They were very good, comprehensive, punctual. They explained everything to me, and they were helpful. I was happy I used them for the inspection.

The service man showed up early. He was direct and honest. He had the thermal camera and showed the areas that needed improvement. He didn't try to talk us into an expensive service contract, which was nice. I would completely recommend this company for an energy audit.

The person who did the audit was lovely. He was professional and answered all of our questions. They later sent someone to give us an evaluation of the results and provide a proposal for the work. He told us he would be in touch within a week. We are well into the third week and he has yet to send us the proposal. We are confused especially because we are interested in pursuing the work. It turns out the man that came to review the audit was sick and there was a series of snowstorms so that was the explanation for the delay. They have been very attentive and following up because we did decide to use their busienss. During the in-home installation the gentlemen were very polite, clean, and considerate. In the end, I was very happy with them. The "A" for price was for the energy audit itself.

The Mark Group is one of the few companies I have come across who can give you a honest opinion. I was very impressed with the quality of their work and would definitely hire them in a heartbeat in the future, if needed. Their professionalism, dedication, honesty and quality of work is outstanding.

Easy estimating procedure and great grew completing work in one day.

The company was on time, very polite, the work was performed efficiently and to my satisfaction.

The team arrived on time and worked strictly through until the entire job was done. They were polite when asked questions or pointing out issues. They carefully reviewed everything they had done and satisfactorily answered our questions.

Mark Group sold me the winterizing deal; they told me the temperature in my house would go up AT LEAST 20 degrees.(That was the only reason I was willing to spend $4.100.00 on it) The night before they would come to winterize my crawl space I called to change my mind about having the work done; I felt uncertain of the results - too good to be true kind of deal. They reassured me they would fix anything if I did not notice any difference. A couple of days later, unsatisfied with the outcome, I called the man from Mark Group who had sold me the deal. He would not return my calls or answer the phone. Finally, I think it was Christmas Eve when this man answered telling me he would get in touch with me the following Monday. He never called again. A second representative of Mark Group came to check the work done probably by January and told me my house had so many problems that it was not possible to have temperature changes unless I made major updates to heating, etc. Well, my house is old and in need of improvements, it was never a secret; however, the important point here is that the Mark Group misrepresented their product and lied to me in order to get the job. I wasted my money totally. I would advise against getting work done by them because they will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your money; they will not back the promise and will ignore you from then on.

They arrived timely and worked with an average of four people for one full week. I had the impression that their quote underestimated the size of this job, especially the dense packing of all exterior walls. They worked extremely cleanly in comparison to all other contractors that had worked for us before. I would contact them again if we had another insulation job to be done.

The Pros: - After buying the big deal I was promptly contacted to schedule an appointment for the energy audit and an appointment for the read-out - During the energy audit Mark Group was here for close to 3 hours. They even went through the crawl spaces. - Both the person performing the energy assessment and the person who came back to go through the report were prompt, professional and very courteous. - I received an electronic copy of my energy audit - I had an energy audit with a blower door test at a previous house. This big deal was a good value The Cons: There was one major drawback. After doing the majority of the energy audit, something was discovered in a crawl space that could be mold. Because of that, the blower door test wasn't done for the risk of spreading mold. (As it turns out it was not mold). The real value for me was getting the blower door test done and see where air infiltrations were. I asked if they would come back and complete the blower door test once it was discovered whether that small area had mold or not. The answer was that they would do a blower door test with any job that they did (to see the before and after difference). I did not hire them for any follow-up work, therefore I never got a blower door test. There was no thermal imaging. I'm not sure if that was because the blower door test wasn't used. So, for me it really wasn't worth it without the blower door test. But it wasn't their fault they discovered this little piece of something they feared could be mold. This makes it really hard to give them the proper scores and I rated some N/A because of that. I would however, given higher scores if they made the determination of whether if it was mold or not, and when it was determined it was not mold, came out and did the blower door test (which I assume would have thermal imaging go along with it) ***UPDATE After my Angie's List review, Mark Group called and scheduled a time to do the blower door test. I've updated my ratings, since the test was done. The major drawback no longer applies, and now this big deal is a much better value!

Waste of money. Missed large air leak where pellet stove was improperly connected. Did not use any thermal imaging. I believe they are looking for a certain amount of money for the service they perform. When I asked to have my attic insulated for the $785.00 quoted in their list of recommendations, I was told they would only do it if I also spent 1700.00 for band beam insulation. My masonry home does not have a band beam. I bought 2 cans of spray foam and sealed the area of the foundation that was leaking air.

They spent about an hour checking our house for energy losses. They sent us a report with some recommendations and an estimate of costs. We decided to not have any of the work thy recommended performed.

Timely, professional, high quality. Hard sell was a big turnoff, but everything else was top drawer.

Very informative! Dre came out and was knowledgeable, he pointed out various areas in my house that I was losing heat. I also learned why my living room was always cold, I thought it was because I had bad windows. Dre showed me a completely uninsulated crawl space directly under my living room. He also performed the blower door test that revealed even more deficiencies in my home insulation. I do plan to get most of the work done in my audit because I am wasting so much heat this winter because of low or no insulation.

Mark Group Inc. was okay. They went through the house and told us some things that we needed to look at or potential problems. Everything went well. He's a nice guy and very professional. The price was good. We learned something, for our money, so it went well.

We had them do an energy audit. We are happy with the information and we will be using it to make more energy efficient improvements later. I felt the Big Deal was a good value.

They came as soon as I wanted them to. Their communication is excellent. The people who came were very nice and they were accommodating with scheduling.

It worked out well. I was impressed with the thoroughness of the technician.

Very professional job. Courteous installers with leader who explained materials used options and technique for insulating our attic. On final walk through, he found a crack in our ceiling drywall & stayed to tape & spackle it. I really appreciated his attention to detail & can-do attitude.

Overall the response to my request for attic insulation estimate was good. Consultant came over and did "brief" assessment. He also sent another "specialist" for $150 bucks to estimate our saving cost as they work with State of NJ on energy saving programs and the state supplements the final cost. There were, however, many problems. First, the inspection was brief and in my opinion inaccurate. I was told that I need to replace all "old" insulation in my attic (it was old and not fulfilling its purpose was told) and do a blown-in insulation. Problem is that the inspector never bother to crawl in and examine the entire attic and when I did, more than 50% had brand new insulation. Removing it would be a shame and waste of money for me. Second, the estimate "way overestimated" state's contribution. I was told that I will have over 20% in energy savings but finally the house evaluation only revealed just about 10%. Accordingly the state's contribution decreased by few thousands $. And who to pick up the tab - well.... me. Third, I was quoted $500 for flat storage area that they would create - in plain words: putting few wood sheets together to get platform few feet by few feet. You go to HD or Lowe's and it will cost you $20/30. I don't mind people making money but this was very poorly executed on their part. They have plenty of people happy with their service. This is just my experience. Bottom line: would not unfortunately recommend that service.
