that adding more would make a significant difference. He was able to reassure me that previous insulation work had been done well (by another company), and that in general my house is sound and well-sealed. Ultimately, he suggested changes I can make myself to try to control the temperature in my garage, which is a contributing factor in the temperature problem. Needless to say, I'll be visiting my local Home Depot or Lowes soon to purchase the items he recommended. It was a pleasure to talk to someone who was truly interested in helping me correct the temperature problems, even when it didn't result in money in his pocket or a signed contract. I appreciated his honesty and helpfulness, and will cheerfully recommend him to any of my friends who have insulation or uneven temperature issues in their homes.

They were very professional and did for the most part all that was expected but I was disappointed with one item. They sealed the door with fabric and evaluated the CFms' of the house. This is an evaluation of the breathability of a house. Every house needs to breath if it does not it will create a lot more damage than good. My house was tight to begin with so there was only so much sealing they could do. I wanted my basement sealed as well but they could not do it because the house would be too tight. I would have liked to known this before I signed the contract. I felt that my house was drafty and the savings I would experience would justify the expense of the sealing but if I would have known my house was as tight as it was I may not have done the sealing of the attic.

Gordon at Mark Group came out to my home and gave me an assessment of what services they could provide. He was very engaged, enthusiastic, and knowledgable. The day before the scheduled work was to occur, they emailed me to confirm my appointment, and when I didn't respond within a few hours, they followed up with a phone call to confirm- which I really appreciated. In the end they did a basic energy seal basement upgrade (spray foam along floor joists). They also did a blower-door test before and after (to show you the difference immediately) and installed a CO2 detector. The crew that came to do the work was very clean and friendly. While they were performing the work, Gordon called me to confirm how the work was progressing. As someone who is routinely frustrated with the lack of communication by contractors, I was shocked that he called WHILE the job was in progress- and also that he seemed to genuinely care that I was happy with the service. I have already recommended Mark Group to a friend, and will continue to do so. I was extremely impressed with everyone I dealt with at Mark Group.

The work crew arrived on time, completed the work, and left the area cleaner than when they arrived.
